Customer Birthday – Grateful Bunch

A lady who has recently joined my Card & Cuppa classes had their Birthday last week, so I obviously made her a card.

Stampin' Up! UK Grateful Bunch

It uses the Grateful Bunch Stamp set and Bunch of Blossoms Punch. I’ve then used Watercolor Pencils to colour the images.

Do you ever get those moments when you wonder why something doesn’t stick?  I had one of those moments when I used Dimensionals to attach the flowers to the card. I’d only gone and forgotten to take the backing off!

If you’d like to join us for classes then my Classes page has more information and booking information.

Last week’s Card & Cuppa – Yummy in My Tummy

At last week’s Card & Cuppa classes we made a project suitable for children (both young and old!) using the Yummy in My Tummy Stamp Set

I made a similar out of this world card for my Husband’s Birthday a few weeks ago!

Stampin' Up! UK Yummy in my Tummy

How cute is this little monster/alien?

I love the effect of him materialising.  To create this effect, firstly use a Stampin’ Write Marker to scribble on a Clear Block, then stamp it onto a piece of card.  To finish, stamp the monster image over the top.

We defined the spots and markings with Watercolor Pencils.  The eyes are from the carryover Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set punched out with the Owl Punch.

Using the Playful Backgrounds stamp set to stamp tone-on-tone made it look like a martian planet.  Tying a piece of Baker’s Twine around both the balloon and arm added to the cute feel.

I hope you enjoyed this fun and jolly card.

To join us for next week’s Card & Cuppa classes make sure you book your place by 18:00 the day before.

March Birthday madness

Do you have those months where everyone needs a Birthday card?  March is one of those months in our house.

Last week, the young lady next door reached double figures and one of my nieces turned into a teenager. So, I made two similar cards using the Number of Years Stamp Set.

Stampin' Up! UK Number of Years

This stamp set is really versatile and with the matching framelits it’s a great ‘go to’ set.

I teamed Watermelon Wonder die cut numbers and punched stars with So Saffron background stars.

I’m hoping April will be a nice break from the March Birthday madness!

Make a Medallion ‘Thank You’ Cards

If you placed an order with me recently, you will have received one of these medallion ‘Thank You’ cards.

Stampin' Up! UK Make a Medallion SAB

This notecard uses the Make a Medallion Stamp Set, one of the Sale-A-Bration items you can earn for FREE.  Don’t forget that Sale-A-Bration ends today.

This stamp set is extremely versatile with several stamps that you layer together to create the fabulous and detailed medallion.  It also has several sentiments that fit perfectly into the centre gap too.

There are tiny stamps in the set and these can be used inside the medallion.  I chose to use one on the corners of the base card.

By using three colours from the In Color collection I created the medallion on Whisper White Cardstock and cut out the image and scallop circle layer using the Layering Circles dies.  Finally I added a strip of ribbon in a co-ordinating colour.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Kinda Eclectic suitable for Mum

As it was Mothering Sunday yesterday, for last week’s Card & Cuppa I designed a project suitable for Mum.

Kinda Eclectic Stampin' Up! UK

The purple project uses the fabulous Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set from the Annual Catalogue.

Firstly, we masked a section of the background using strips of card secured with Washi Tape and sponge daubered between them.  Leaving the bottom section masked we then stamped the leaves on top.  By stamping the butterflies multiple times we created dark, medium and light images.

Finally we added a sentiment, a strip of baker’s twine and the butterflies, after giving them the Wink of Stella treatment of course!

I really like this pretty purple scene and can’t wait to try it with greens, blues and pinks too.  Watch this space…

During Monday’s class, we discovered that a group of butterflies is known as a kaleidoscope, crafting and nature knowledge combined!

To join us at next week’s Card & Cuppa please make sure you book your place by 18:00 the night before.

Last week’s Card & Cuppa – SAB Any Occasion

At last week’s Card & Cuppa we used the SAB Any Occasion Stamp Set to create this fun banner card.

SAB Any Occasion Stampin' Up! UK

It’s a card that uses one colour for the strings and then lots of different colours for the ‘banners’.  There are so many different options with this set.

By stamping the tiny flags multiple times we created a fun look.

The project is finished with a strip of Playful Palette Washi Tape, Whisper White Baker’s Twine and some Rhinestones to add a touch of bling.

Sale-A-Bration runs until the end of this month so there is just over a week to order your favourite.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Hey, Chick

Happy Monday!

At last week’s Card & Cuppa I used a SAB Stamp Set that I hadn’t shown much love to called ‘Hey, Chick’.

Here is the project:

Hey Chick Stampin' Up! UK

How cute it this?  I love how the chicken on the fence is looking inquisitively at you!

This project took a little bit of pre-work to make sure everything was in the correct place.  The secret is to draw lines that you can cover up with the design.

To create this scene we used the Hardwood Stamp and the Classic Label Punch for the fence.  The ‘funky’ chicken is coloured with Watercolor Pencils in Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral.

As Thick Baker’s Twine is a bit too chunky for this project, we split it into three strands to make the lines across the top, before adding the sentiment.

I think this would make a lovely Easter Card or an Any Occasion Card.

To join us at one of next week’s Card & Cuppa Classses, remember to book your place by 18:00 the night before.

High Tide Class Project

Last week was my Papercrafting: High Tide Class where each attendee made 6 cards using the High Tide Stamp Set.

Here is one of the High Tide Class projects:

High Tide Stampin' Up UK

I love the simplicity of this any occasion card, it’s certainly a ‘less is more’ project.

Using an Aqua Painter on Watercolor Paper creates the misty effect with the oval window to draw the eye in.

By twisting together two strands of Baker’s Twine, we made our own nautical themed thread too.

If you’d like to see the other 5 projects we made then head over to my boards on Pinterest.

The next class is my Spring Card Crafting Extravaganza on 27th March and 10th April.  Book your place by 13th March.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Dragonfly Dreams creates a buzz

Last week’s Card & Cuppa was a hive of activity with 7 attendees creating the following project:

Dragonfly Dreams Stampin' Up! UK

Even though I don’t take the Big Shot to Card & Cuppa classes, we still used an Embossing Folder and Framelit.  You don’t have to have a Big Shot to use dies and embossing folders.

To create the honeycomb effect, we turned the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder into a Stamp.  We did this by using a Stampin’ Pad to ink up the Embossing Folder applied pressure to transfer the ink.  Cutting out sections of the Crushed Curry piece and then sticking to the Very Vanilla piece made a hive effect.

Bees were stamped directly onto the project with another onto a separate piece of cardstock.  As we were fussy cutting the separate bee, we created a cutting guide by drawing around the co-ordinating framelit.  This gave a more professional look with smooth curved outlines around the feelers and wings.

A play on words sentiment and Linen Thread add the finishing touches with Wink of Stella on the yellow parts of the bee for some sparkle.

If you’d like to join us at next week’s Card & Cuppa classes, please make sure you book your place by 18:00 the night before.
