Saying Goodbye – Designer Series Paper

Are you a fan of the Designer Series Paper from the Annual Catalogue?

The Blooms & Bliss DSP and the Serene Scenery DSP Stack are both big favourites of mine this year.

This is a simple project from my recent Spring Card Crafting Extravaganza that uses a piece as a background for a notecard.  Other projects from this class are on my Pinterest Board and I’ll be adding more shortly.

Here are a few more cards we’ve made at Card & Cuppa classes using this year’s DSP offerings.

Saying Goodbye – Hostess Sets

I’m sure I’m not going to be the only one who is going to miss the Love You Lots Hostess Set when it retires.

This set has been so much fun to use and obviously I adored the frog image in it!

However, I found the hedgehog image really great to use too.  Here’s another card from the Spring Card Crafting Extravaganza Class using this set.

Love you Lots from Stampin' Up!

I’ve loved using Blender Pens to colour the hedgehogs by pulling the ink from the stamped image.  Stampin’ Write Markers have been great for colouring the flower too.  You can make lots of these in a short space of time and even add a relevant sentiment when you need to use it.

This card is a Notecard Base and it works beautifully with the co-ordinating cardstock and Baker’s Twine.

The sentiment is from Hopeful Thoughts and we punched out part of the phrase. It’s a cute card that would brighten your day if you were feeling under the weather.

Here is another project from my archives, a CASE of the catalogue using the fabulous frog.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Punch Art card for Easter or Spring

I hope you’re enjoying the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend.

At last week’s Card & Cuppa classes, we made this bright punch art card for Easter or Spring.

Falling Flowers Daffodil Punch Art Stampin' Up!

I’d seen other punch art daffodils on Pinterest but they were made with 5 petal punches.  As daffodils have 6 petals these versions were bothering me, so I had to find a 6 petal flower instead.

In my Annual Catalogue I found the pointed petal flower in the fabulous Falling Flowers Stamp Set which has 6 petals.  The trumpet is from the Blossom Builder Punch.

Of course, using Daffodil Delight ink onto Daffodil Delight card is a must for making daffodils.  The attendees had the choice of making white, yellow, or a combination, plus a choice of trumpet colours too. We cut out the flowers by hand, but you could use the matching May Flower Framelits if you prefer.

The jar from the Jar of Love Stamp Set and retiring Cucumber Crush Thick Baker’s Twine to coordinate with the stems add the finishing touches.

Here is a better view of the trumpets.

Falling Flowers Daffodil Punch Art Stampin' Up!

Due to the Bank Holidays and other commitments, Card & Cuppa classes are on a different schedule for the next few weeks.  Monday classes will return on Monday 8th May.  Thursday classes will run on 20th April and then 4th May.

Please make sure you have booked your place by 18:00 the night before.

Fun with Stampin’ Up! at OnStage Live in Amsterdam

I’ve just returned from a Stampin’ Up! Event, OnStage Live in Amsterdam.  An event where a group of 800+ Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from across Europe joined together.

An important part of these events is sharing inspiration, and we achieve this by swapping ideas.  Each person makes multiples of the same design and then swaps their projects with other Demonstrators.  As a result, you receive that number of ideas back and no two are the same.

Here is my swap

For You Card made using Touches of Texture Stamp Set, Jar of Love Stamp Set and Watercolor Pencils from Stampin' Up!

You may see that it is very similar to a recent Card & Cuppa project – this is purely intentional!

All of the stamping uses Chocolate Chip ink, with the flowers and leaves coloured with Watercolor Pencils.  I made 64 of these, 16 in each colour way.

For You Card made using Touches of Texture Stamp Set, Jar of Love Stamp Set and Watercolor Pencils from Stampin' Up!

I’ve layered a sentiment from the Jar of Love Stamp Set onto three strands of Linen Thread.  The finishing touches are Wink of Stella bees and Pearls for the flower centres.

Two products from this project are on the retiring list, Wink of Stella Gold from the bee bodies, plus the Pearls which are being reconfigured.

A benefit of attending the event is being one of the first people to see the Brand New Annual Catalogue. Try imagining the moment when 800+ very excited people get their hands on a new catalogue at the same time.

We saw new products up close and also made projects with some of them too.  As well as the excitement over the new catalogue another higlight is presentations from key Stampin’ Up! staff and fellow Demonstrators.

These events happen in April and November each year so why not come along too.  If you like the sound of what I’ve described, you can attend too by joining my team and becoming a Demonstrator.

