Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Hello Beautiful Stamp Set & Dies

For last week’s Card & Cuppa project I reached for the In Colors.

Once again, I have CASE’d myself by copying this previous project I haven’t made at class before.

The In Colors I have chosen are Tahitian Tide, Starry Sky and Parakeet Party. I think they create a fresh, bright and cheery look.

All of the stamping and die cutting is from the Hello Beautiful Stamp Set and the coordinating Beautiful Shapes Dies.

Each of the flower bodies are stamped across the project in Tahitian Tide, followed by Parakeet Party leaves.

Flower centres are then added using Starry Sky.

The sentiment is then stamped in Starry Sky and cut out, along with a Tahitian Tide hexagon.

Lengths of the In Color Baker’s Twine, also in Starry Sky wrap across the project with the sentiment pieces sitting above them on Dimensionals.

Finally, some In Color Matte Decorative Dots are coloured the same shade using a Starry Sky Stampin’ Blend and added to the project.

Hello Beautiful Thank You

This ‘thank you’ card uses the Hello Beautiful Stamp Set and the coordinating Beautiful Shapes Dies.

The colour combination is Parakeet Party, Pool Party and Night of Navy, along with Basic White. That’s quite a few parties!

Using the various images in the stamp set, I’ve built a floral cascade diagonally across the project.

Each of the flower centres is given a touch of Wink of Stella for some sparkle.

Three strands of Parakeet Party Baker’s Twine are then attached to the stamped piece.

Next, the sentiment, also from the stamp set is stamped. This, and the layer behind are cut out using the coordinating dies.

These sentiment pieces are then stuck together, before being added to the card using Dimensionals to raise them over the twine.

This design is really quick and simple to make, and is a great project if you need to make a card in a hurry.

It can easily be recreated in different colours and sentiments as needed.

Finishing Up Friday – For You in Balmy Blue

This week’s Finishing Up Friday uses a pre-embossed piece and some punched pieces I had in my crafting stash.

For this monochrome card I chose Balmy Blue alongside Basic White.

I cut the pre-embossed piece from the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder into three, and added some ink around the edges of each piece using a Blending Brush.

Then I used the Double-Stitched Ribbon in coordinating Balmy Blue and White and separated it. As the thin blue ribbon is stitched to the white ribbon with a clear thread, I carefully unpicked the stitching to create two ribbons.

The white part of the ribbon is then stuck across the project before adding the punched shapes. These are cut using Bough Punch.

Next, it was the turn of the thinner blue ribbon to create a ribbon swoosh. Head to this Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques video for a demonstration on how I create mine.

A sentiment from the Soft Seedlings Stamp Set is then cut out using the Beautiful Shapes Dies and layered onto a circle cut from the Stylish Layers Dies.

Finally, some Solid Faceted Gems, also in Balmy Blue are dotted across the project to maintain the monochrome look.

A Sweet Sorbet Special Day

Today’s project uses the In Color Sweet Sorbet to make this ‘It’s Your Special Day’ card.

Along with Sweet Sorbet, I chose Basic Black and Basic White for my colour combination.

The sentiment is from another ‘sweet’ product, the Sweet Songbirds Stamp Set. This is the first item to be added to the Basic White piece.

A strip of the Perfectly Penciled DSP then sits across the bottom of the project, with a thin strip of coordinating cardstock across the join.

On top of this is a length of In Color Metallic Woven Ribbon, also in Sweet Sorbet.

Another section of the DSP is cut out using the Beautiful Shapes Dies to provide the pretty flower.

This is then given a touch of colour using Stampin’ Blends and sits on a shape cut from the Stylish Layers Dies.

Finally, a touch of Wink of Stella is added to the flower to give an extra touch of sparkle.

Finishing Up Friday – Orange Flowers

This week’s Finishing Up Friday uses leftover pieces from this recent Card & (Your) Cuppa project.

To begin with, I shaped the edge of my cardstock pieces using the Very Best Trio Punch from the July-December Mini Catalogue.

Next, I stamped an image from the Flowers of Friendship Stamp Set and coloured the leaves with my Pear Pizzazz Ink Pad and a Blender Pen.

An additional large flower shape was cut out using the same Flowers & Leaves Punch. All of the flower shapes were then given some colour on the edges using a Mango Melody Ink Pad and Sponge Dauber.

The flower pieces were curled with a Paper Folder and layered together in pairs with a Glue Dot and stuck to each stem.

My sentiment is from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set stamped onto a shape from the Beautiful Shapes Dies.

This sits on a length of the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon coloured with a coordinating Stampin’ Blend.

