For last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project, the attendees had fun with In Color.

It is my version of the project on Page 17 of the January-June Mini Catalogue.

I chose the same colours as the Catalogue project – Bumblebee, Magenta Madness and Just Jade.

Instead of stamping, the large shapes are from the Curvy Dies. These look like an abstract shape and work well with the rest of the project.

Each flower is then stuck on with a Glue Dot and has a co-ordinating In Color Enamel Dot for the centre. Fun With In Color. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

Finally, more Enamel Dots are added across the project in all of the 5 In Colors.

For this project, the attendees had the chance to stick to clean and simple, or show their wild side by scrunching, tearing, separating cardstock and going full on grunge. Of course, there was also the option of somewhere in the middle!

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Hippo & Friends Dies

At Card & (Your) Cuppa, I regularly ask the attendees to suggest projects they would like to make.

One of the recent responses has been a unicorn. So for last week’s card, we entered into a fantasy world.

All of the pieces are cut using the Hippo & Friends Dies, apart from the sentiment.

Quite a number of colours, Purple Posy, Highland Heather, Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Soft Sea Foam make an appearance in this project. I wanted it to be colourful, yet not too brash.

As the unicorn horn is a rather fiddly piece, wet glue was my preferred choice for sticking it to the body. It’s easier, and less messy, to pop some glue on the body, then add the horn.

This is then repeated for the balloon string.

With the layers stuck together with the unicorn on top, it was time to finish the project.

I chose to use the sentiment from the co-ordinating Hippo Happiness Stamp Set in Highland Heather Ink. The end is shaped using the Banners Pick a Punch.

The large piece, with the unicorn on top, is attached using Dimensionals to raise it off the page. Another Mini Dimensional attaches the balloon.

Three flowers, coloured with Wink of Stella are then scattered around using Glue Dots.

Finally, a tiny Gold Glitter Enamel Dot creates the eye and adds a touch more sparkle.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – All About the Angles

Last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project was all about the angles with this bright and cheery card.

The combination of Magenta Madness, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White really make it pop.

A piece of Artistry Blooms DSP, placed at an angle, creates the background layer.

Next, a piece of Whisper White, textured with the Ornate Floral Embossing Folder is added. This is also placed at an angle.

My top tip for playing with angles is to make it absolutely clear it is supposed to be like that, rather than just wonky!

A sentiment from the Lovely You Stamp Set, cut out using the Label Me Fancy Punch is layered onto a punched circle.

Three lengths of ribbons are placed across the project at various angles, before the sentiment is attached using Dimensionals.

Finally, various sizes of Gold Glitter Enamel Dots are added for some sparkle.

A design like this can be recreated using lots of different papers, embossing folders, ribbons, etc. Just pick what you want to use and have a play.

Sending you a Paper Hug

A card is a great way to say I’m sending you a paper hug. This one, quite literally says it!

It uses the Ornate Garden DSP and is really quick and easy to make.

By using the colours of the DSP, part of the hard work has been done for me. Bumblebee and Terracotta Tile are teamed with a Thick Whisper White base card.

A piece of the DSP is cut to size, then the bottom section is cut and turned around to show the other side.

A strip of In Color Ribbon is placed across the join. This then has a sentiment placed over the top of it.

The fabulous sentiment is from the Comfort & Hope Stamp Set, with the ends cut using the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. A co-ordinating layer is added to the sentiment.

Finally, two In Color Enamel Dots are added to each side of the sentiment.

As this design is perfect for any occasion. You could easily make a batch of these in advance and then add a relevant sentiment when they are ready to send.

All About the Blooms

This project is all about the blooms. It uses the Basket of Blooms Stamp Set and the co-ordinating Small Bloom Punch.

Recently, I shared this project with you. This is another version using the pot from the set, instead of the vase.

The colour combination is again Bumblebee, Terracotta Tile and Old Olive. Two of these are from the In Color collections.

In the stamp set, there are various flower and leaf stamps. This project uses one of the bloom images that co-ordinates with the Small Bloom Punch. Each bloom uses two images stuck together offset from each other.

Using a Blender Pen, I gently pulled the ink from the stamping to colour both the leaves and the flowers. A sentiment from the Well Said Stamp Set provides the sentiment, suitable for a number of occasions.

For a slightly different look, some lengths of ribbon from the Ornate Garden Combo Pack are stuck behind the white piece. The whole white piece is then attached with Dimensionals to raise it off the ribbons.

Finally, some tiny Gold Glitter Enamel Dots are added to the centre of each flower.

Basket of Blooms

I’ve been using my floral stamp sets, and this is a project using the Basket of Blooms Stamp Set.

This Stamp Set has flowers, recepticles for flowers (including a basket!), stems, and leaves. 14 stamps for just £16. Plus, some of the flowers co-ordinate with the Small Bloom Punch too.

For this project, I’ve used Bumblebee, Terracotta Tile and Old Olive, with Whisper White.

