Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Little Angels

At last week’s Card & Cuppa we made our second of three Christmas Cards.

This time it was the turn of these little angels.

Bow Builder Punch Christmas Angels with HIPPOFROG Designs

Aren’t they cute?  There was a collective ‘oooooh’ when I revealed the project and everyone really enjoyed making them.

They use the Bow Builder Punch for the bodies and the 1″ Circle Punch for the face and halo.  Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set provides the eyes.

The background of white stars uses a combination of Balloon Celebration and Labeler Alphabet Stamp Sets with Wink of Stella dotted on the top.  A Clear Faceted Gem on each little angel adds to the magical Christmas sparkle.

This week it’s our final Card & Cuppa sessions of the year.  Book your place by 18:00 the night before.

Also, don’t miss out on today’s fabulous FREE SHIPPING offer, available until 23:00 GMT tonight at my 24/7 online store.  Great for picking up those last minute Christmas crafting goodies.

Turning 12

Over the past few weeks both my Nephew and ‘honorary’ Nephew had Birthdays.

As they were turning 12, I made them both bright and cheery cards.

Stampin' Up! Number of Years with HIPPOFROG Designs

I’ve used Lemon Lime Twist with Emerald Envy as the colour palette with Number of Years as the ’12’. I find this stamp set more and more useful every time I use it.

Random dots from Playful Backgrounds gives this version of the card a great background to set off the bannered sentiment.

A quick and easy card with a pre-teen feel.

Don’t forget the Year-End Sale event.  Lots of items at reduced prices while stocks last.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Washi Tape Baubles

For our final three Card & Cuppa sessions of the year we are making Christmas cards.

Stampin' Up! Washi Tape Baubles with HIPPOFROG Designs

The first project was this Washi Tape Bauble card.

A fun way of using Washi Tape and Circle Punches to make gorgeous Christmas baubles.

We used the ‘splat’ stamp from Swirly Bird stamped in White to create a beautiful snow effect on the Crumb Cake layer.

Linen Thread strands and bows on the smaller baubles and a Copper Trim bow on the larger sparkly bauble finish this pretty project.

If you don’t have Washi Tape, you could use thin strips of DSP instead.  It’s a really economical project as it doesn’t use a lot of Washi or DSP.

Why not join us at our next Card & Cuppa session. Book your place by 18:00 the night before.

Don’t forget to grab your favourite Autumn/Winter Catalogue items in our Year-End Sale.

A caffeine themed farewell

The lovely owners of one of our Card & Cuppa venues are moving on to new adventures.

I couldn’t let this occasion pass without giving them a caffeine themed farewell.

Stampin' Up! Coffee Cafe with HIPPOFROG Designs

The Stamp Set I just had to use was Coffee Cafe, with coffee rings from Timeless Textures.

Early Espresso was of course the main colour of choice.  This was paired with Powder Pink for the milkshake along with Pool Party – one of the coffee shop logo colours.  Crumb Cake is the colour bringing everything together.

To create the top of the takeaway milkshake, I stamped with Whisper White onto Vellum to give a see-through effect.  So Saffron stamped onto Very Vanilla gave the right tones for the cream.

A sentiment from Bunch of Banners where I masked each word to create a stacked phrase instead of a long one added the finishing touches.

Although it’s the end of an era, the new owners have allowed us to continue with our Card & Cuppa sessions.

To join us for our penultimate card of the year, book your place by 18:00 the day before.

Don’t forget to grab a bargain in the Year-End Sale.

Lucky flowers

A very talented lady started a new chapter in her floristry training the other week.  I made her this bouquet of lucky flowers to wish her all the best.

Stampin' Up with HIPPOFROG Designs - Jar of Love

It is based on this recent Card & Cuppa project.

As she is a fan of orange, I’ve used Pumpkin Pie and Peekaboo Peach for the card, flowers and bow.

