Finishing Up Friday – Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set & Dies

This week’s Finishing Up Friday uses leftover items from an online Stampin’ Up! training event from earlier in the year.

At the training event, we were crafting with the Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set and Splendid Stems Dies and creating projects together. So the leaves on this project were in my ‘use me’ pile.

The colour combination is Soft Sea Foam, Calypso Coral and Basic White. All of the stamping is in Black using Tuxedo Ink.

Using a Blending Brush, I have created a colour flare in the background with Soft Sea Foam Ink.

Next, the leaves are layered together.

A length of coordinating Seam Binding Ribbon sits across the project.

My sentiment is from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set and cut out using a shape from the Holly Berry Dies.

More Seam Binding Ribbon creates some loops on either side of the sentiment.

The sentiment is then raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, some Fine Sparkle Adhesive Backed Gems in Calypso Coral are dotted across the project.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Splendid Thoughts Bundle

Last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa used the Splendid Thoughts Bundle from the July-December Mini Catalogue.

A muted colour combination of Crumb Cake, Petal Pink and Calypso Coral created a soft project, perfect for anyone in need of a paper hug.

Using the Splendid Stems Dies from the Bundle, various leaves were cut out in the colours.

Some of the coordinating leaves were stuck to the Crumb Cake strip. Other leaves were then layered behind the strip.

Coordinating Petal Pink Ribbon creates a swoosh. An Open Leaf Trinket is then looped onto a piece of Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine to hang down the card.

Using a sentiment from the Sending Thoughts Stamp Set, this was stamped and cut out using the Dies and sits on top of the ribbon.

Finally, some Fine Sparkle Gems in Calypso Coral are dotted across the project.

SAB Hippest Hippos Stamp Set & Dies

When your business is called HIPPOFROG Designs, it is only a matter of time before the fabulous new SAB Hippest Hippos Stamp Set and coordinating Hippo Dies make an appearance here.

With the unusually hot weather we have been experiencing here in the UK over the past few days, this hip hippo is keeping very cool!

The background hippo is stamped tone-on tone onto Pool Party.

Using Basic Gray, the main hippo is stamped and cut out using the Hippo Dies. This is one of the three hippest hippos in the stamp set.

Waves, sunglasses and the splash are cut out using the Dies too.

I have coloured the hippo using Watercolor Pencils, then used a Blender Pen to soften any pencil marks.

Watercolour Pencils have also been used on the waves and the dark part of the sunglasses.

The waves and splash are stuck onto the circle cut from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Sunglasses are added to the hippo before it is attached.

A sentiment, also from the Hippest Hippos Stamp Set is then added.

The whole piece is raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, a few of the new Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems from the new July-December Mini Catalogue are added.
