It’s Your Time to Shine

This very pink project is for a friend who is a big fan of the colour.

They have had some good things happen to them recently, so I wanted to send them a positive card.

It uses the new In Color of Polished Pink, with Basic White.

I’ve based my project on the picture on Page 152 of the Annual Catalogue.

The background is a piece of the Expressions in Ink DSP. A cut out from the Picture This Dies provides the layer above.

Daisies from the Daisy Lane Stamp Set are stamped and then cut out using the Medium Daisy Punch.

These have some Wink of Stella put in the centres and are layered together, then placed over the cut outs.

Edges of the sentiment are shaped using the Banners Pick a Punch before it is attached using Mini Dimensionals.

Finally, a few In Color Jewels are dotted around the project for a finishing touch.

Beauty and Daisies

These pretty monochrome daisies sit on a fabulous background of DSP.

The background DSP is stamped with the Beauty of Friendship and Daisy Lane Stamp Sets in Misty Moonlight. Don’t be afraid to stamp onto your DSP, it creates some great effects.

Various generations of stamping have been used for the smaller ‘splat’ type images at the top. Check out this week’s YouTube Video on what generational stamping is all about.

Using the Medium Daisy Punch, the daisies are cut out and layered after stamping. They are then lightly coated with Wink of Stella for some subtle sparkle.

For the sentiment, I used the Beauty of Friendship Stamp Set and the coordinating Beautiful Trees Dies for the shape.

A length of coordinating Baker’s Twine from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack is finished with a bow.

Finally, some Metallic Pearls are dotted around to pick out the silver in the Baker’s Twine.

Daisy Lane, Crumb Cake & Watercolor Pencils

I’m sharing another floral project with you today made with Daisy Lane, Crumb Cake and Watercolor Pencils

This project is again inspired by the Annual Catalogue. If you head to page 13, you’ll see a similar project.

I chose to use Daisy Lane as my Stamp Set, with Rich Razzleberry as my main colour. I have stamped tone-on-tone on the Crumb Cake and then coloured using Watercolor Pencils. A Blender Pen over the colouring then helps to blend them together.

Even though the base card is Very Vanilla, I have stamped the sentiment from Lovely You onto a strip of Rich Razzleberry with a Whisper White Inkpad.

Using the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, one end of the sentiment is shaped. The Stamp Set and Punch are available as a discounted Bundle.

This stamped and punched sentiment is then stuck over a bow from Linen Thread.

Finally, a few Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins in co-ordinating Rich Razzleberry, in different sizes, add a touch of sparkle. As they already have adhesive attached, they are easy to adhere.

Daisy Lane Easel Card

I’m sharing another card from my recent Fancy Folds class. This is an easel card.

An easel card is one that folds up like an easel when it is open.

For my card, I chose Just Jade and Rococo Rose, two In Colors. I also used the Daisy Lane Stamp Set.

After scoring and folding my base card, I added an addtional panel to the front section. When you are attaching a front piece, make sure you only glue onto the bottom fold. If you don’t, the easel mechanism won’t work and you’ll just have a regular card!

With the stem stamped, I stamped and punched the large daisy for this flower. I also stamped and punched two smaller daisies to use later on. For all of the daisies, I used a Blender Pen to pull the colour and some Wink of Stella in the centres.

A sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set shaped using a brand new punch. Head to page 65 of the new Mini Catalogue to see this fabulous Banners Pick A Punch.

When decorating an easel card, adding some sort of stopper for the front section is advisable. This is where I used the smaller daisies, sitting on a length of co-ordinating Just Jade Ribbon.

A Bunch of Bright Daisies

It’s great when I’m asked to create special cards. Especially when the recipient is a regular class attendee.

This was a particularly interesting request as I was asked for THREE cards for a special Birthday for the same person!

I know that the lucky lady loves yellows, oranges and bright colours, so I immediately headed for the brights collection. Along with the Daisy Lane Stamp Set and co-ordinating Medium Daisy and Daisy Punches, this bunch of bright daisies came together. I’m so pleased this stamp set has carried over to the new Annual Catalogue.

This is an A5 card, so it was lovely to be able to use lots of daisies. I used the Detailed Trio Punch to round the corners, just to soften the edges.

After cutting and arranging strips in Granny Apple Green for the stems, the daisies were added using Dimensionals. As this project was being hand delivered, I used a few layers to add extra depth.

Wink of Stella in the centre of the daisies and Pearls coloured with Stampin’ Blends add the finishing touches. I also made a matching envelope using Designer Series Paper, but didn’t take a picture of that!

