Today I’m sharing this monochrome Merry Merlot Birthday Card with you.

Both my new Gallery Grunge Stamp Set and Merry Merlot inkpad were waiting be used, so this was the perfect project.

The background came to life as I was stamping. There is an image in the set that has lots of lines so I’ve stamped this multiple times along the left-hand edge of the card.

I’ve die-cut the sentiment twice and used a sponge dauber to add splashes of colour. By offsetting the sentiments it also creates a slight shadow to add more depth.

More sponge dauber action around the edge of the project adds to the grunge effect.

Finally, I’ve used Dimensionals cut into thin pieces to attach the sentiment to create even more depth.

This is a great design to recreate using a different colour or sentiment. With 50 main colours to choose from there are a lot of options.
