Bloom Hybrid Embossing Folder Archives

For last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project, the Bloom Hybrid Embossing Folder came out to play.

This embossing folder is only available as part of a very clever Bundle.

What is clever about it is how you can emboss AND cut at the same time. It’s a great time saver.

My main cardstock colours are Old Olive, Soft Sea Foam, Calypso Coral and Basic White.

The back embossed piece is from the same Embossing Folder. Where the flowers cover, is where they are cut out from. You don’t have to cut them out if you don’t want to.

As I was using Calypso Coral for the small flowers, I decided that the centre of my larger flowers should be the same.

Using a Sponge Dauber, the colour was added. I then used So Saffron to add the outer colour. The colouring really makes them pop.

I then arranged the leaves, cut using the coordinating Bloom Dies, and stuck those down, before adding the large flowers with Dimensionals.

A sentiment from the coordinating Art in Bloom Stamp Set, inked using a Stampin’ Write Marker to select only a small section of the wording is then added.

Wink of Stella coats the smaller flowers. Adding these using Glue Dots is the finishing touch.

There are times when less is more, this card is definitely one of those times.

I had a completely different idea for this project, then changed my mind as I started making it. Please tell me I’m not the only one!

My colour combination is Balmy Blue and So Saffron, combined with Basic White.

Using the Bloom Hybrid Embossing Folder, with the Bloom Dies from the Bundle, I was able to both cut and emboss the flower shapes in one go. This Embossing Folder is amazing!

Then, using my Blending Brushes, I used So Saffron to add colour to the background and Balmy Blue to colour the flowers. As the flowers are embossed, it allows for some pretty colouring.

For my flowers, I had to use a Sponge Dauber for the centre, plus a touch of Wink of Stella for some sparkle.

As with this previous project, I also inked up part of a sentiment from the Art In Bloom Stamp Set, also in the Bundle. Again, I cut this with the Dies and cut off the excess.

Using a combination of Tear & Tape and Dimensionals, the flowers are attached.
