Crafty Christmas Weekend Workouts – Week 9 Day 2

This is the second slightly delayed Crafty Christmas Weekend Workout and is another ‘fancy’ Christmas Card.

3D Present Card Stampin' Up!

The inside of this card is the star of the show, so the outside is slightly understated.

However, a card this size (again A5) lends itself to using one of the fabulous large sentiments from the Wonderful Year Stamp Set and layering it onto a piece of Gold card.

3D Present Card Stampin' Up!

When you open up the card, you are treated to a stack of presents. You can use any DSP, Washi Tape and twine for the presents and decorate them how you like. I’ve used non-Christmas DSP here, but have chosen more festive colours.

I really like this card as the inside is a surprise until it is opened, and who doesn’t like unexpected presents!

Crafty Christmas Weekend Workouts – Week 9 Day 1

This weekend’s Crafty Christmas Weekend Workouts are a bit delayed this week, due to various reasons.

Today we are going to focus on those cards for that special someone. This project is from the ‘Fancy Christmas Cards’ class I ran last week.

Reason for the Season Stampin' Up!

This card uses the Reason for the Season Stamp Set and the coordinating Festive Flower Builder Punch.

The completed card is larger than usual as it is A5 (just a sheet of A4 folded in half), but this gives the Poinsettia a lovely base to sit on.

Using the 2-step stamps in the set we created a random background of Poinsettias and a background for the banner from a strip of Gold Metallic Card. This complements the Gold Baker’s Twine perfectly.

We used tone-on-tone stamping in Real Red and Garden Green to create the Poinsettia, before punching out the leaves and petals, folding them along the central vein to create dimension, and then assembling. The accent colour is Crushed Curry and this also coordinates nicely with the gold touches.

Pop back tomorrow when I’ll have the other delayed Crafty Christmas Weekend Workout for you…
