COVID-19

COVID-19 – Update 3rd August 2021

As you know, restrictions in England have recently eased.

I would love to get back to face-to-face classes, but there are a few challenges I need to overcome first.

Due to The Coffee Boutique (my main class venue) closing at the end of this month, I’ll need to find a new venue to host both daytime and evening classes.

Finding different venues, visiting each one and making sure that they fit my requirements in terms of availability, costs and working in partnership, is obviously going to take time.

Any venue will also have their own COVID policies that we will need to understand and work to.

A lot of potential venues will have been closed for a long time and are just starting to re-open and familiarise themselves with new rules, guidance and protocols.

Therefore, I’m going to continue my online classes for the rest of 2021 and revisit face-to-face classes in the new year.

However, one thing that has returned is ‘Collect from Karen’. See my ‘How to Order‘ page for full details.

As before, your safety, my safety and the safety of others is still my main concern and I won’t compromise that to be able to craft in person.

Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to ‘seeing’ you at an online class.

COVID-19 – Update 10th December 2020

We’re currently in Tier 2 which means we still can’t get together to craft.

I’ve therefore put my timetable for the beginning of 2021 together and classes are available for booking.

Even though there is news of a vaccine, it is still unlikely that we will be able to craft together shortly after that.

I will still need to make sure that venues are happy to have us, and if so, work with them to ensure we are crafting within their guidelines.

There is also the question of how we share items when crafting and working out the finer details of my COVID policy.

Your safety, my safety and the safety of others is still my main concern and I won’t compromise that to be able to craft in person.

Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to ‘seeing’ you at a 2021 online class.

Update 4th November 2020

As England heads into another ‘Lockdown’, I will continue to run my range online classes and packs (with postal kits) for the forseeable future.

I have classes planned up to the end of 2020, and I will start putting my class schedule for 2021 together fairly soon.

Realistically, I can’t see us being able to craft together face-to-face until the 2nd quarter of 2021 at the earliest.

Your safety, my safety and those we come into close contact with are my primary concern.

I’m missing you all at face-to-face classes, but I will not be running them again until I am confident it is safe to do so.

Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to ‘seeing’ you at an online class.

PS: When you are booking classes, don’t forget that the booking deadlines are at least two weeks prior to the class date. This is to allow packs to be prepared and posted out to you in advance.

Update 2nd July 2020

Since March, I’ve been running classes online over ZOOM, with a timetable in place until the start of September.

Despite the upcoming relaxation of the rules, I need to be realistic. I’ll therefore continue to run my range of online classes (with postal kits) for the forseeable future, with these classes being planned up to the end of 2020*.

* The Government has given permission for some venues to open from 4th July which could allow us to return to face-to-face classes in time.

However, as we share products and tools (stamps, inks, punches, adhesives etc), working out how this can be safely achieved, within the guidelines, is going to be a challenge. Plus, each class venue is likely to have different rules for gatherings – some are local businesses, some are chains, some are smaller than others etc.

As much as I miss seeing everyone at face-to-face classes, I will not be running them again until I am confident it is safe to do so.

I realise this may be disappointing, but the safety of everyone is too important to risk.

Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to ‘seeing’ you at an online class.
