      – Karen from HIPPOFROG Designs has been running Card & Cuppa for Children classes in various cafes across Milton Keynes since 2017 and also over ZOOM during lockdown
      – Attendees make a greetings card (the ‘Card’ part) using the instruction given.
      – All the items needed to make the card are provided.
      – During the class, the attendees also have a drink from the cafe (the ‘Cuppa’ part) – one for the adult and one for the child
      – Each week the card is different and the designs use techniques such as stamping images, punching shapes and colouring etc.

      – Lilly Cafe is located at the back of Whitehouse Surgery on the new Whitehouse estate in Milton Keynes.
      – The postcode is MK8 1EQ. Their website is https://lillycafe.com/

      – There is plenty of parking, including disabled parking. The car park has a one way system.
      – As it is around the back of the surgery (next to the Chemist), there is a walk from the car park.
      – On days when the Surgery is open, you can cut through to the back of the building.

    • Why do I have to pre-book?
      – Due to nature of the class and to ensure everyone is able to create, learn and have fun, numbers are capped.
      – There needs to be enough kits available for everyone.
      – Kits are put together for the number attending, so booking closes at 14:15 the Saturday before the class (72 hours in advance).
      – The cafe also needs to be informed in advance of expected numbers so they can set tables aside for us.

    • What confirmation/reminders will I receive?
      – When you book, you will receive an automated confirmation email from the booking system. This email also provides you with the options to make any changes to your booking.
      – Approx 72 hours before the class, you should receive a reminder message via WhatsApp. Please note, this is a manual message that Karen has to send each week.

    • Is this is only Card & Cuppa for Children session each week?
      – Yes. This is to fit in with both Karen’s time and availability at Lilly Cafe.
      – If there is sufficient interest, other days/times during the week might be added.

    • Why has the class price increased since pre-COVID?
      – Due to the change in drinks prices since our last in person classes (approx half of the new class fee), the class fee has had to increase.
      – Plus, the cost of cardstock, embellishments etc has also increased.

    • How do I pay?
      – Payment is required on arrival.
      – Cash or bank transfer are the preferred options.

    • What do I do if I am unwell/can’t attend?
      – Obviously if you or the child/children are unwell/have COVID symptons you should not attend.
      – If it is less than 72 hours before the class and you cannot attend, please let Karen know (by text/email) as soon as you know, so the place can be offered to others on the waiting list.
      – If you know you cannot attend and it is more than 72 hours beforehand, you can change your booking yourself using the online booking system.

    • What happens if Karen is unwell/can’t attend?
      – Karen is doing an LFT every week.
      – If Karen is unable to attend due to illness, she will contact you (normally via text/WhatsApp) as far in advance as she can.

      Can anyone attend?
      – Children aged 4+ of any ability can attend the classes if they have a pre-booked space and are accompanied by a responsible adult.

    • What happens at the class?
      – Everyone arrives and takes a seat at our reserved section.
      – Payments are made and drinks orders taken.
      – The card is shown and Karen explains how to make it using the Stampin’ Up! items laid out on the table that everyone shares.
      – Everyone then makes their card and enjoys their drink.
      – Any additional tuition is provided.
      – The class has a relaxed atmosphere.
      – Although the class is 90 minutes long, some weeks the project may not take long to complete at all. You are free to leave once the project is completed, or stay and socialise. Other weeks, as the items the children use are shared, they may have to wait for a few minutes for the products to be available to them.
      – Once the project is completed, please take a picture of it. You can then share the picture in the Show off Sunday post on the HIPPOFROG Designs Facebook Page.

    • How are you keeping the children safe?
      – Karen has Enhanced DBS clearance for working with children and vulnerable adults.
      – Each adult is responsible for the child/children they are accompanying, including behavioural expectations.
      – Please remember that the cafe is a public space and as such, we cannot control who enters etc.

    • What are your expectations on behaviour?
      – These classes are designed as a space for the children to create, learn and have fun. With that in mind, it is expected that the children will listen to the instructions given, be polite to everyone and share nicely.
      – If a child is being particularly disruptive, you and they will be asked to leave.
      – For the adults, you will be expected to assist the child/children you are accompanying where needed, whilst also allowing them to explore their creativity based on the instructions and tuition given.
Sometimes we need to remember that it is their project, not ours!

    • Will you be running Card & Cuppa for Children again later in the year?
      – If the summer classes work well, Card & Cuppa for Children may return during the October half-term holiday.

    • Can I see projects from previous Card & Cuppa for Children classes?
      – Of course! Below are some of the Card & Cuppa for Children projects we’ve made in the past.

Following on from last year’s Christmas Card Club, this year it will be running over five months from July to November.

The pictures above are last year’s Christmas Card Club projects. The designs for 2023 will differ from these.

Receive a kit in the post each month containing the items* you need to create two Christmas cards. You will create the cards in your own time using the instructional video provided.

The design will change each month, so there’s the opportunity to make 10 cards (2 each of five different designs) from July to November, with a special offer for a sixth design available.

With an I Want It All option for those who book for the full five months in advance, a Pay As You Go option for those who want to dip in and out, and the opportunity to add extra cards each month too, you can get ahead with your Christmas crafting in your own way.

Please note, this is an EXTRA opportunity to craft and will not replace my Crack Your Christmas Cards or Special Christmas Cards classes.

There are two options for Christmas Card Club:

£8.00 a month (July-November)

Each month you book for, you will receive:

– A class kit posted to you, containing the items needed to create 2 identical Christmas Cards (cardstock, envelopes, ribbons, embellishments etc*)
The cards will be pre-designed by Karen and will be post friendly when made.
– An email containing a link to a short instructional video for the month (videos will go live on 25th of each month).

===

Option 2: I Want It All (IWIA) – 6 designs for the price of 5
£40.00 Book in advance (by 9th July) for the FULL five months

You will receive the same class kits as above, over a five month period, PLUS, an extra sixth design and instructional video with month 5.

The extra design is ONLY available if you book the IWIA option by 9th July.

===

Extras
£1.50 each

Extra cards: Add 1, 2, 3 or more extra cards each month.
Extra cards MUST be added by the booking deadline each month.

===

– Scissors
– Adhesives
– Any sentiments and inkpads you wish to use
– Wink of Stella (if you want to add sparkle).

Due to Stampin’ Up! rules, kits will NOT include stamped items.
