Last week’s Card & Cuppa class was the first after my relaxing week in Cyprus.
Here is the project we made.
It reminds me of old photographs with sepia tones.
We began by stamping the large flower image and sentiment from the Birthday Blooms Stamp Set in Early Espresso.
By using Watercolor Pencils in Whisper White and Early Espresso we began to create the sepia look.
We started with the leaves and then used a Blender Pen over them to even out the colouring. Next it was the turn of the flower where we gradually built up the layers of colour. Once we were happy with the flower, we once again reached for the Blender Pen. By colouring over the stamped lines we erased where we had coloured over the lines and also made the image pop. If you want to use a Blender Pen over the white, make sure that you have a deep layer of colour first. Finally we coloured the stamens, again with Early Espresso.
A length of Linen Thread wrapped around the project and the layered sentiment add the finishing touches.
Often used to enhance other colour combinations, the Neutrals Collection is a fabulous palette of colours. Try using several Neutrals together and see how changing a colour palette can open up a world of different options.
I’d love to see your creations and new combinations.
Join us for next week’s Card & Cuppa sessions by booking your place by 18:00 the night before.
Happy crafting
