Countdown to Christmas – Week 10

Week 10 of my Countdown to Christmas 2023 series is the Bonus project from my Christmas Card Club.

Those who signed up for all 5 months of Christmas Card Club in advance were given a bonus 6th project.

The bonus project just had to be a stripe project using the Gorgeous Joy of Christmas DSP.

First, a diagonal line was drawn to create the angle for the stripes.

Before adding the stripes, the sentiment was stamped. I have used the Christmas Classics Stamp Set with Shaded Spruce and Cherry Cobbler ink. This is definitely my favourite Stamp Set of the season.

Once the stripes are stuck down in their parquet pattern the excess is trimmed away. Then, a length of Iridescent Ribbon covers the bottom edge of the strips.

Finally, a flat bow is made and added.

The DSP, Stamp Set and Ribbon are all on the Last Chance Products list so may not be available when this post goes live. Make sure you grab any items from the list while you can.

If you are looking for a quick and easy card to make then this is a great project. It’s also a good scrap buster too for those pieces of DSP you may have lying around.

Here are all of my Christmas Card Club projects, do you have a favourite?

Countdown to Christmas – Week 9

For week 9 of my Countdown to Christmas 2023 series, I’m sharing November’s Christmas Card Club project.

For November’s project, I chose to make this present card using traditional colours of Real Red and Very Vanilla, with Shaded Spruce stamping.

The background is embossed using the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder.

Next, the parcel is made by adding two lengths of Gold & Vanilla Satin Edged Ribbon.

Sentiment layers are created using the Deckled Circles Dies and the Christmas Classics Stamp Set.

Loose Holly Gems & Sequins are then added to the sentiment. These were on the Last Chance Products list but have sold out and are now no longer available.

Finally, the sentiment layer was added to the parcel.

Christmas Card Club is where those who have signed up make 2 of a pre-designed card using the class kit and instruction from a YouTube video tutorial. The projects are made in their own time with a new video released on the 25th of each month (July-November).

Countdown to Christmas 2023 – Week 5

Today I’m sharing October’s Christmas Card Club project. This card is the project for Week 5 of my Countdown to Christmas 2023 series.

For October’s project, I made this card, inspired by Page 21 of the September-December Mini Catalogue.

With the colour combination of Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Real Red and Very Vanilla, it has a rustic feel.

The background is made from shapes cut from the Modern Oval Punch from the Mini Catalogue. These are then given some texture by embossing with the Online Exclusives Basics 3D Embossing Folders.

Once these are stuck to the layer, any excess overhang is cut away.

A strip of Mossy Meadow cardstock is then attached, with a length of the Real Red & Garden Green Ribbon Combo Pack on top of that.

Using the Christmas Classics Stamp Set, a new favourite of mine from the Mini Catalogue, the sentiment is created. This is cut out using the Nested Essentials Dies.

Two sets of leaves cut using the Bough Punch are then stuck to the back of the sentiment.

This is then attached to the project using Dimensionals.

Finally, some Iridescent Pearls are added for a touch of bling.

If you want to join us and make a future Christmas Card Club project, make sure you have booked your place by the 9th of each month.

Countdown to Christmas 2023 – Week 1

How is it already time to start my annual Countdown to Christmas series?

For 12 weeks, from today until Christmas, I’ll be sharing a festive project with you every Saturday. Feel free to use these projects to help with your Christmas crafting.

Today I’m sharing September’s Christmas Card Club project for 2023.

For September’s card, the third Christmas Card Club project of the year, I taken inspiration from the new September-December Mini Catalogue.

It uses the new Handcrafted Elements Dies and Christmas Classics Stamp Set, along with an old favourite, the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set.

The colours are Orchid Oasis and Balmy Blue, with Basic White.

A background of ‘splats’ from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set is created.

Next, the ornament is cut in two to allow the sentiment to sit in the middle.

Lengths of coordinating In Color Baker’s Twine then go across the centre with the bauble sitting on top using Dimensionals.

A bow sits to the side of the bauble, made with the remaining length of twine from the kit.

Finally, some blue Adhesive-Backed Glitter Sequins, also new in the Mini Catalogue, add some festive bling.

If you want to join us and make a future Christmas Card Club project, make sure you have booked your place by the 9th of each month.

Christmas Card Club – August 2023

Today I’m sharing August’s Christmas Card Club project.

Christmas Card Club is where those who sign up make 2 of a pre-designed card using the class kit and instruction from a YouTube video tutorial. The projects are made in their own time with a new video released on the 25th of each month (July-November).  See July’s project here.

For August’s project, I chose to make this fun Christmas tree. It’s inspired by a project in the new Mini Catalogue.

I chose Parakeet Party, Granny Apple Green and Old Olive for my tree, with Pecan Pie for the trunk. These are all paired with Basic White to allow the bright greens to stand out.

Each strip of card is embossed using the Basics 3D Embossing Folders from the Online Exclusives range.

The strips are cut to different lengths and arranged to create the tree shape, with the trunk at the bottom.

Finally, a Glossy Dot in Daffodil Delight is added to the top of the tree, with Iridescent Rhinestones as baubles on the end of some of the branches.

This is a very quick and easy sentiment free project and great for using your scraps of Cardstock and DSP.

If you want to join us and make a future Christmas Card Club project, make sure you have booked your place by the 9th of each month.

Christmas Card Club – July 2023

Today I’m sharing my first Christmas Card Club project of 2023.

