Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – New Year, New Stamp Set

Last week was my first Card & Cuppa class of the year, so I decided to use a new stamp set.

This is the Softly Said Stamp Set and it is an Online Exclusive product, available at my Online Store. The design is inspired by the project shown on the product page there.

For my version of the design, I chose to use Moody Mauve, Flirty Flamingo, Petal Pink and Basic White as my colour combination.

Along with the Softly Said Stamp Set, I also used the Cheerful Daisies Bundle (Stamp Set and Dies) from the Annual Catalogue.

The daisy outlines were stamped tone-on tone for the background. Another daisy was stamped separately in Petal Pink and cut out with the dies.

Using Blending Brushes and Flirty Flamingo ink, a piece of cardstock was coloured and the leafy shape was then cut out from this, again with the dies.

A sentiment from the Softly Said Stamp Set is then stamped with the ends cut using the Banners Pick a Punch.

Everything was then layered, with the sentiment raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, some Iridescent Rhinestones gave a touch of sparkle.

Magenta Madness Just Because

This bright butterflies ‘just because’ card is great for raising a smile.

Magenta Madness Just Because. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs With an almost monochrome feel, my colour combination is Magenta Madness and Basic White.

Using a piece of the Expressions In Ink DSP to create the background is really quick and easy. This piece has some gold running through it too.

The butterflies are cut using the Brilliant Wings Dies. Each one has been given a gentle coat of Wink of Stella.

For the sentiment, I’ve used the Lovely You Stamp Set and layered it onto Magenta Madness cardstock. Both ends are shaped using the Banners Pick a Punch.

Behind the sentiment is a length of the simply Elegant Trim in gold to coordinate with the DSP.

This is a great card to create in batches. Why not make a few and add different sentiments.

FREE Counting Sheep Stamp Set

Have you seen this fabulous Counting Sheep Stamp Set that ewe (see what I did there?) could receive for FREE during SAB?

This cute set of sheep are adorable. There is even a set of FREE coordinating dies available too.

My card is a version of the project on Page 10 of the SAB Brochure.

I’ve stamped on Crumb Cake cardstock in Early Espresso and then used Watercolor Pencils to colour in the sheep and party hats.

I found it easier to use circular motions when colouring with the white and slowly increasing the pressure.

The sheep that looks like it’s dancing makes me smile. They are quite the party animal.

Using a Blender Pen on all of the colouring, except the White, it helped to remove any pencil lines.

The party hats are a combination of Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Pacific Point.

As I used these colours, I chose to use them for the sentiment shapes.

Each piece has been shaped using the Banners Pick a Punch.

Next, a swoosh of White Baker’s Twine is added.

Finally, the sentiment is raised up using Dimensionals.

It’s Your Time to Shine

This very pink project is for a friend who is a big fan of the colour.

They have had some good things happen to them recently, so I wanted to send them a positive card.

It uses the new In Color of Polished Pink, with Basic White.

I’ve based my project on the picture on Page 152 of the Annual Catalogue.

The background is a piece of the Expressions in Ink DSP. A cut out from the Picture This Dies provides the layer above.

Daisies from the Daisy Lane Stamp Set are stamped and then cut out using the Medium Daisy Punch.

These have some Wink of Stella put in the centres and are layered together, then placed over the cut outs.

Edges of the sentiment are shaped using the Banners Pick a Punch before it is attached using Mini Dimensionals.

It's Your Time to Shine. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs A bow made from coordinating In Color Ribbon is stuck beneath the sentiment with a Glue Dot.

Finally, a few In Color Jewels are dotted around the project for a finishing touch.

Summery Sweet Strawberry

The colour combination may look familiar on today’s project.

It’s the same colour combination I used yesterday. While the colours were on my desk, I made another card and created this summery project.

This time it uses the Sweet Strawberry Bundle (Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set and Strawberry Builder Punch).

