September 2026 Card Making Class – Project 4

The final project from my recent monthly Card Making Class is this fun Birthday Card.

With the theme of the class being Mostly Men, the cards had a more masculine feel to them. However, I think this one is more of a neutral card that anyone would be happy to receive.

You may recognise this design as a regular one from my classes. There is no point in reinventing the wheel. Just switch things up using different images, colours etc.

My colour combination for this project is the In Colors of Hydrangea Hue and Secret Sea, with Basic White.

It used the new Round About Messages Stamp Set and some new Ribbon too. Both are from the new September-December Catalogue.

Living in Milton Keynes, the name of this new Stamp Set caught my eye, and it just had to fall into my basket!

To begin, a piece of cardstock is used to mask the top section while an image is stamped multiple times underneath.

The large sentiment is stamped in the top corner.

A length of the new White Textured Ribbon is coloured using a Stampin’ Blend to match the rest of the project and sits across the masking line.

Using Secret Sea, the cake and surrounding words are stamped and that and a layer are cut out using Circle Punches.

The cake is coloured using Watercolor Pencils.

Finally, the sentiment is stuck to the project using Dimensionals.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – All the Circles

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project was this multiple circle design.

It was also the project for my Card & Cuppa for Children Class, my final session of the summer.

The colours used are Highland Heather, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade and Azure Afternoon, with Secret Sea and Basic White.

First I made a stencil using the Stylish Shapes Dies and a wide strip of Basic White Cardstock. These are the three smallest circle dies in the set.

A Blending Brush was then used to create each circle in every colour, 15 in total. Some overlapped others and some were off the edge of the page.

Staying with the circle theme, two circles were cut out using the Circle Punches, with a sentiment from the Exciting Times Stamp Set added.

These circles were layered together and raised up over the colourful background using Dimensionals.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa for Children – More Gears & Textures

Last week’s Card & Cuppa for Children project was this colourful Birthday Card.

You may notice it is similar to this project the adults made at their Card & Cuppa class earlier in the week.

This is deliberate!

I like to design a project to work across both classes, sometimes making small changes to each one.

This version has swapped the coloured Baker’s Twine for strips of card. There is also no colour flare and the design is portrait instead of landscape. Everything else stays the same.

Once again, the background is stamped using the Gears & Textures Stamp Set.

Then, the three strips of colour are added across the project.

Next, the circle is stamped and cut out, along with a layer using Circle Punches.

This sits over the top of the strips on Dimensionals.

Finally, as for the adult’s class, some Moody Palette Glossy Dots are added.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Gears & Textures

For last week’s Card & Cuppa project I designed an abstract card.

At last week’s Card & Cuppa for Children class, one of the young attendees said they liked rainbows, so I decided to create a very colourful project.

You will notice that this project is the design for my adult session, not the one I run for children. Pop back later in the week for that one!

This card uses 6 colours, plus Basic White. Four colours for the background, Lemon Lime Twist, Balmy Blue, Calypso Coral and Highland Heather. Then we have Lemon Lolly and Basic Gray for the sentiment.

All of the stamping, apart from ‘Happy Birthday to you’ are from the Gears & Textures Stamp Set.

Each of the images are stamped onto the background in four colours before a slight flare of colour is added using Lemon Lolly and a Blending Brush.

Next, the round image is stamped and cut out, along with a layer using the Circle Punches. The sentiment from the Exciting Times Stamp Set is then added.

Picking three of the colours, strands of Baker’s Twines from the Essentials Pack are then coloured using Stamping Blends.

These are stuck across the centre of the project.

The layered sentiment sits over the top using Dimensionals.

Finally, three coordinating gems from the Moody Palette Glossy Dots are added.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Words & Wishes Stamp Set

At last week’s Card & Cuppa class, we used the Words & Wishes Stamp Set to create this fun Birthday Card.

As I wanted this card to be something to send to anyone, I chose a colour scheme to reflect this.

My colour combination is Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock and Secret Sea, with Daffodil Delight and Basic White.

First, the words from the Stamp Set are stamped across the background in Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock.

Next, two circles are punched using the Circle Punches. The cake is then stamped in Secret Sea. Candles are stamped onto a separate piece in Daffodil Delight.
