Due to the Easter Bank Holiday, there wasn’t a Card & Cuppa session last week.

So, today I’ve decided to share six projects from the 2023-2024 Annual Catalogue that use some of the products leaving us at the end of the month.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Artistically Inked

Last week was an exciting week. I held my first in-person Card & Cuppa class in over 2.5 years. It was also at a new venue too.

As I have been teaching classes over ZOOM, the attendees haven’t had access to the stamps, dies, punches etc they normally would. There are a lot of fun products for them to get their hands on.

What better place to start for our first class back than at ‘A’, with the Artistically Inked Stamp Set and matching Artistic Dies.

I’ve used Sweet Sorbet, So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz, along with Basic White for this project.

The background is made from various generations of stamping.

Next, the flowers and leaves are stamped onto a separate piece, with the smaller flowers in second generation stamping for a slightly lighter tone.

These are all cut out using the coordinating Artistic Dies.

All of the pieces are layered together, with the large flower and leaves stuck with Dimensionals to raise them.

A sentiment is then stamped and cut out, before being added across the centre of the flower.

Finally, some Iridescent Rhinestones are added for a touch of sparkle.

It’s lovely to be back at face-to-face classes. This is the first of my classes to return to an in-person format, others will hopefully follow next year when I have sourced a suitable venue.

50th Birthday in Orange & Gold

A friend celebrated their 50th Birthday last week.

For their card, I chose a combination of Pale Papaya and Mango Melody, with Basic White and Gold accents.

I chose to make a larger square card. Mine is 14cm x 14cm.

Using the FREE SAB Silver & Gold 6×6 DSP for the background, I made a colour flare from the centre using a Blending Brush and ink. This gives a touch of colour to the background without losing the white.

On top of this sit cut out flowers and leaves in Basic White Cardstock and Gold Foil Sheets. The shapes are cut from the Artistic Dies and Flowers of Home Dies.

These were layered, along with a swoosh of coordinating In Color Ribbon.

The Alphabest Stamp set provides the ’50’, on a cut out from the All That Dies. This is then given an orange edge using the Blending Brush.

Tiny Flowers are stamped using the Artistically Inked Stamp Set and cut out using the matching Artistic Dies.

These are given a touch of sparkle using Wink of Stella and Iridescent Rhinestone centres.

I also made an envelope for the card, but didn’t take a picture of that!

Saying Hello – In Color 2022-2024: Sweet Sorbet

The penultimate In Color from the new Annual Catalogue, in alphabetical order is Sweet Sorbet.

I’ve once again used the same monochrome design as I did for the Orchid Oasis, Parakeet Party and Starry Sky projects.

In Color 6×6 DSP cut on the diagonal provides the background, with a length of coordinating Metallic Woven Ribbon to cover the join.

The Artistically Inked Stamp Set and Artistic Dies create the flowers. These sit on a shape cut using the new Stylish Shapes Dies. They remind me of the red roses that flower outside my front door at this time of year.

To finish, three In Color Matte Decorative Dots are scattered across the project.

As with the other versions, this card is sentiment free and suitable for any occasion.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Blushing Bride Butterflies

Last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project had Blushing Bride butterflies as the feature.

Blushing Bride Butterflies. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs Along with Blushing Bride, the colours were Pear Pizzazz and Fresh Freesia, plus Very Vanilla to create a softer look.

The sentiment, from the Art Gallery Stamp Set was stamped first. That way, if I made a mistake, I could use the other side!

Then, the strip of coordinating Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon was stuck down the side.

Pierced Blooms Dies provide the small leaves and the flower, with the large leaf stem from the Artistic Dies.

Wink of Stella was then added to the centre of the flower, and the butterflies. The butterflies are from the Brilliant Wings Dies.

By sticking the smaller butterflies down first, I was able to see how much space I had available to create the rest of the project.

I then cut the bottom leaves off the large stem and started layering the leaves together, mixing the ones I’d cut off to the left and right.

The large butterfly was then stuck to the flower and this was then attached using Mini Dimensionals.

Pearls then provided the finishing touch.

Today I’m sharing a card for another 50th Birthday being celebrated this September.

I thought it was the perfect time to take inspiration from the project on the front cover of the Annual Catalogue.