Saying Goodbye – In Color 2015-2017

As we make way for new products in the new catalogue, we also have to say goodbye to one set of In Colors too.  This time it’s the In Color 2015-2017 collection.

Here is a project from my recent Spring Card Crafting Extravaganza class that uses Mint Macaron.  Other colours in this collection are Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, Tip-Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder.

Baby Bear from Stampin' Up!

Although some of the items are retiring/no longer available/being reconfigured, the colours and sentiments can easily be changed to suit the occasion.  Baby Bear is a great set and the cute bow can be any colour you like.

If you haven’t headed over to the Retiring List yet then make sure you do.  You need to grab those items without delay.

Saying Goodbye – Designer Tin of Cards

I recently held a Spring Card Crafting Extravaganza.

Each of the attendees made 24 cards using their class kit which included the Designer Tin of Cards Stamp Set.  They also decorated the fabulous Sale-A-Bration tin to hold their cards too.

Here is one of the cards we made that mixes Designer Tin of Cards and the now discontinued Gorgeous Grunge.

Designer Tin of Cards and Gorgeous Grunge from Stampin' Up!

The versatile Designer Tin of Cards Stamp Set is on the Retiring List. Gorgeous Grunge was on the list too, but that is now no longer available.  However, you could use other splatter images instead.

This is such a quick and easy card to make and you could easily use one of the sentiments in the stamp set to change it another occasion.  It looks great in Pool Party and Crumb Cake, but would work just as well in other colours too.

Don’t forget to act quickly if you want to get your hands on the Designer Tin of Cards Stamp Set.

Once they’re gone, they’re gone!

Retiring List is here

As the brand new Stampin’ Up! Catalogue will be available shortly, we need to make room for all of the shiny new things.

This means that some items need to retire, including some firm favourites.  Check out the items that are leaving us by clicking on the picture below:

Stampin' Up! UK Retiring Products

As these items are only available while stocks last, you need to snap up any items you want ASAP.  Once they’re gone, they’re gone for good.

The best way to order items from the retiring list is via my 24/7 online shop, as you will be able to check availability in realtime.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Timeless Textures

At last week’s Card & Cuppa class we used Stampin’ Write Markers in several different ways.

Stampin' Up! UK Touches of Texture

We inked up the stem of flowers image from the Touches of Texture Stamp Set using Stampin’ Write Markers.  This allows you to put the ink exactly where you want on the image.  Before you stamp onto the cardstock, don’t forget to ‘huff’ on the stamp to remoisten the ink.  We used the combination of Emerald Envy and Rose Red.

Once we had Emerald Envy leaves and Rose Red flowers, we used a Blender Pen to colour them and soften the image.

Using the lovely lace image we stamped it in So Saffron down one edge.  The Early Espresso bees scattered across the project are once again coloured using a Stampin’ Write Marker, this time in So Saffron.

The sentiment is from the Jar of Love Stamp Set with a co-ordinating Rose Red layer.

A strip of Emerald Envy Ribbon and five Rhinestones added to the centre of each open flower finished the project.

Due to the Easter Bank Holiday, there is only one Card & Cuppa session next week.  If you’d like to join us on Thursday then please book your place by 18:00 on Wednesday.

Birthday card using Butterfly Basics

Another of my regular Card & Cuppa attendees celebrated their Birthday earlier this week.  This is the card I made them.

Stampin' Up! UK Butterfly Basics

The stunning image from the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set was my starting point for this card.  The recipient is a fan of both Crumb Cake and Sweet Sugarplum, so my colour choice reflects this.

I began by using Chocolate Chip to stamp the flower image and I then stamped the butterflies in Sweet Sugarplum for contrast.

By using Watercolor Pencils to colour the image I was able to create a soft look.  A touch of Wink of Stella Clear over the flowers just gives a little sparkle.

A punched banner sentiment using the ‘Happy Birthday’ from Balloon Celebration, a punched butterfly and Rhinestones finish the project.

Customer Birthday – Grateful Bunch

A lady who has recently joined my Card & Cuppa classes had their Birthday last week, so I obviously made her a card.

Stampin' Up! UK Grateful Bunch

It uses the Grateful Bunch Stamp set and Bunch of Blossoms Punch. I’ve then used Watercolor Pencils to colour the images.

Do you ever get those moments when you wonder why something doesn’t stick?  I had one of those moments when I used Dimensionals to attach the flowers to the card. I’d only gone and forgotten to take the backing off!

If you’d like to join us for classes then my Classes page has more information and booking information.