Finally, some Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequins, also from the Mini Catalogue were added to the centre of each flower.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Dragonflies in Shades of Blue & Green

Last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project was this group of dragonflies in shades of blue and green.

When I was designing the project, I couldn’t decide whether to use blue or green for my dragonflies, so I chose a few shades of blue and green instead!

There’s Starry Sky, Orchid Oasis, Pool Party, Mint Macaron, Soft Succulent and Soft Sea Foam, along with Very Vanilla.

The Twigs & Sprigs Embossing Folder provides the background.

Each dragonfly is cut out using the Dragonflies Punch, with the larger one cut out twice in Soft Sea Foam.

My top dragonfly has a light coating of Wink of Stella and is layered onto the other one by just applying glue down the centre. This allows the wings on both shapes to be seen.

A length of coordinating Seam Binding from the July-December Mini Catalogue goes across the centre of the project.

The dragonflies sit on shapes cut from the Beautiful Shapes Dies and the All That Dies. They are then stuck to the project using Dimensionals.

Each of the small dragonflies glued down in colour order from green to blue.

The Lovely You Stamp Set provides the sentiment and is also attached using Dimensionals.

Finally, some Elegant Faceted Gems are placed across the project.

Anyone for a Tropical Hideaway?

A Tropical Hideaway Stamp that is!

I absolutely love a large stamp that I can use to quickly create a card.

For this project, I have chosen to stamp the image and then colour parts of it using Stampin’ Blends.

My colour combination is Parakeet Party, Garden Green and Soft Sea Foam, with Basic White. Garden Green provides the ink for the stamping, with the colouring in the other greens.

By only colouring a few of the leaves, it makes them stand out. The bright Parakeet Party leaves coordinate with the cardstock layer.

A few lengths of coordinating In Color Baker’s Twine wrap around the project.

Using the Go To Greetings Stamp Set, new in the Annual Catalogue, cut out with the Beautiful Shapes Dies, the small sentiment sits on top of the Baker’s Twine using Mini Dimensionals.

As the sentiment is small, it doesn’t detract from the main image.

A few of these in different colours with a range of sentiments would make a great gift.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – New Horizons DSP Triptych

It was three times the amount of fun at last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa Class with this triptych project.

It uses the New Horizons DSP, currently on the Last Chance Products list, so make sure you grab a pack while you can.

The piece of DSP is cut into three strips and stuck onto a piece of Basic White cardstock, leaving gaps to create the triptych.

Coordinating Evening Evergreen and Basic White are the colours for the base card and layer.

The banner section is cut using the Stylish Shapes Dies from the new Annual Catalogue. I love this set of dies and have been using them quite often.

In Color Ribbon sits behind the banner.

The sentiment is from the new Bottled Happiness Stamp Set and is on a circle cut using the Beautiful Shapes Dies.

Using Dimensionals, the sentiment is raised up above the banner.

This is a great design that can be replicated using any DSP, ribbon and sentiment.

Saying Hello – In Color 2022-2024: Orchid Oasis

Stampin’ Up! add five new ‘In Colors’ to their range each year that stay for two years.

This year, I’m introducing them in alphabetical order, so first up is Orchid Oasis.

As you know, I love monochrome projects, so I teamed the Orchid Oasis products with Basic White.

A piece of the In Color DSP Stack is cut on the diagonal, with the coordinating Metallic Woven Ribbon across the join.

One of the butterflies from the Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set is cut out using the Brilliant Wings Dies. It is then given a touch of sparkle with Wink of Stella.

The butterfly sits on a circle cut from the Beautiful Shapes Dies.

Finally, three different shades of the In color Matte Decorative Dots are added.

This is a great any occasion card as it can either be left as it is, or have a sentiment added at a later date.

It is also really quick and easy to make and you could create a batch really easily.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Hexagons Galore

Last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project consisted of hexagons galore, in a range of sizes and colours.

My starting point was the Abstract Beauty DSP and the Beautiful Shapes Dies from the Mini Catalogue.

As the DSP has several different colours, I chose to use a Thick Basic White basecard and a Basic Black layer. This gives an almost blank canvas for the different colours of the DSP to work with.

Each hexagon was arranged on the piece and any overhang cut away.

A swoosh of the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon then sits behind the sentiment from the Art Gallery Stamp Set. This is also cut out using the Beautiful Shapes Dies.

Finally, clusters of the coordinating Adhesive-Backed Hexagons are placed across the project.

This is a really quick and simple project and can easily be replicated. The longest part is cutting out the pieces and deciding which side of the DSP to use and where you want the shapes to go!
