Watch the Birdie!

I’ve set myself a challenge. For each new stamp set I use, I am trying to recreate at least one project that is inspired by the projects in the catalogue.

Here is the next one, inspired by page 89.

Stampin' Up! Badges & Banners

This one uses the Badges and Banner Bundle (buy the Stamp set and matching Punch Bundle and save 10%).

I love how the catalogue lists the items used to create the project too.

I’ve made a few changes to the project in the catalogue. The background in the catalogue is created using a sheet of DSP, but I’ve created my own using the Work of Art Stamp Set, Smoky Slate Ink and a strip of Whisper White Cardstock. Also, in the catalogue, the project is mounted onto a Notecard, whereas I’ve used a piece of Thick A4 Whisper White Cardstock as my base card.

More Touches of Texture

Earlier this week I showed you a card I’d made using the new Touches of Texture Stamp Set.

As I couldn’t put the stamp set down, I made another project!

 Stampin' Up! Touches of Texture

For this card, I decided to recreate this design I’d used before. This is a great way of getting inspiration for using a new colour or stamp set.

I’ve previously wanted to make a ‘Just Beecause’ sentiment in the past and achieved it by a lot of masking using Washi Tape. Of course, there is a tiny ‘Just beecause’ sentiment in the new Hostess Set, but I don’t have that set and also wanted something a little bigger.

I just love those little bees, they are so cute. I coloured them with Wink of Stella, bodies in Gold and wings in Clear, not sure if you can see it very well in the close-up picture below.

Stampin' Up! Touches of Texture

I’m running a Touches of Textures Class on Monday 18th July where attendees will make 6 cards using the Touches of Textures Stamp Set. Booking closes on Monday 4th July so click here for more information.

A Touch of Texture

Today I’m showing you a card using the new Touches of Texture Stamp Set.

Stampin' Up! Touches of Texture

This stamp set has 15 stamps and comes in either Wood Mount or Clear Mount.

These sorts of stamp sets aren’t normally my style, but, as I started to use it, I had to force myself to put it down as I loved it and could see so many uses for it.

The design above is again inspired by the catalogue and I’ve put my own bright twist on it by using Cucumber Crush as an accent colour.

If you’d like to make six cards using this stamp set then sign up for my Touches of Texture Class on Monday 18th July. Booking closes on 4th July.

Last week’s Card & Cuppa – Penned & Painted

My weekend has been a bit of a blur as I’ve been working backstage on a dance show.

This involved ensuring that almost 200 dancers aged 3 to the adult tap group, across 43 dance routines, were on the stage at the right time. I think this is what people refer to when they mention herding cats!

As it is Monday again, it’s time to show you last week’s Card & Cuppa project.

Stampin' Up! Penned & Painted

This uses some new products including the gorgeous Penned & Painted stamp set, Peekaboo Peach and the Classic Label punch.

We only used three colours for this project, but as the centre of the leaves and flowers were stamped off first, it looked like we were using twice that amount. This is a great way to more out of your colours.

The project we are making today is going to be a Birthday card for a child so pop back next Monday to see that project.

Next week is the start of my additional Card & Cuppa Session, so if you’d like to join us on Monday or the new Thursday session then make sure you book your place by 18:00 the night before so that I have enough kits available and space reserved at the cafes.

Stamp-a-Stack – Project 5

I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at the very different cards we made during the recent Stamp-a-Stack and that it is showing you the love for the neglected carryover products too.

This is the 5th and final card in the series.

Stampin' Up! Papillon Potpourri

It is in shades of blue, but could easily be changed for shades of purple, orange or yellow instead.

This final design uses quite a lot of stamp sets, but the finished design is gorgeous and I really like the ‘splat’ background that pulls everything together.

Stamp-a-Stack – Project 4

Today I’m showing you the 4th project from the recent Stamp-a-Stack class. At the class, all of the attendees made 10 cards (2 each of 5 designs) in 3 hours.

One of the designs was for a child and another for a male. Here is the card suitable for a male.

Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree

It uses one of the stamps I ordered as part of my Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Starter Kit over 6 years ago and is one of the few Wood Mount sets I own. I think I’ll be distraught if and when it finally retires.

These cards are such fun to make as no two are the same with the sponging of the sunset/sunrise.

A tip I gave the attendees for this project was to build the colour gradually as you can always add more. It’s much more difficult to take it away. However, if they did overdo the darker colours, I explained how going over the project with the more yellow colour helped to even everything out again.

I hope that last bit makes some sort of sense!

I really like how striking this card is.

Pop back tomorrow to see the final card we made.

Stamp-a-Stack – Project 3

Here is the third project from the recent Stamp-a-Stack.

When I was designing this project I had a friend in mind who adores sunflowers.

Stampin' Up! Grateful Bunch

This card is one that doesn’t have a sentiment so could be suitable for a Birthday, Thank you, Thinking of You or just a simple ‘Hello’. Who wouldn’t be cheered up by receiving this card?

I can confirm that the friend I had in mind loved it for his Birthday card 🙂

It’s really quick and easy to make and uses just one stamp set, one ink pad and 2 punches.

Pop back tomorrow for the 4th card in the series.

Stamp-a-Stack – Project 2

Here is the second project from the recent Stamp-a-Stack class.

Stampin' Up! Flower Shop

This one again used some neglected carry-over products.

Pop back tomorrow for project 3.

Stamp-a-Stack – Project 1

I know that we are excited about the new goodies in the Catalogue, but we musn’t neglect the stamp sets that have carried over.

I held a Stamp-a-Stack session recently, where attendees create 10 cards (2 each of 5 designs) and these all used carry-over stamp sets.

Here is the first project, a card suitable for a child.

Stampin' Up! Bear Hugs

Isn’t it cute?! You could easily change the colour of the balloons to a child’s favourite colour, or add an age number.

Pop back tomorrow for the second card from the class.

Last week’s Card & Cuppa – Badges & Banners

It’s Monday morning again (albeit a soggy one!), so that means I get to show you the project we made at last week’s Card & Cuppa Session.

This card was suitable for a male and was the first Card & Cuppa project using products from the new catalogue.

Stampin' Up! Badges & Banners

Again, I took inspiration for this project from the new Catalogue. I love how the Annual Catalogue gives you an idea of how to use each stamp set.

We created our own striped background and have used a punched piece to create the tails of the shield.

There are 7 new products on this project, can you spot them all?

If you would like to join us for next week’s Card & Cuppa session, make sure you’ve registered your interest by 18:00 on Sunday so that I can have enough packs available and reserve the space at the cafe.
