Happy Monday!
Do you have those moments when you need to create something that serves several purposes? The project we created at week’s Card & Cuppa was one of these.
I needed a Birthday card for my Mother-in-Law, a class project and I of course wanted to use some new products.
Here is the project.
It uses the fabulous new Happy Birthday, Gorgeous Stamp Set from the Annual Catalogue. The set is photopolymer and contains 32 stamps including balloons, flowers and great sentiments – perfect for all birthdays.
The flowers are a combination of Sweet Sugarplum, Blushing Bride and Pink Pirouette. Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz were used for the leaves which I’ve then coloured using a Blender Pen.
As the stamp set is 2-step, you can create outlines and inner colours. If you’re using pale colours for the inners, as I’ve done here, it’s often easier to stamp the outlines first and the inners afterwards. This allows you to line things up a lot easier, but it’s personal preference.
Although the stamping is fairly random, the colours and shape of the design reminds me of summer flowers growing over an arch.
For this project we’ve used the new Pretty Label Punch for the sentiment. By punching it again and cutting in half, we’ve created a layer behind it.
Finally we attached the sentiment over the third new product on this project, some coordinating Old Olive Mini Chevron Ribbon.
If you’d like to join us at a future class, please book your place by 18:00 the night before.
Happy crafting