Christmas Card Club is where those who have signed up make 2 of a pre-designed card using the class kit and instruction from a YouTube video tutorial. The projects are made in their own time with a new video released on the 25th of each month (July-November).

For July’s project, I chose to make some Christmas baubles.

Using the Bright & Beautiful 6×6 DSP for the baubles meant that I had many colours to choose from. As I wanted a green shade, I chose Pretty Peacock for my basecard and stamping layer.

First a splat design from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set was stamped tone-on-tone on the background piece.

Next the lengths of Parakeet Party Metallic Woven Ribbon were added.

Then, punched circle shapes were covered with strips of the Bright & Beautiful 6×6 DSP, with the overhang carefully trimmed away. This leaves lots of scrap pieces to make some more baubles.

These were then stuck over the lengths of ribbon, with the central bauble raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, a bunny ears bow was added to the top of the central bauble.

The process is then repeated for the second card.

If you want to join us and make a future Christmas Card Club project, make sure you have booked your place by the 9th of each month.

Christmas Card Club – September

September’s Christmas Card Club project was this festive wreath.

Although I chose to create a more traditional project, the die-cut for the wreath isn’t from a traditional Christmas set!

Using various greens, Mossy Meadow, Garden Green and Old Olive, these were combined with Real Red, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.

The background is given some texture using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.

This then has a length of Old Olive Twill Ribbon from the Twill Ribbon Combo Pack added to make a wreath hanging point.

For the wreath, the Natural Prints Dies provide the die-cut shape. Cut out three times in each of the greens before being layered.

These dies are from the Sun Prints Suite Collection from the Annual Catalogue.

More layering with the sentiment, also cut from the Natural Prints Dies, with the Very Vanilla piece trimmed to sit on top of an identical shape to provide a Crumb Cake border.

My sentiment is from the Leaves of Holly Stamp Set, the only item from the July-December Mini Catalogue used on this project.

A bunny ears bow using the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack is added for a more rustic feel.

Finally, Red Rhinestones are added to create sparkling berries.

If you want to join us for October’s Christmas Card Club, then make sure you have booked your place by 9th October.

Christmas Card Club 2022 – August

Due to the Bank Holiday, there wasn’t a Card & (Your) Cuppa session last week.

So, I’m sharing the third project from this year’s Christmas Card Club instead.

This project uses a returning item from last year, the Wonderful Snowflakes in the July-December Mini Catalogue.

The colour combination for this month’s project is Tahitian Tide and Orchid Oasis – two new In Colors, plus Basic White.

To create texture for the background, a length of the Metallic Mesh Ribbon is stuck down the centre.

A tag and the hole reinforcer from the Tailor Made Tag Dies are assembled and a piece of coordinating Metallic Woven Ribbon is looped through the hole.

Next, the Snowflake is stuck to the tag, along with a circle shape cut using the Stylish shapes Dies stuck on top.

Sentiment pieces from the Spruced Up Stamp Set are stamped and cut before being stuck across the circle.

The tag is then stuck to the project using Dimensionals.

Finally, some Iridescent Rhinestones are dotted across the project to add some extra Christmas sparkle.

If you like this project for August, and the previous projects from June and July, why not join me for Christmas Card Club in September. Booking closes on 9th August.

There are only three more Christmas Card Club projects left.

Christmas Card Club 2022 – July

This is the second project from this year’s Christmas Card Club.

Inspiration for this project is taken from page 13 of the July-December Mini Catalogue.

July’s project uses the FREE SAB Gold & Silver 6×6 DSP, plus some of the new In Colors for 2022-2024. Additional colours are Garden Green, Daffodil Delight and Basic White.

Don’t forget that SAB runs until the end of August and items are only available while stocks last.

For this card, all of the die-cut shapes are from the Spruced Up Outlines Dies. The sentiment is from the coordinating Spruced Up Stamp Set. These are available as a Bundle with a discount, so be sure to take advantage of the offer.

Using the piece of SAB DSP, this creates a look of wallpaper. A length of In Color Metallic Ribbon hides the join.

Each outline shape has matching inner pieces. To give the look of wrapping paper, each present has an inner cut from In Color 6×6 DSP.

The tree and presents are then arranged, with the front most one on Dimensionals.

A length of In Color Baker’s Twine creates a ‘bunny ears’ bow off to the side. Check out this video for more details on how to tie this bow.

Finally, a star, with Wink of Stella coating tops the tree, with others across the project.

If you like this project for July, and the previous project from June, why not join me for Christmas Card Club in August. Booking closes on 9th August.

Christmas Card Club 2022 – June

My first Christmas Card Club project for 2022 went live on 25th June and this is the card.

Each month, between June and November, I am designing a Christmas Card.

Every person who signs up for that month receives all the cardstock, envelopes and embellishments to make 2 of the design.

They are then given a link to a video that demonstrates how to create the projects at home in their own time.

I had made the robins ages ago when I got my hands on the new Songbird Builder Punch from the Annual Catalogue. These are Soft Suede, Poppy Parade and Daffodil Delight, with eyes drawn with a Stampin’ Write Marker.

However, I was having trouble deciding on a background for them. Then, the July-December Mini Catalogue provided the perfect solution with the fabulous Aspen Trees Dies.

A Crumb Cake basecard and embossed cut out, with a Very Vanilla piece between gives the robins somewhere to perch.

Finally, some Champagne Rhinestones are dotted around to look like stars on a late winter afternoon.

Why not join me for one, or all of the remaining months. Bookings close on the 9th of each month.

Head to my Class Timetable for full details of all of my classes.
