Cake Fancy Archives - HIPPOFROG Designs

At last week’s Card & Cuppa Class, we used images from the Cake Fancy Stamp Set to make this abstract-style design.

The colour combinations of Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade and Blueberry Bushel really make this project pop.

I enjoy using stamp sets in slightly different ways, and this design is great for all ages. Especially teens, or those who you find difficult to create for!

Each of the three separate images, the cake layer, candle and flower centre are stamped across the project at random.

Next, three strips of cardstock, one in each of the colours is stuck across the centre.

Then, the sentiment, also from the Cake Fancy Stamp Set is layered onto a punched circle shape. The Circle Punches are from the Online Exclusives range. This sentiment is raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, three Iridescent Pearls are coloured in each of the colours using Stampin’ Blends Combo Packs and added to the project.

At last week’s Card & Cuppa class I used the Cake Fancy Stamp Set from the Annual Catalogue.

I chose a colour combination of Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie and Melon Mambo, along with Very Vanilla.

First, the cake stand was stamped in Smoky Slate, leaving enough space for the sentiment at the bottom.

Next, the three layers of cake were stamped, leaving a space between each layer. The spaces were filled in with Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends to create the buttercream. Then, the frosting on the top was added in Pecan Pie.

Melon Mambo and a combination of first and second generation stamping gave the different shades for the flowers. These were then fussy cut before being given a light coating of Wink of Stella.

A length of the Gold Trim from the Online Exclusives Trim Combo Pack is adhered across the bottom.

The sentiment, one from the stamp set, is stamped on a separate piece and raised up over the ribbon using Dimensionals.

Glue Dots are then added to the back of the flowers and they are stuck to the top of the cake.

Finally, Iridescent Pearls are placed in the centre of each flower.

The images I used for this design are only a small number of the 25 available images and sentiments in the set. It is a really versatile Stamp Set and has lots of images that allow you to build various cakes, toppings and candles.
