Birthday Card with Gorgeously Made Stamp Set

There wasn’t a Card & Cuppa class last week due to my annual break, so I’m sharing this Birthday Card I made for a friend.

My friend likes Crumb Cake and also purple, so I of course chose Crumb Cake, along with Moody Mauve. These were combined with Very Vanilla.

The Gorgeously Made Stamp Set provided the images. I then used a Blending Brush and Crumb Cake ink to add a more vintage look around the edges.

A length of coordinating In Color Textured Ribbon in Moody Mauve and Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine from the Essentials Pack sit across the centre.

Happy Birthday is from the Circle Sayings Stamp Set and this is punched out and layered. Both circles are cut using the Circle Punches from the Online Exclusives.

As my friend also loves sparkle, I added some Wink of Stella to the berry parts of each stem. I’m not sure that you can see it properly in the pictures.

Finally, some extra bling was added using some Iridescent Pearls.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Petal Park in Pinks

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project was also the project I used for the Card & Cuppa for Children session too.

The pink colours were Melon Mambo, Berry Burst and Bubble Bath, with Granny Apple Green.

For the background piece, it is stamped tone on tone using the Petal Park Stamp Set. It is then cut into strips to create a trump l’oeil effect.

At the children’s session, they cut their piece into 3 using the Paper Trimmer. I gave the adults the choice of cutting theirs into more strips and having 5 as the background.

All of the flowers and leaves are stamped in Berry Burst and Granny Apple Green. They are then punched out using the coordinating Petal Park Builder Punch. The outline images are given a touch of colour using a Blender Pen and Wink of Stella centres.

Using what I refer to as a ‘helper piece’ – I chose an oval cut using the Double Oval Punch, each of the flowers are then stuck to this piece. The leaves are then stuck behind. This ‘helper piece’ allows the flowers and leaves to work as one. You can also use a scrap of cardstock for this.

A sentiment, from the Circle Sayings Stamp Set is stamped and added to the project. The bunch of flowers is then stuck on top of the sentiment.

Finally, some Iridescent Rhinestones add some extra sparkle.

The design of this project is one that can easily be recreated using different colours and stamp sets for a variety of occasions.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa for Children – More Little Monkeys

Yesterday I shared last week’s Card & Cuppa project made using the Little Monkey Bundle.

While I was making that project, I also made a similar project for my Card & Cuppa for Children classes using the same bundle.

Lots of leaves from the Little Monkey Stamp Set, stamped in Shaded Spruce and then coloured using Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen created the fun background.

Next, the monkeys were stamped in Early Espresso onto Pecan Pie cardstock. There were also monkey faces in Crumb Cake and bananas stamped onto Daffodil Delight.

All of these pieces were cut out using the Little Monkey Builder Punch.

Each monkey then had their face and a banana attached.

A sentiment from the Circle Sayings Stamp Set was stamped and then cut out using the 2″ Circle Punch – an Online Exclusive Item.

All of the pieces were then stuck to the project using Dimensionals.

I love how cute this project has turned out. Perfect for any little monkeys in your life!

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Little Monkey Bundle

For last week’s Card & Cuppa project it was time to use the Little Monkey Bundle.

This is a new discounted Stamp Set & Punch Bundle from the Annual Catalogue.

Everything is stamped onto Basic White cardstock and coloured using Stampin’ Blends.

The background leaves and sentiment are in Shaded Spruce, with the monkeys and bananas stamped in Early Espresso.

Each monkey is coloured using the Light Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blend as a first layer, followed by Dark and Light Pecan Pie Blends for the body to give some shading. Pretty Pink in both Dark and Light adds the colour to the face and ears.

The bananas are coloued using Daffodil Delight.

Once these were coloured, they were cut out using the Little Monkey Builder Punch.

For the colouring of the leaves, a combination of different Stampin’ Blends are used, Old Olive, Parakeet Party, Granny Apple Green and Lemon Lime Twist. Plus of course the Color Lifter came in handy too for those oops moments!

The sentiment is from the Circle Sayings Stamp Set and cut out using the 2″ Circle Punch from the Online Exclusives.

To finish, all of the pieces were attached using Dimensionals to create the fun scene.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Circle Sayings Bundle

At this time of year, I normally design a Card & Cuppa project inspired by Wimbledon. This year is no exception and also timely as the Championships start today.

It uses the Circle Sayings Stamp Set and Punch Bundle, a new Bundle in the Annual Catalogue.

My Wimbledon colour combination is Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape, Daffodil Delight and Basic White, plus Smoky Slate for some stamping.

To begin with, an image is randomly stamped across the bottom of the project to create a background.

This is then covered with strips of cardstock in my chosen colours.

A circular outside sentiment from the set is stamped, with the iced cake then stamped in the centre in Smoky Slate. It is cut out using the Circle Punch from the Bundle. I like to think that the circle shape represents a tennis ball.

Staying with my colour scheme, the cake is coloured using both Assortment 1 and 2 of the Watercolor Pencils. Colouring lines were blended away using a Blender Pen.

‘Happy Birthday’ is stamped on a piece of Daffodil Delight and stuck to the back of the cake piece.

This is then stuck to the project using Dimensionals.
