For last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project, I used a combination of floral punches and bright cardstock to create this pretty card.
I was asked to use yellow, orange and brights, and this project hits the brief! It’s definitely bright and cheery and sure to put a smile on someone’s face.
Some of you may recognise it as a non-stamping version of this project.
The colours are from the Brights Collection, plus Basic Black. Using colours from the same family is a great way to check that your chosen combination will work well.
The background is Daffodil Delight Medium Daisy Punch shapes glued onto a matching layer. Some overlap the edge, with the excess cut away.
Then, two Daisy Punch and two Medium Daisy Punch shapes in Mango Melody are layered to create the focal flower.
Leaves in Granny Apple Green, from the Tulip Builder Punch are scored down the middle with a paper folder and then scrunched. This gives the leaves some extra texture and makes them stand out behind the flower.
Another Medium Daisy Punch shape, this time in Basic Black, had the petals cut down quite short. These petals were then stood up to look like a saucer and this centre piece was then added.
Normally, I would raise the daisy up onto Dimensionals, but the finished project would have been too bulky for standard post. This is due to the three Gold Metallic Pearls added to the centre of the daisy to finish the project.
In the class kits, I also added a Timeless Label punched shape for a sentiment that could be added if needed.
