Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Nature’s Prints Coordination

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project was this any occasion card. It used items that coordinate with the Nature’s Prints Stamp Set.

A colour combination of Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla gave the project a pastel feel.

The background was made using the Fern 3D Embossing Folder. This was then given some extra tone-on-tone definition using a Small Blending Brush and a Petal Pink Stampin’ Pad.

Next, the various images and the sentiment were stamped and cut out using the coordinating Natural Prints Dies.

Then, a ribbon swoosh using the new Calypso Coral Braided Linen Trim from the September-December Mini Catalogue was added.

The cut out shapes were then layered with the sentiment raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, some Iridescent Pearls were added to the flatter sections of the embossed piece.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Timeless Arrangements Bundle

For last week’s Card & Cuppa project, I used another new Bundle from the Annual Catalogue.

This is the Timeless Arrangements Bundle, consisting of a Stamp Set and coordinating Dies.

I chose Moody Mauve, one of the new In Colors and Fresh Freesia, along with Very Vanilla as my colour combination. I’d been asked for a purple project, so this fit the brief.

Firstly, the background images from the Timeless Arrangements Stamp Set were stamped in the colours.

Next, a length of the coordinating In Color Textured Ribbon was added.

Then, the various flower and leaf sections were cut out using the Timeless Arrangements Dies. The sentiment was stamped and cut out too.

All of the different pieces were then layered behind the sentiment to create a pretty arrangement.

What is great about these die cut shapes is that they are on long pieces and cut out as one, so they were easy to assemble behind the sentiment.

Finally some Iridescent Pearls are added for a touch of sparkle and bling.

There are so many different ways to use this Timeless Arrangements Bundle, I’m looking forward to using it some more.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Cheerful Daisies Bundle

At last week’s Card & Cuppa project it was the turn of a new Bundle, along with a new colour too.

Items from the new Cheerful Daisies Bundle (Stamp Set and Dies) and Pecan Pie combined to create this pretty monochrome Birthday card. These are new products from the Annual Catalogue.

This project is a version of one of my most popular lockdown projects. So I have CASE-d myself with a monochrome twist.

If you’re not sure what CASE-ing is, then check out my video here that gives a quick overview.

Using one of the three Basics Embossing Folders from the Online Exclusives range, a background was created. It was given a vintage look with a Blending Brush and was then offset against the Pecan Pie layer.

Various images from the Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set were stamped and shapes were cut out using the coordinating Cheerful Daisies Dies.

The daisy sitting under the sentiment is again given a hint of colour using a Blending Brush.

A swoosh of ribbon from the Trim Combo Pack is then added. This is another Online Exclusive product and the other ribbon in the pack we used on the last Card & Cuppa project. It sits under the sentiment and coordinates really well with the warmth of Pecan Pie.

Finally, some Brass Butterflies are dotted across the project.

This project would look fabulous in other monochrome variations.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Two-Tone Flora Bundle

Last week’s Card & Cuppa design used another new Bundle from the January-April Mini Catalogue.

The Two Tone Flora Bundle is a Stamp Set and Dies Bundle with lots of different coordinating elements.

Once again, I saw a project in the catalogue that I just had to CASE.

For the background, I use the large die and a piece of thick cardstock to create a stencil.

Soft Sea Foam and a Small Blending Brush then allowed the pattern to be transferred.

The flowers are stamped in Pale Papaya and Pumpkin Pie, with some Wink of Stella added to the centres. Leaves are in Soft Succulent.

Using the dies, the flowers and leaves are cut out.

A sentiment from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set is stamped in Evening Evergreen for a darker shade.

All of the pieces are then layered together using a mix of glue and Dimensionals.

Some Blue Pastel Pearls are then coloured using a Stampin’ Blend in Soft Succulent, to coordinate with the rest of the project, before being added as a finishing touch.

Art Gallery and Subtles for a Birthday

This Birthday card, inspired by the Annual Catalogue, is a great project to use the fabulous Art Gallery Stamp Set and matching Dies.

If you missed the Bundle in last year’s Mini Catalogue, make sure you check out the fabulous March promotion. Not only has it returned for the promotion, it is also available at a discounted price.

My project is inspired by Page 13 of the Annual Catalogue and I chose to use the Subtles colour family. Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz and Balmy Blue, along with Very Vanilla.

The background is from the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and I have added a touch of coulour using a Blending Brush.