Stamping the small flower multiple times tone-on-tone creates a background. Strips of the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack in Old Olive and Terracotta Tile are then added. Basket of Blooms. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

One of the leaf images is stamped onto the Whisper White. It’s coloured with a Blender Pen and then cut out using the Tasteful Labels Dies.

The vase is stamped onto co-ordinating cardstock and cut out by hand, before being stuck onto the shape. A tiny flower is stamped onto Whisper White. It is again coloured with a Blender Pen and cut out by hand.

A sentiment from the Well Said Stamp Set is cut out by hand and placed across the vase.

Using Dimensionals, the shape is added to the card.

Finally, a small Gold Glitter Enamel Dot is added to the centre of the flower for a touch of sparkle.

Flowers for Every Season Suite

Have you come across the Flowers for Every Season Suite? It’s near the front of the Annual Catalogue.

I’ve had fun creating some cards with it. Here is the first one. It’s my version of a project on Page 11.

This Suite can only be described as a mega suite, it includes TWO Stamp Set Bundles and DSP, along with loads of other products.

The flowers are fussy cut from the 6×6 DSP in the Suite and stuck together. Cutting out the flowers was the most time consuming part of this project!

In Colors are used for the DSP, so I’ve co-ordinated this with a base card in Bumblebee. Another piece of DSP is used for the Cinnamon Cider strip at the bottom of the project.

One of the Bundles in the Suite is the Jar of Flowers Stamp Set and Jar Punch. Using Misty Moonlight and tone-on-tone stamping, the jar is stamped and punched.

For more depth, the flowers are attached to the project using Dimensionals.

As the DSP uses the new In Colors, it’s great to be able to use the co-ordinating In Color elements.

Here I’ve added a knotted piece of In Color Ribbons and some In Color Enamel Dots too for the finishing touches.

In Color Introduction Class – Misty Moonlight

I think you’ll agree this Misty Moonlight project is whaley great! Isn’t he cute? This project is one of six from my recent ‘In Color’ Introduction Class.

A colour combination of Misty Moonlight, Balmy Blue, Soft Sea Foam and Purple Posy work well together. I couldn’t not include Soft Sea Foam as part of this project!

The seaweed is from the Smooth Sailing Dies with the back one glued down completely first. Then the co-ordinating Baker’s Twine from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack is added. The next piece of seaweed is glued at the bottom and in a few places at the top to make it look like it is still has some movement.

Using the fabulous new Whale Builder Punch, pieces are cut in Misty Moonlight and Balmy Blue. He is put together to create a two-tone effect, with another fin on top.

An eye from the Playing with Patterns Resin Dots just adds a touch of character before he is stuck on with Dimensionals. A Mini Dimensional for under the tail, and regular ones for the body.

Finally, three Enamel Dots in Misty Moonlight create some bubbles.

In Color Introduction Class – Magenta Madness

If you are a fan of pink, then the new Magenta Madness ‘In Color’ is your gal. She’s a very bright in-your-face kind of pink.

For her ‘In Color’ Class project, Blushing Bride back and Whisper White flower pieces from the Many Layered Blossoms Dies did most of the work.

Using Adhesive Sheets on the Whisper White piece before cutting it out made things much simpler when it came to sticking the pieces together. Rather than spending ages with Fine-Tip Glue, the whole piece was already sticky and ready to adhere.

If you’re adding Wink of Stella, particuarly in the centre of the flowers, do it before sticking the pieces together. It’s a lot easier.

With the two pieces now one, it was attached to the Magenta Madness basecard using Fine-Tip Glue.

Using the Itty Bitty Birthday Stamp Set and a Classic Label Punch shape, the sentiment is perfect for this project.

It has a couple of lengths of co-ordinating ‘In Color’ ribbon crossed behind it.

Finally, Enamel Dots were placed on the project.

I think these Dies, with the matching Stamp Set in the Bundle are going to be regulars on my craft desk in the coming months. There are so many different ways to use them.

In Color Introduction Class – Cinnamon Cider

At my annual ‘In Color’ Introduction Class, each new colour has a project dedicated to it. This is the project for Cinnamon Cider.

It’s a more masculine project and just uses Cinnamon Cider, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake.

As well as the new colours, we use new products too. The fabulous Old World Paper Embossing folder gets an outing here.

The piece has to be torn around the edges to give a more aged look. Some of the attendees found this part really hard as they think tearing their paper is an act of vandalism!

I can’t wait to create even more projects with this folder. I’ve got visions of getting very inky with Sponge Daubers for some more tearing and serious distressing. Sorry ladies!

The pretty feather shape from the Nature’s Thoughts dies sits really well on the Everyday Label Punch shape.

A length of the extremely tactile Early Espresso Faux Suede Trim is looped behind. You are going to need a lot of this ribbon as you’ll want some to stroke – it really is that fabulous.

To finish, an Enamel Dot in Cinnamon Cider is sat either side of the punched shape.
