Sending Dandelion Wishes

What better way to let someone know you are thinking of them than sending a handmade card. Over the past few weeks I’ve been sending dandelion wishes in the form of these little notes.

These monochrome Notecards in a range of colours were fun to make, but even nicer to send.

I made them using Notecards in Very Vanilla (above) and Whisper White (below). As these come in packs of 20, pre-scored and with matching envelopes, they are great for mass production.

The accent colours were Gorgeous Grape, Rich Razzleberry, Pacific Point, Rococo Rose and Melon Mambo. My Stamparatus came in handy for stamping the dandelions, as I could line them up in the same place each time.

The sentiment from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set, cut using the Classic Label punch, with a layered piece behind, just finished off each card. Seriously, if you haven’t got this punch in your collection, you NEED it. It’s my go-to punch and useful for so many different projects.

You can see the full range of the colours I used in the pictures below, these are Very Vanilla.

Here are the Whisper White ones. Do you have favourite?

I made sure that these cards could be sent on to someone else too as I wrote on a separate slip inside. It’s important to keep sharing nice things, and this was a perfect way to do just that.

Why not make your own cards to give to someone else, join one of my classes and get creative, or order your own products and make your own. Alternatively, if it’s ‘not your thing’, then let me send a card on your behalf.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Monochrome with Terracotta Tile and Very Vanilla

Last week I introduced the Card & Cuppa attendees to the final In Color 2019-2021. You know I love a monochrome project, so here’s a monochrome with Terracotta Tile and Very Vanilla.

I’ve used an image from the Waterfront Stamp Set for the background. The sentiment from Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set is then punched out using the 2″ Circle Punch.

The shapes are from the Sprig Punch and the small butterfly from the Butterfly Duet Punch.

A piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock is given a pretty edge with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch.

The butterfly is coloured with Wink of Stella before everything is assembled.

Thick Very Vanilla creates a perfect base card. A length of co-ordinating Terracotta Tile Ribbon is wrapped around both the Very Vanilla and Terracotta Tile layers.

Next, the border piece and leaves are added.

Finally, the sentiment and butterfly complete the project.

I really like this project as the colours and sentiments can be changed to suit most occasions.

For the class, I took along a few other sentiments and the attendees chose which one they wanted to use.

Why not join us at a future Card & Cuppa class, or one of my evening classes. Head to my Class Timetable for more details.

Seaside Spray with Dandelion Wishes

Following on from the previous Introduction to In Color Class project I shared, today we meet Seaside Spray.

This was one of the favourite projects among the class attendees.

This lovely light blue from the In Color 2019-2021 Collection is teamed here with So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz.

A strip was masked and sponge daubers used to create the soft two colour effect.

Using the Stamparatus, the large image and sentiment from the Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set were stamped onto the piece using Seaside Spray. The second image with the extra floating pieces was stamped afterwards as the placement was down to each individual.

Finally, a Rhinestone was added to the centre of the main dandelion and Wink of Stella on each piece. You can’t see it in this picture, but it gives the card a lovely subtle shimmer.

If you’re wondering how Seaside Spray fits into the colour range, here is a comparison I’ve put together with other current colours. It actually reminds me of the colour of my first car!
