First Inking of Amazing Silhouettes

I can’t believe this card I made for Mothering Sunday was my first inking of the Amazing Silhouettes Stamp Set.

It’s inspired by page 40 of the Mini Catalogue.

My colour combination is Calypso Coral, Pool Party and Very Vanilla, with metallic accents.

To achieve the mottled effect for the stamping, I have used a sponge dauber to ink up the stamp. This technique is great fun as you achieve something unique every time. I think I may need to do a Top Tips video on the process.

A length of Simply Elegant Trim is added and tied in a knot.

Using the Floral Gallery Dies, the words sit across the stamping. These dies are currently part of a Special Offer during March, so make sure you grab the discounted Bundle from the promotion before the end of the month.

Finally, some Brass Butterflies are added. These provide another metallic element to coordinate with the trim.

Art Gallery and Subtles for a Birthday

This Birthday card, inspired by the Annual Catalogue, is a great project to use the fabulous Art Gallery Stamp Set and matching Dies.

If you missed the Bundle in last year’s Mini Catalogue, make sure you check out the fabulous March promotion. Not only has it returned for the promotion, it is also available at a discounted price.

My project is inspired by Page 13 of the Annual Catalogue and I chose to use the Subtles colour family. Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz and Balmy Blue, along with Very Vanilla.

The background is from the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and I have added a touch of coulour using a Blending Brush.

Each floral image and leaves have been stamped twice and cut out using the Floral Gallery Dies.

These pieces have then been cut down further to allow for the layering.

Once again, the Stamp Set and Dies from the Bundle create the layered sentiment.

This sits on Dimensionals, with a bow made from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack just next to it.

Finally, coordinating Artistry Blooms sequins complete the card.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Going Grunge with Art Gallery Dies

For Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa Class project, there was the opportunity for the attendees to get their grunge on.

I recently made this project and thought that it would be a good design to recreate for class.

My colour combination is Pool Party, Misty Moonlight and Basic White.

The layer is set at an angle to add to the grunge feel.

For the Basic White piece, this is first embossed using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. I’ve then used a Sponge Dauber to ink over patches of it.

Using an emery board, I’ve taken this to the edges to distress them, and also over the top of some of the texture. It’s then set at an angle.

Going Grunge with Art Gallery Dies. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs The circles, cut using the the Layering Circles Dies have a touch of ink added to the edges before they are layered together.

Floral Gallery Dies provide the sentiment that is stuck onto the circles.

This central piece is stuck on top of a swoosh of Pool Party Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

Finally, some coordinating In Color Square Gems are added.

Attendees could grunge as much or little as they liked. When I design a grunge project, there is always the opportunity for those who don’t like the style to keep theirs clean and simple.

Rich Razzleberry & Soft Succulent Art Gallery Flowers

For today’s project, I’m taking inspiration from Page 13 of the Annual Catalogue.

My colour combination is Rich Razzleberry, Soft Succulent and Very Vanilla. I’m a bit of a fan of this combo.

The background is from the Stitched Greenery Die. I’ve then added some colour using a Blending Brush.

For the flowers, I’ve used the Art Gallery Stamp Set and stamped the image twice. They are then cut them out using the coordinating Floral Gallery Dies.

Some Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack forms a bow around the stem of one of the flowers.

These are added the project using a combination of Mini and regular Dimensionals.

Using the sentiment from the Stamp Set, again cut out with the dies, this has a piece of Soft Succulent Ribbon attached. The whole piece sits across the centre of the flowers.

Finally, some Artistry Blooms Sequins are dotted across the project.

A No Stamping Project

For this card, there is no stamping to be found. It uses DSP as the background, and dies for the sentiment instead.

The main colour is Mint Macaron, taken from the Hand-Penned DSP backgroud piece. I’ve then paired it with Just Jade. There is some Basic White too, to coordinate with the stripes in the paper.

Shapes from the Layering Circles Dies provide the background for my sentiment.

The sentiment is from the Floral Gallery Dies and this sits on top of my circles. I found carefully using small dots of Multipurpose Glue worked, but you could use Fine-Tip Glue or Adhesive Sheets.

There are two pieces jutting out from beneath the circles and this is also a shape from the Floral Gallery Dies. I’ve just cut it in half to create two.

Using Dimensionals, the sentiment piece is raised up in the centre.

Finally, I’ve added some Genial Gems, also in Mint Macaron to just add a very tiny touch of sparkle.

This is a great neutral project and perfect for any occasion. It’s my first time using the ‘just want to say’ from the dies and it won’t be my last. I’ve got a few ideas bouncing around my head now!

Celebrate with Flowers – Project 5

Along with the four projects taught at my recent Stamp Set of the Month Class, the attendees were given a link to a video showing them how to create two bonus cards using the items in their class kit.

This collage effect card is the first bonus project.

All of the stamping from the Celebrate with Flowers Stamp Set is done onto shapes cut using the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch.

As before, it uses Pale Papaya, Mint Macaron and Highland Heather, along with Basic White for the colour combination.

The coloured shapes have tone-on-tone stamping. Most of the shapes have some Wink of Stella added for some sparkle.

The most difficult part of this project is deciding where each shape will go.

Once that is decided, each piece is stuck to a layer, with the overhang then cut off. Then, this layer is stuck straight to the card.

For the ribbon swoosh, a piece of the Pale Papaya & White Woven Ribbon is cut down the centre to create a raw edge, similar to the edge of the shapes.

The rest of this piece of ribbon is used in the final project from the class. Pop back tomorrow to see that design.

A sentiment from the Art Gallery Stamp Set, cut with the Floral Gallery Dies is then added on Dimensionals.

To finish the project, Rhinestones are dotted around the card.

Using one shape is a great way to create a design. I really love this collage effect.
