A Fond Farewell to Firm Favourites

As I don’t have a Card & Cuppa project to show you this week, I’m saying a fond farewell to firm favourites instead.

The current Annual Catalogue is only valid until 3rd June, so you only have until next Monday to order any items on the Retiring List (while stocks last).

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Anyone for ice cream?

Last week it was our final Card & Cuppa for Children session of the holidays and the theme was Summer.

Once again I decided that both the adult Card & Cuppa class and the children’s class should make the same project.

When I think of summer I think of sitting on a beach with an ice cream. That was my inspiration for the project.

The toppings from Coffee Cafe are stamped onto different colour card stock using Versamark. This allows an image to be different colours without needing to change ink pads.

Creating the waffle cones involved following a template to make three triangles and then cut them out.

These triangles are given the waffle look with Soft Suede ink and the grid pattern image from the Timeless Textures Stamp Set.

Another stamp from Timeless Textures creates the texture on the chocolate flake, cut out with the Classic Label Punch, minus the point.

Chocolate sprinkles from Picture Perfect Birthday and a 1/2″ cherry create some yummy ice creams.

A sea and sand background is made using a Sponge Brayer for the sea and a Sponge Dauber for the sand. It’s important not to cover the whole of the card with the sea. You’ll have green sand if you dauber over it!

Finally, a sun made from the ‘For You’ sentiment and ring from the Bubble Over Stamp Set finishes the project. These ice creams look good enough to eat.

All of the attendees had the choice of which combination of ice creams and toppings they made. What would you have chosen?

As it’s Bank Holiday next Monday, there is only one Card & Cuppa session running on the Thursday. Book your place by 18:00 the day before.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Bubble Over

For our second Card & Cuppa session of the year, I decided to design a card with a more masculine feel.

Stampin' Up! Bubble Over with HIPPOFROG Designs

This is the Bubble Over Stamp Set from the new Spring/Summer Catalogue.  It has matching dies too.

My inspiration for this project was from a bottle of beer my husband was drinking.  So, I stamped the smaller bottles in the background and the larger one separately which I then cut out.

Next I stamped the bubbles in the background.  The bubble stamp has a popped bubble on it but I decided not to ink that part of the stamp up each time as I wanted full bubbles.

The sentiment bottle label is great fun and I used the same colours for the stars, by stamping the star image first and then overstamping with the bottle label shape.

Strips of Baker’s Twine in Whisper White and Crushed Curry add an extra touch before attaching the bottle at the front.

One of the great things about Bubble Over is the co-ordinating FREE SAB DSP available during Sale-A-Bration.
