Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – One for the DSP Hoarders

Happy Monday!  I hope you’ve had a good weekend.

I’ve a question for you.  Who can’t bear to cut into their DSP and sits there stroking it instead?  Come on, own up!

Well, for all you DSP hoarders, last week’s Card & Cuppa project is perfect for you.

Blooms & Wishes Stampin' Up! UK

Isn’t it fun?  It uses the Blooms & Bliss DSP and the sentiment from the Blooms & Wishes Stamp Set.  This DSP is now no longer available, but you could use any DSP for this project.

By cutting the DSP into thin strips,  you can place the pieces in any pattern you like.  I used a herringbone pattern for this one, but you could let your creativity go wild!

Here’s another project using a slightly different pattern.

The bonus of using DSP in this way is that you can make loads of cards from a pack and show off all sides of the paper at once.  I used 6 strips measuring 6″ by 1.5cm, 3 each from two different pieces of DSP, so it’s really economical.  It also looks really effective and you can change the DSP, colours and sentiments to suit almost any ocassion, or use cardstock instead.  What’s not to love?

By taking a colour from the DSP, I added a sentiment, a strip of card and made a bow with the Bow Builder Punch for the finishing touch.

So, get out that Designer Series Paper and start cutting it into strips.

I’d love to see your creations.

To join us for a Card & Cuppa session, book your place by 18:00 the day before.

Happy crafting
