Christmas Card Club – July 2023

Today I’m sharing my first Christmas Card Club project of 2023.

Christmas Card Club is where those who have signed up make 2 of a pre-designed card using the class kit and instruction from a YouTube video tutorial. The projects are made in their own time with a new video released on the 25th of each month (July-November).

For July’s project, I chose to make some Christmas baubles.

Using the Bright & Beautiful 6×6 DSP for the baubles meant that I had many colours to choose from. As I wanted a green shade, I chose Pretty Peacock for my basecard and stamping layer.

First a splat design from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set was stamped tone-on-tone on the background piece.

Next the lengths of Parakeet Party Metallic Woven Ribbon were added.

Then, punched circle shapes were covered with strips of the Bright & Beautiful 6×6 DSP, with the overhang carefully trimmed away. This leaves lots of scrap pieces to make some more baubles.

These were then stuck over the lengths of ribbon, with the central bauble raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, a bunny ears bow was added to the top of the central bauble.

The process is then repeated for the second card.

Christmas Card Club 2022 – July

This is the second project from this year’s Christmas Card Club.

Inspiration for this project is taken from page 13 of the July-December Mini Catalogue.

July’s project uses the FREE SAB Gold & Silver 6×6 DSP, plus some of the new In Colors for 2022-2024. Additional colours are Garden Green, Daffodil Delight and Basic White.

Don’t forget that SAB runs until the end of August and items are only available while stocks last.

For this card, all of the die-cut shapes are from the Spruced Up Outlines Dies. The sentiment is from the coordinating Spruced Up Stamp Set. These are available as a Bundle with a discount, so be sure to take advantage of the offer.

Using the piece of SAB DSP, this creates a look of wallpaper. A length of In Color Metallic Ribbon hides the join.

Each outline shape has matching inner pieces. To give the look of wrapping paper, each present has an inner cut from In Color 6×6 DSP.

The tree and presents are then arranged, with the front most one on Dimensionals.

A length of In Color Baker’s Twine creates a ‘bunny ears’ bow off to the side. Check out this video for more details on how to tie this bow.

Finally, a star, with Wink of Stella coating tops the tree, with others across the project.

Saying Hello – In Color 2022-2024: Starry Sky

The third new In Color, in alphabetical order is Starry Sky.

Starry Sky is a lovely deep blue and as with the other colours, I have made a monochrome project in the same design.

Once again, it uses the In Color 6×6 DSP stack, this time the side with the stripe pattern. This stripe pattern is quite versatile as you can use the stripes vertically, horizontally and also at an angle.

Coordinating Metallic Woven Ribbon hides the join.

The Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set provides the image, cut out with the matching Dragonflies Punch.

This has been given a coat of Wink of Stella that adds a touch of extra sparkle.

It sits on a hexagon cut using the Beautiful Shapes Dies.

Finally, In Color Matte Decorative Dots are added.

Like the previous two In Color projects, this is sentiment free, so it makes a great any occasion card. You can have a card like this in your emergency stash and either send it as it is, or add a sentiment.

Saying Hello – In Color 2022-2024: Parakeet Party

The next In Color I’m saying ‘hello’ to is Parakeet Party.

I think this is one of my favourites of the new In Colors from the new Annual Catalogue.

Following on from the Orchid Oasis project, here is another monochrome card in the same design.

I love using monochrome designs to show off a colour. You can see how vibrant and zingy this one is.

Again, this project uses the coordinating In Color DSP stack for the diagonal strip, following the pattern line for the angle.

The In Color Metallic Woven Ribbon hides the join.

A square, cut using the new Stylish Shapes Dies sits in a diamond shape, once again following the lines of the DSP.

This has a leaf from the Forever Fern Stamp Set cut out with the Greenery Dies sitting on top.

Finally, coordinating In Color Matte Decorative Dots are added.

Being sentiment free, this card can be used for any occasion. It could also have a sentiment added just before it is sent.

