Last week’s Card & Cuppa project was inspired by Page 119 of the Annual Catalogue. My version has layers and leaves.
As I don’t use the Big Shot at my Card and Cuppa classes due to space limitations, I chose to use punches to create the layers instead.
Soft Sea Foam creates the gorgeous base and background. It looks fabulous with the Mint Macaron and Grapefruit Grove accents. We of course have some corner rounding using the Detailed Trio Punch.
Petal Palette provides the dotted section that is stamped in Mint Macaron. We then add leaves from the Painted Harvest Stamp Set, some on the background and others cut out using the co-ordinating Leaf Punch. These cut out pieces give us one of our layers.
Another layer comes from the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch as we add a splash of colour.
Our final layers is a sentiment from Picture Perfect Birthday with a strip of Grapefruit Grove ribbon looped behind. I’ve just noticed that all of the stamp sets start with ‘P’!
By raising this on Dimensionals it finishes the project by making the layers more defined.
Even though this is a post-friendly project and we only use one layer of Dimensionals. you can clearly see the different layers below. This is achieved by only adhering the middle of the punched strip and the end of the leaves to avoid them being completely flat.
I loved taking inspiration from the Annual Catalogue, it’s a really useful resource for ideas.
I really like this project. Pop back later in the week to see a very similar design.
Why not join us for a future Card and Cuppa session. Book your place by 18:00 the day before.
Happy crafting
