May Flowers for an April Birthday

A friend (and Stampin’ Up! fan) celebrated their Birthday last week, so I obviously made them a card.

Although their Birthday was in April, I chose the May Flowers Framelits Dies to create this project.

I began by creating a wall using the Brick Wall Embossing Folder.  To achieve this  look, I gently rubbed the folder with a Sahara Sand ink pad before running it through the Big Shot.

My friend loves Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler so these are the main colours I chose to use.  To add a splash of colour I added a 1/2″circle of Daffodil Delight in the centre of the die-cut flowers.

I decided against adding a sentiment as I didn’t want to clutter the blank section of wall.  To add more detail I’ve used loops of Gold Metallic Thread behind the flower and Wink of Stella on the petals.

If you’re a fan of the current Catalogue bundles, make sure you take advantage of them before 31st May.  Current bundled items that aren’t retiring won’t be bundled in the new catalogue.

Happy crafting