In the same way as the previous project, Jar of Love and Balloon Celebration Stamp Sets create the stems.  The stamped flowers are from the Number of Years Stamp Set and the other flower use the Tree Builder Punch.  Baby Bear Stamp Set gives us the bow cut out with the Holly Berry Builder Punch.

The sentiment is from the Banners for You Stamp Set and matching Bunch of Banners Framelits.

The finishing touches are a strip of mini Gold Sequins, Rhinestones and Wink of Stella.

Although this project uses lots of different stamp sets and accessories, I just love how they all combine together to make something completely different to the original designs.

What ‘different’ projects have you made?

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Lift Me Up and Decorative Masks

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project was the final regular card of the year before we start on Christmas cards.

Stampin' Up with HIPPOFROG Designs - Lift me Up

There was a collective ‘ooooh’ when I revealed this card, a good sign!

The cloud Decorative Mask, White Inkpad and Sponge Dauber created the lovely subtle clouds onto the Marina Mist sky and the Dapper Denim strip. We then used the Lift me Up Stamp Set for some tone-on-tone stamping of the smaller balloons.

Next, a length of Whisper White Sheer Ribbon added more texture.  Finally, a bright red large hot-air balloon and a sentiment punched from Real Red Cardstock created a nice contrast to this masculine card.

For the next three weeks, we are making Christmas cards.  If you’d like to join us then make sure you book your place by 18:00 the day before.

Shades of Blue

When I first saw the project on Page 143 of the Annual Catalogue I knew I wanted make my own version.

I had the perfect ocassion last week as it was my Mum’s Birthday.

Stampin' Up with HIPPOFROG Designs - Falling Flowers

For the colours I decided not to use the neutral palette, I opted for shades of blue instead. Night of Navy, Island Indigo and Pool Party combined with Very Vanilla are my chosen shades.

The main design uses the Falling Flowers Stamp Set and the matching May Flowers Framelits. I’ve used the Touches of Texture Stamp Set in the background.

There are lots of layers in this card fixed using Dimensionals and these create the depth.

Sponge Daubering the edges, a piece of pretty doily, strip of Island Indigo Ombre Ribbon, Pearls and Wink of Stella are the finishing touches.

I’m pleased to say that Mum loved her card 🙂

A card for a young artist

My Niece recently celebrated her Birthday.  As she is a very talented young artist, I just had to make her a card with an arty theme.

Stampin' Up! Crafting Forever with HIPPOFROG Designs

I used Painter’s Palette and Crafting Forever Stamp Sets to create this artistic collage.  The sentiment is from Number of Years.

The main colours are Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Sweet Sugarplum and So Saffron for the stamping.  I’ve also used Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens to colour the pot of brushes.

Layering Squares Framelits were used to cut out the easel pieces and the pot was cut out by hand.

Finally, everything was layered together using Dimensionals.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Flower Shop meets Bunch of Blossoms

Happy Monday!

At last week’s Card & Cuppa class we created a pretty Birthday Card using the Neutral colour family.

Stampin' Up! Flower Shop and Blossom Builder with HIPPOFROG Designs

My inspiration for this project came from flicking through the Annual Catalogue.  When I reached Page 97 I saw a layout I liked and set about changing the stamp sets and colours.

Using the Watercolor Wash Stamp to create the background in Crumb Cake, I teamed this with Soft Suede and Very Vanilla for lovely sepia tones.

Flower Shop and Bunch of Blossoms Stamp Sets met, along with the Pansy Punch and Blossom Builder Punch to create the floral pieces.

A length of Linen Thread wrapped around the card and finished with a bow just add a classy touch.  We then used Wink of Stella Clear to add a touch of sparkle to the flowers which turns a lovely golden colour when you use it on Soft Suede 🙂

Some Rhinestones were then dotted across the project to finish.

This week is our final ‘normal’ card before we head into making Christmas Cards over the next three weeks.

If you’d like to join us at a Card & Cuppa session then book your place by 18:00 the day before.