Pink and Sparkly Daisies

It’s that time of year when my friend who likes all things pink and sparkly celebrates her Birthday. This year, I made her some pink and sparkly daisies.

It’s no coincidence that the design is very much like this project I shared the other day. In fact, I made the cards at the same time.

I know I keep saying it, but there really is no need to keep trying to think up new design ideas every single time. If you find a design you like, create it again. By using a different stamp set or colours, it can change the whole look and feel of a design. It also saves you lots of time and effort, leaving you time to create even more projects.

I’ve used Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzazz as the main colours, with Smoky Slate for the sentiment. The Stamp Set is Daisy Lane, with the bundled Medium Daisy Punch, along with the Daisy Punch for the larger flowers.

Tone-on-tone stamping has created the daisy background, with the corners rounded by the Detailed Trio Punch. A layered focal daisy in Melon Mambo is stamped onto Whisper White. I used Wink of Stella, instead of a Blender Pen to pull the colour along the petals. This also added some sparkle at the same time. Even though you can’t see it in the pictures, there was quite a lot of sparkle on the project!

The Painted Poppies Stamp Set and Painted Labels Dies create the leaves. Itty Bitty Birthdays is the final Stamp Set I’ve used for the sentiment, with the Timeless Label Punch.

To complement the pink and sparkly daisies, I added a few rhinestones as a finishing touch.

BYO Stamps – Remembering to Smile

Today I am sharing a project from my first BYO Stamps Class.

This class went ahead in a slightly different way to how I’d imagined. Running the class online with everyone in their slippers is certainly going to make it memorable.

BYO Stamps Classes are for those who have stamps, but aren’t sure of what to do with them. The attendees then recreate each of the designs they are shown using the stamps they have.

This ‘smile’ project is all about the sentiment being the star, with three shapes around the edge.

This project is relevant to me today too as I was supposed to be flying out to Cyrpus for a week of relaxation. Instead I am safe at home, playing my part in social distancing. Although it’s sad not to be heading on holiday, I know that I can return there, hopefully next year. So, I’m making sure that I’m remembering to smile.

The fabulous Daisy Lane Stamp Set and Punch Bundle provided the sentiment and shapes for this project. A combination of Pool Party and Night of Navy mixed with Whisper White make this a pretty project.

Blender Pens are used to pull the colour around the petals, with a touch of Wink of Stella in the centre.

‘Smile’ is on a 2″ Circle Punch with a 2 1/4″ Circle Punch layer. Using Dimensionals, a few of the daisies are raised to create some depth.

The finished projects the attendees made over Zoom were fabulous and it was lovely how everyone helped and offered advice to each other.

Card & Cuppa Plus – Daisy Lane yet again!

Before we commenced the recent social distancing requirements, I held my first Card & Cuppa Plus class. This is a Card & Cuppa class, but there are three projects, instead of just one.

This is one of the projects and it uses Daisy Lane yet again!

If this design looks familiar to you, it’s because it is. You might recognise this project.

I would actively encourage you to reuse designs. Why use a load of time trying to create something new if you know a design already works.

Here I’ve used the Daisy Lane Bundle, with the larger Daisy Punch too. My colour combination is the fabulous Purple Posy, Highland Heather and stamped off Old Olive.

Rounding the corners with the Detailed Trio Punch just softens the look. A Blender Pen has been used to pull some of the colour around the daisy petals too.

These daisy shapes have been layered on top of a piece of co-ordinating In Color Ribbon, before a Clear Faceted Gem is added to the centre.

To finish, a sentiment from the Label Me Bold Stamp Set is placed in the corner. Then, some Rhinestones coloured with a Dark Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend just add another touch of bling.

Saying Thank You with In Color 2019-2021

Today I’m sharing some cards I made with In Color 2019-2021 products.

I reached for Notecards and took my co-ordinating colour inspiration from the In Color Ribbon. Crumb Cake works beautifully with all of the In Color 2019-21 colours.

As I was using the same design for all of the daisies, I stamped them using Versamark so I didn’t have to keep changing ink pads. I just had to set the aside for a bit to allow them to dry properly.

A simple leaf background and layered stamped daisies, both from the Daisy Lane Bundle, made this project a breeze.

With a sentiment from the Waterfront Stamp Set cut out using the Classic Label Punch and a strip of In Color Ribbon, the project was quickly complete.

The finishing touch was some Wink of Stella in the centre of the daisies to give a bit of sparkle.
