Purple Posies

Today I’m sharing a Birthday Card I made for a class attendee.

As they are a fan of purple, I made this vase of purple posies.

It’s a monochrome project using Highland Heather and Whisper White.

A background using the Textured Essentials Stamp Set breaks up the white background.

The Basket of Blooms Stamp Set and the co-ordinating Small Bloom punch create the vase and flowers.

A length of the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding with a bow sit behind the vase.

Finally, as the recipient is a fan of glitter, Wink of Stella is used on the purple posies to add that obligatory sparkle!

As there is no sentiment, this is a great card for any occasion. You can change the colours or add a sentiment to as you require.

A Floral Thank You

I recently redesigned my Craft Room, and mentioned in passing during one of my online classes that I thought it needed some plants.

This floral thank you is for one of my class attendees who kindly provided me with two plants that are now sitting in my room.

The plants were an Anthurium and an Aloe Vera.

As the Anthurium has red flowers, this is why my colour combination is Poppy Parade and Pear Pizzazz, with a Terracotta Tile pot.

The corners are rounded using the Detailed Trio Punch, before adding the sentiment and stamped flowers.

‘a little note’ is from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and sits in the bottom corner.

Although the images from the Field of Flowers Stamp Set aren’t exactly like the Anthurium flowers, using the two colours allowed me to give a general impression of them.

The pot is from the Basket of Blooms Set stamped tone-on-tone and cut out by hand.

This then has a Linen Thread bow wrapped around it. Then, using Dimensionals, the pot is made to stand out from the flowers.

Finally, a touch of Wink of Stella was added to the flower heads for a touch of sparkle.

A Bright Flowering Frame

This bright flowering flame in Magenta Madness is today’s project.

I was flicking through the Annual Catalogue and stopped at Page 69. This is my version of the project on that page.

It’s no secret that I use the catalogues for my inspiration. I change the colours, change the stamp sets or change the design slightly.

My colour combination is Magenta Madness, Granny Apple Green and Whisper White. Magenta Madness is one of the five new In Colors for 2020 and this combination really zings.

For my version, I began by stamping the large rectangle image from the Swirly Frames Stamp Set in Whisper White ink.

Then, using Magenta Madness, I stamped flowers from the Blossoms in Bloom Stamp Set tone-on-tone onto a separate piece. I also added a few leaves to the background too. I used a Blender Pen to draw the colour onto the petals.

The larger flowers are cut using the Small Bloom Punch, with the smaller ones needing fussy cutting. For the leaves, the Sprig Punch gives us the two longer pieces, with the smaller leaves again stamped tone-on-tone, this time in Granny Apple Green.

Using Glue Dots for each item, I firstly built layers of leaves, adding the flowers on top.

‘For You’ comes from the Well Said Stamp Set and is added using Mini Dimensionals to raise it up off the background.

Finally, Epoxy Droplets make the centre of the large flowers, with Rhinestones for the rest of the sparkle.

Even though I’m not a lover of pink, this bright flowering frame design really pops and is a great project for any occasion. I now have an idea for another design!

All About the Blooms

This project is all about the blooms. It uses the Basket of Blooms Stamp Set and the co-ordinating Small Bloom Punch.

Recently, I shared this project with you. This is another version using the pot from the set, instead of the vase.

The colour combination is again Bumblebee, Terracotta Tile and Old Olive. Two of these are from the In Color collections.

In the stamp set, there are various flower and leaf stamps. This project uses one of the bloom images that co-ordinates with the Small Bloom Punch. Each bloom uses two images stuck together offset from each other.

Using a Blender Pen, I gently pulled the ink from the stamping to colour both the leaves and the flowers. A sentiment from the Well Said Stamp Set provides the sentiment, suitable for a number of occasions.

For a slightly different look, some lengths of ribbon from the Ornate Garden Combo Pack are stuck behind the white piece. The whole white piece is then attached with Dimensionals to raise it off the ribbons.

Finally, some tiny Gold Glitter Enamel Dots are added to the centre of each flower.

Basket of Blooms

I’ve been using my floral stamp sets, and this is a project using the Basket of Blooms Stamp Set.

This Stamp Set has flowers, recepticles for flowers (including a basket!), stems, and leaves. 14 stamps for just £16. Plus, some of the flowers co-ordinate with the Small Bloom Punch too.

For this project, I’ve used Bumblebee, Terracotta Tile and Old Olive, with Whisper White.

Stamping the small flower multiple times tone-on-tone creates a background. Strips of the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack in Old Olive and Terracotta Tile are then added. Basket of Blooms. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

One of the leaf images is stamped onto the Whisper White. It’s coloured with a Blender Pen and then cut out using the Tasteful Labels Dies.

The vase is stamped onto co-ordinating cardstock and cut out by hand, before being stuck onto the shape. A tiny flower is stamped onto Whisper White. It is again coloured with a Blender Pen and cut out by hand.

A sentiment from the Well Said Stamp Set is cut out by hand and placed across the vase.

Using Dimensionals, the shape is added to the card.

Finally, a small Gold Glitter Enamel Dot is added to the centre of the flower for a touch of sparkle.

Impossible Card in Magenta Madness

This Impossible Card is one of the projects from my recent Fancy Folds Class.

It gets the name from appearing impossible for the pop-up section to come out of the cut out shape. Even though a magician shouldn’t reveal their tricks, I think I may have to put a video together on how to create one.

Once you get the hang of them, they are relatively simple to make, it’s the decorating you can take the time over.

I chose to use Magenta Madness and Just Jade, two new In Colors, with Whisper White for my colour combination. This combination is certain to brighten up someone’s day.

The flowers and sentiments are from the Basket of Blooms Stamp Set and Many Mates Stamp Set. I then cut the flowers using the fabulous Small Bloom Punch and fussy cut the leaves. The images are coloured with a Blender Pen.

Each section has a Whisper White Cardstock layer with a 6×6 In Color DSP layer on top. A strip across the front adds an extra space for another flower.

The pop-up panel can be decorated with more height or width overhanging the edges. If you do this, make sure it can still fit in an envelope, or you’ll have to make one to match!

For a finishing touch, there’s a bow from the co-ordinating ribbon and some small Rhinestones too.

I think I may end up making a few more of these using different sizes and colour combinations.