Saying Hello – In Color 2022-2024: Orchid Oasis

Stampin’ Up! add five new ‘In Colors’ to their range each year that stay for two years.

This year, I’m introducing them in alphabetical order, so first up is Orchid Oasis.

As you know, I love monochrome projects, so I teamed the Orchid Oasis products with Basic White.

A piece of the In Color DSP Stack is cut on the diagonal, with the coordinating Metallic Woven Ribbon across the join.

One of the butterflies from the Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set is cut out using the Brilliant Wings Dies. It is then given a touch of sparkle with Wink of Stella.

The butterfly sits on a circle cut from the Beautiful Shapes Dies.

Finally, three different shades of the In color Matte Decorative Dots are added.

This is a great any occasion card as it can either be left as it is, or have a sentiment added at a later date.

It is also really quick and easy to make and you could create a batch really easily.

In Color Flowers of Friendship

Do you have those moments when your crafting mojo goes?

Mine went recently, so I gave it a little kickstart by CASEing a project from Page 21 of the Annual Catalogue.

If you’re not sure what CASEing is all about, then head to this video for an explanation.

I chose a colour combination of two In Colors, Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent and teamed them with Calypso Coral and Very Vanilla.

My background is given some texture using the Tasteful Textiles 3D Embossing Folder. I’ve then added a touch of colour using a Blending Brush and Pale Papaya.

A strip of the In Color 6×6 DSP is then added.

Next, I stamped and punched the flowers and leaves from the Flowers of Friendship Bundle (Flowers of Friendship Stamp Set & Flowers & Leaves Punch). Make sure you take advantage of the discounted Catalogue Bundles.

Using a Blender Pen to pull the ink colours the flowers in.

Two of each flower are layered together to make a more full bloom and a sequin from the Artistry Blooms Sequins pack is added to the centre.

These are then added to the project using Dimensionals.

A sentiment is then tucked behind the flowers.

Finally, some coordinating Genial Gems are added to the project for a touch of sparkle.

Customer Thank You in Pale Papaya

These Pale Papaya projects were the thank you cards for those who shopped with me in August.

Old Olive and Very Vanilla complete the colour combination.

Using the Art Gallery Stamp Set the flowers and leaves are stamped. These are then cut out using the Hippo & Friends Dies.

They are given a gentle touch of sparkle with some Wink of Stella.

The sentiment is then stamped in the top corner and a piece of In Color DSP sits at the bottom section of the project.

A strip of coordinating ribbon then hides the join of the DSP.

Finally, the die cut piece is raised up using Dimensionals, before In Color Jewels are dotted around for a finishing touch.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Floral Squares Dies

My Floral Squares Dies had their first outing at last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa Class.

I chose Very Vanilla for the basecard and squares, with Soft Succulent as my background colour. Additional splashes of colour were from Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya and Polished Pink, from this year’s In Color Collection. They were joined by So Saffron.

Each square has a backing piece of Soft Succulent 6×6 DSP, to help separate them from the background.

Then, the colourful flower pieces are given a coating of Wink of Stella before they are added to each square.

My sentiment, from the Art Gallery Stamp Set has loops of ribbon at each end.

Loose Flower Flourishes in the three flower In Colors are then attached.

Finally, some Pearls are stuck to the centre of some of the flowers.

I think this project would look really great in monochrome. I’ll add it to my list of things to try!

This project uses Fresh Freesia, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen.

Each strip of DSP is from the In Color 6×6 DSP Stack, cut at 1.5″. They are then cut down from 6″ to the required length before being attached.

A length of coordinating Open Weave Ribbon is also popped across at an angle.

‘Hello’ is from the Artistially Inked Stamp Set, and is the only piece that is stuck on straight.

Finally, clusters of In Color Jewels are dotted around the project.

This would be another great design to recreate as Teacher Thank You cards. They are quick and easy to make and the colours and sentiments can easily be changed.

Although this 6×6 DSP isn’t in the current DSP Special Offer, lots of other packs that you can use to recreate this design are.
