Last week’s Card & Cuppa – Swirly Bird revisited

I hope you’re enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend, in spite of the downpours!

As it’s Monday again it is time to show you the project from last week’s Card & Cuppa.

Here it is:

Stampin' Up! Swirly Bird

I revisited the Swirly Bird Stamp Set and used the bird, leaves and flowers to create a lovely fresh ‘thank you’ card.

Previously we’ve created a more masculine card using the kites from this set. This time is was a more feminine feel. There are still more stamps left to use in this set too, so I expect it will get another Card & Cuppa outing!

As it is difficult to use the Big Shot at the various cafes, rather than cut out the flowers using the coordinating dies, we used a circle punch instead. The flowers were stamped several times using one inking to create varied colours.

If you want to join us for Card & Cuppa then visit my Class Timetable for more information. Due to the Bank Holiday, this week’s session is on Wednesday.

Please make sure you book your place by 18:00 the night before each Card & Cuppa session so that I can have the right number of kits available and enough space saved in the cafe for everyone.

Today I’m showing you cards 5 and 6 from August’s Papercrafting: One Sheet Wonder Class.

The One Sheet Wonder technique is a simple way of creating many cards really quickly. Along with the box we made this would make a fabulous gift.

Pop back tomorrow where I’ll show you the final two cards that were made at the class.

One Sheet Wonder Class – Projects 3 & 4

Welcome back to our One Sheet Wonder Class projects.

Today is the turn of projects 3 and 4.

Stampin' Up! Blooms & Wishes

The projects use exactly the same items as before, we’ve just added a sentiment from another stamp set in the top project and used punches to cut them out.

Pop back tomorrow to see projects 5 and 6.

One Sheet Wonder Class – Projects 1 & 2

Earlier this month, we held our regular Papercrafting Class.

This month it was the turn of a One Sheet Wonder using the Blooms & Wishes Stamp Set where the attendees made 8 cards and a coordinating box to put them in.

If you haven’t heard of a One Sheet Wonder before then read on to learn more.

Here are the first 2 projects.

Stampin' Up! Blooms & Wishes

Stampin' Up! Blooms & Wishes

A one sheet wonder involves randomly stamping a sheet of cardstock and then cutting it into a number of different pieces to create a number of cards (8 in this case), effectively making your own background sheet. There are various cutting sheets available all over the internet, but I chose to design my own.

Floral designs work really well for this and it’s good to have a few larger images and then some smaller ones to fill the gaps. You can also chose whether to completely cover the sheet or leave a few white spaces.

For this design, we used Sweet Sugarplum, Blushing Bride, Rich Razzleberry, Mint Macaron and Sahara Sand.

Pop back tomorrow where I’ll show you the next two projects.

If you’d like to know more about forthcoming classes then visit my Class Timetable for more information.

Last week’s Card & Cuppa – Diagonal Slash

Last week we held both our regular Card & Cuppa session and our Card & Cuppa for Children session.

As I showed you the Children’s session card yesterday, today is the turn of the regular session.

Here is the project the attendees made.

Stampin' Up! Flower Shop

I decided to show the attendees how to make a diagonal slash card. A really simple yet effective technique where you stamp a pattern and then cut it.

We also only used one ink pad to create the card but used a blender pen to colour the images to soften the white.

This project was really popular with the attendees and I hope to see their own versions that they have created since the class.

If you’d like to join us for next weeks’ session on Wednesday 31st August at Strudwicks Coffee Shop (no session on Monday due to the Bank Holiday Monday and our Thursday venue is closed for a few weeks), then please book your place by 18:00 on Tuesday so that I have enough kits available.

Card & Cuppa for Children – Session 2

Last week it was the turn of the 2nd Card & Cuppa for Children session.

We had a full class with 6 children and their 4 well-behaved adults, including some returners from the 1st session. This is the project the children made.

Stampin' Up! Foxy Friends

It was the first outing of my Foxy Friends bundle and was perfect for the children to use. As the stamp set is photopolymer they could see where they were stamping to position the face and paws.

We used additional stamps from a few other sets to create the scene – the sentiment is from Balloon Builders, the butterflies from Perpertual Birthday Calendar and the small flower from Love & Affection.

They enjoyed creating this cute cat and the garden it is sitting in, complete with landscaped lawn!

Due to the popularity of the 2 Card & Cuppa for Children sessions, I’ll be holding a third and final session for these summer holidays on Wednesday 24th August. Book your place here.

As well as the Card & Cuppa for Children sessions, we also held our regular Card & Cuppa sessions at our other two venues. Pop back tomorrow to see the project from last week.

Vertical Greetings Class Projects 5 & 6

Over the past couple of days I’ve been showing you the projects we made at my recent Vertical Greetings Class.

Here are the final two projects using Mint Macaron as the layer.

Stampin' Up! Vertical Greetings

We used the Stampin’ Write Markers to colour the part of the tree we required on the above card.

Stampin' Up! Vertical Greetings

To create the variegated effect on the trees, we inked up the tree using Mint Macaron and then randomly coloured over the leaves using Cucumber Crush.

Here they all are together. Wouldn’t they make a fabulous little gift for someone?

Vertical Greetings Class Projects 3 & 4

Yesterday I showed you projects 1 and 2. Today is the turn of the 3rd and 4th projects from Monday’s Papercrafting: Vertical Greetings Class.

These are the pair of notecards with the Delightful Dijon layers.

Stampin' Up! Vertical Greetings

On the card above, we performed a little extra topiary on the tree and used the markers to colour the pots.

Stampin' Up! Vertical Greetings

The ‘Just Because’ card was the most complicated of the 6 as it required a bow to be tied in the Metallic Thread. A bit time-consuming, but worth it for the final effect.

The attendees had the option to purchase either the Class only or the Class Bundle. The bundle contained the stamp set and a spool of the Copper Metallic Thread that they used during the class and then took home with them afterwards.

They also had the option of changing the greetings I’d chosen for the projects to any of the 6 greetings in the stamp set.

Pop back tomorrow to see the final two projects from the class.

Vertical Greetings Class Projects 1 & 2

Earlier this week I held my monthly Papercrafting Class.

This month it was the turn of the Stamp Set class and as several people had expressed an interest in a particular stamp set from the Annual Catalogue, I decided to run a class using it.

The stamp set we used was Vertical Greetings and here are the first two projects.

Stampin' Up! Vertical Greetings

Stampin' Up! Vertical Greetings

Each project used the 2015-2017 In Color Ink Pads, Stampin’ Write Markers and cardstock.

The additional items were Copper Metallic Thread, Notecards, SNAIL, Dimensionals and Tear & Tape, Paper Snips and a Paper Trimmer. Plus some Wink of Stella (Clear) for an added bit of shimmer.

When I first started using this set, I began to design projects using full size cards and found that something just didn’t look right, so I changed to notecards and everything just flowed from there.

I created 2 projects, one landscape and one portrait using Watermelon Wonder, Delightful Dijon and Mint Macaron layers.

Pop back tomorrow for the 3rd and 4th projects we made.