This Bundle is discounted in the Annual Catalogue.

The bottom section is stamped multiple times with the flower shapes, both the inner and outline images.

Next, strips of Magenta Madness, Mango Melody and Calypso Coral are added. Any overhang is cut away before it is added to the layer.

As with yesterday, the sentiment is stamped and then shaped using the Banners Pick a Punch.

Then, a stamped and punched flower in each colour is added to the sentiment. Each flower has a sequin from the Ephemera Pack in the centre.

The sentiment and flowers are attached using Dimensionals.

Finally, a few more sequins are dotted around the bottom section.

Marvellous Mango Melody, Calypso Coral & Magenta Madness Marbling

How fabulous is this marble background?

Would you believe that it is actually stamped? The Artistically Inked Stamp Set is just amazing.

As a DISTINKTIVE set, it provides even more depth and intensity to the images, making them even more realistic.

It really is one of the ‘must have’ stamp sets from the Annual Catalogue.

Using a colour combination of Mango Melody, Calypso Coral & Magenta Madness, the marble image is stamped multiple times. Each one is stamped off at least once to begin with to soften the tone.

With the beautiful background created and stuck onto a Thick Basic White base card and Magenta Madness layer, it didn’t need much else.

A sentiment from the Stamp Set, with the ends shaped using the Banners Pick a Punch, is stuck onto a shape from the Ephemera Pack. Gold leaves, also from the pack, are then added.

Finally, sequins from the Ephemera Pack are dotted around to add a touch of sparkle.

I love how stylish this card looks. It would be great in other colours too.

Birthday Card Using In Color 2020-2022

If you need a quick and easy card, this Birthday Card using In Color 2020-2022 DSP is the perfect design.

It uses two of the In Colors – Cinnamon Cider and Bumblebee.

The design is another version of this project. If you find a design that works, why not make it in a variety of different ways.

By using two sides of the Bumblebee DSP, the project has multiple patterns.

Shaped edges of the larger piece are cut using the Triple Banner Punch.

The Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set provides the sentiment, cut with the Banners Pick A Punch. This punch is leaving us for a short while, returning in a later publication.

With a length of co-ordinating In Color Ribbon stuck across the project, the sentiment was attached using Mini Dimensionals.

Two Cards For a Pair of Teenagers – Card 2

Yesterday, I shared a Birthday card I’d made for a teenager.

Here is the second project that appeared from the first.

Obviously, it uses the same colour combination of Mango Meloday and Basic Black.

This project uses the cut out from the words from the first card to create the ‘HAPPY’ outline for this one.

It just needed a curve cutting into it, again using the Home Together Dies. If I’d thought earlier, both curves could have been cut at the same time from one piece.

Once again, the sentiment is from the Well Said Stamp Set with shaping on the end using the Banners Pick a Punch.

I love it when things like this happen in crafting.

Two Cards For a Pair of Teenagers – Card 1

I mentioned previously that November is a busy month for Birthdays.

Here is the first of two cards for a pair of teenagers I have recently made. They were born within a few weeks of each other, so I normally create the same design for them.

When I had the idea for the project, I didn’t realise that it was going to form a second project too. A kind of 2-for-1.

I choose a Basic Black and Mango Melody monochrome colour scheme.

As the design is for a teenage boy, I chose to make it slightly abstract.

‘HAPPY’ is cut from the Playful Alphabets Dies, with the curved line from the Home Together Dies. These dies are in the Year End Closeout Sale that begins today. Make sure you take a look at all the discounted items.

The Basic Black curved piece is stuck on top of the Mango Melody layer.

Then, ‘HAPPY’ is carefully glued along the curve using wet glue.

Finally, a sentiment from the Well Said Stamp Set with ends shaped using the Banners Pick a Punch is added.

This Punch will not be available from 5th January, but will be back in May as it is carrying over to the 2021 Annual Catalogue. Check out all the items that will be taking a short break.