Each floral image and leaves have been stamped twice and cut out using the Floral Gallery Dies.

These pieces have then been cut down further to allow for the layering.

Once again, the Stamp Set and Dies from the Bundle create the layered sentiment.

This sits on Dimensionals, with a bow made from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack just next to it.

Finally, coordinating Artistry Blooms sequins complete the card.

Anything is Possible With Hand-Penned Petals

This project is all about the Hand-Penned Petals products.

These new products in the Annual Catalogue are simply stunning.

My colour combination of Daffodil Delight, Misty Moonlight and Basic White, with Black stamping is taken from the Hand-Penned DSP.

I’ve also recreated the image from the DSP using the Hand-Penned Petals Bundle (Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set and Penned Flowers Dies).

Normally, I would stamp these images in Basic Gray, but as the DSP has Black outlines, I’ve mirrored that too.

For my infill stamping, I’ve used 3rd Generation stamping to tone the colours down. If you’re not sure what generations stamping is, check out my recent Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques video.

Using Wink of Stella, the flowers are given some subtle shimmer.

The background is just one piece of DSP, cut and then reversed to show the other pink side. This side helps to make the stamped image stand out.

A length of Crinkled Seam Binding runs across the project, with the sentiment added just slightly overhanging the edge.

My main flower is attached with Dimensionals to raise it off the card.

Finally, some small Rhinestones are dotted around for a little bit of extra sparkle.

Less Is More With Art In Bloom Bundle

There are times when less is more, this card is definitely one of those times.

I had a completely different idea for this project, then changed my mind as I started making it. Please tell me I’m not the only one!

My colour combination is Balmy Blue and So Saffron, combined with Basic White.

Using the Bloom Hybrid Embossing Folder, with the Bloom Dies from the Bundle, I was able to both cut and emboss the flower shapes in one go. This Embossing Folder is amazing!

Keep an eye out for a future Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques Video for a hands-on demonstration.

Then, using my Blending Brushes, I used So Saffron to add colour to the background and Balmy Blue to colour the flowers. As the flowers are embossed, it allows for some pretty colouring.

For my flowers, I had to use a Sponge Dauber for the centre, plus a touch of Wink of Stella for some sparkle.

As with this previous project, I also inked up part of a sentiment from the Art In Bloom Stamp Set, also in the Bundle. Again, I cut this with the Dies and cut off the excess.

Using a combination of Tear & Tape and Dimensionals, the flowers are attached.

Finally, some Opal Rounds add some extra sparkle.

Quite Curvy Bundle Birthday Card in Bermuda Bay

This pretty monochrome Bermuda Bay Birthday card uses the early release Quite Curvy Bundle from the new January-June Mini Catalogue.

It also uses a new item that will be available in the upcoming SAB too. The fabulous Oh So Ombre 6×6 DSP Pack is an item you’ll be able to earn for FREE during January and February 2021.

The wavy line is cut using the Curvy Dies. This piece is then stuck to the DSP.

A sentiment follows the curve, with a few leaves stamped in the corner.

The corners are given a round shape with the Detailed Trio Punch to match the curvy details.

Leaves are then cut from the dies using the different parts of the DSP to create varying shades of Bermuda Bay.

These stuck behind a Whisper White flower cut using the Small Bloom Punch.

Finally, Metallic Pearls coloured with a Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blend are added to the project.

Make sure you keep an eye out for when the Mini Catalogue goes live on 5th January.

Pantone Painted Poppies

Earlier this month, Pantone announced their Colour of the Year for 2021. There are two for 2021 – Ultimate Gray and Illuminating.

Today I’m sharing a project in the Stampin’ Up! equivalent colours of Basic Gray and Daffodil Delight.

Here’s my SU version of Pantone Painted Poppies…

Using the Painted Poppies Stamp Set and co-ordinating Painted Labels Dies, this is a great any occasion project.

The background uses first and second generation stamping in Basic Gray, with Daffodil Delight highlights added using a Sponge Dauber,

Both the flowers and leaves are stamped in Basic Gray onto the Basic Gray and Daffodil Delight Cardstock. These are then cut out with the dies.

The centre of each flower is given a touch of sparkle with some Wink of Stella.

These are then arranged on top of the background using Dimensionals.

I love how these colours work so well together. The brightness of the yellow seems to lighten the grey, whereas the grey appears to knock back the brightness of the yellow.

I have a feeling these colours might be making more appearances here in 2021!