It uses the Expressions in Ink Suite Collection. The two pieces of DSP create a background.

Using Gold Foil Sheets, the ’50’ is cut from the Playful Alphabet Dies, with the leaves from the Artistic Dies from the Suite. This coordinates with the gold foiling running through the DSP.

The flowers from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set are stamped in Polished Pink to coordinate with the DSP, with the leaves in Pear Pizzazz. These are all cut using the Dies.

Each piece is then layered together, along with a length of Gold Shimmer Ribbon. A sentiment then sits on top of the roses.

Finally, a touch of Wink of Stella is added to the centre of the flowers, with sequins from the Ephemera Pack dotted around the project.

A Fabulous 50th

A very good friend celebrated their 50th Birthday earlier this week.

As they are a fan of Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry and sparkle, my colour combination was easy to decide.

I chose to make a square card and I used lots of different products to create this project.

The images and die cutting are from the Artistically Inked Bundle (Artistically Inked Stamp Set and Artistic Dies), Quiet Meadow Stamp Set and the Playful Alphabet Dies.

To begin, the background piece was stamped with the small flowers from Artistically Inked, plus some splats from Quiet Meadow.

This was then run through the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. Next, using a Blending Brush, I gave a vintage feel to the background. I like how it looks like dried flowers.

Different generations of stamping create the flowers for the centre piece.

The layering begins with the die cut leaves, then the Fine Art Ribbon and Glitter Organdy Ribbon. As there isn’t a Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blend Combo, the light Blackberry Bliss Blend was a good substitute to colour the ribbon.

I then layered the flowers together on a separate piece of cardstock and popped some more die cut leaf pieces around them. Raising the whole piece up on Dimensionals added a lot more depth.

’50’ is coated in Wink of Stella and added to the corner. Again, using Dimensionals, the sentiment lays across the flowers. As this project was being hand delivered, I used several layers of Dimensionals.

Finally, some Metallic Pearls are dotted around the project.

Vintage Style Floral Thanks

This vintage style thanks card was inspired by a project in the SAB Brochure.

It uses colours from the Regals Collection, Real Red, Crushed Curry and Old Olive. These are combined with Neutrals of Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.

For the background, the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder has been given another outing. As in the previous project, I’ve added a touch of Crumb Cake to give it a vintage look.

Next, the tags are cut using the Tailor Made Tags Dies.

All of the stamping and the other die cutting is from the Artistically Inked Bundle (Artistically Inked Stamp Set & Artistic Dies).

These are arranged on and around the tags, along with the sentiment. This has also been given a vintage touch by using the edge of my Blending Brush.

A length of coordinating Baker’s Twine from the Essentials Pack provides the bow to hold the tags together.

Finally, the tags are stuck down together in one piece.

What to do when your friend who likes turquoise, purple and butterflies has their Birthday.

I know they are a big fan of Pool Party, so I’ve combined it with Highland Heather and Very Vanilla.

The background stamping is from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set, with the die cut leaves from the coordinating Artistic Dies. This is such a fabulous Bundle.

For the butterflies, I’ve cut two using the Brilliant Wings Dies. One is in Pool Party, the other in Vanilla. The Vanilla one has been stamped using the same image as the background. It has also been given a light coating of Wink of Stella to give it a bit of sparkle.

The sentiment is also from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set and this sits raised across the butterflies on Mini Dimensionals.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Stitched Greenery Die

When I showed my Card & (Your) Cuppa attendees this recent project, they asked if they could make a version.

Not wishing to disappoint, I recreated it in different colours and orientation, for last week’s class.

My colour combination for this version is Polished Pink, Soft Sea Foam and Basic White, with Gold accents.

The Stitched Greenery Die creates a beautiful pattern that is great for backgrounds.

Die cut shapes from the Artistic Dies provide the intricate floral outline. Plus the shape for the sentiment and the tiny Polished Pink flowers too. The tiny flowers are given a Wink of Stella coating.

Using a Polished Pink Stampin’ Write Marker, I was able to ink up each word from the Art Gallery Stamp Set sentiment separately to allow it to fit into the shape.

The Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack provide the gold leaves and a swoosh of coordinating In Color Open Weave Ribbon sits behind the sentiment.
