Saying Hello – In Color 2022-2024: Parakeet Party

The next In Color I’m saying ‘hello’ to is Parakeet Party.

I think this is one of my favourites of the new In Colors from the new Annual Catalogue.

Following on from the Orchid Oasis project, here is another monochrome card in the same design.

I love using monochrome designs to show off a colour. You can see how vibrant and zingy this one is.

Again, this project uses the coordinating In Color DSP stack for the diagonal strip, following the pattern line for the angle.

The In Color Metallic Woven Ribbon hides the join.

A square, cut using the new Stylish Shapes Dies sits in a diamond shape, once again following the lines of the DSP.

This has a leaf from the Forever Fern Stamp Set cut out with the Greenery Dies sitting on top.

Finally, coordinating In Color Matte Decorative Dots are added.

Being sentiment free, this card can be used for any occasion. It could also have a sentiment added just before it is sent.

Saying Hello, But Almost Goodbye

This quick and easy ‘hello’ card is made using In Colors we will shortly saying farewell to.

The 2020-2022 In Colors will soon be leaving us to make way for five new ones.

I think I’m going to miss Misty Moonlight and Just Jade the most, but I’m excited to find out about the new colours that will replace them.

Don’t wait until the Retiring List is released to get your hands on these outgoing In Colors. Order them while you still can.

This project uses the In Color Cardstock pack and each colour is cut out using the Tailored Tag Punch.

Each piece is then arranged and any overhang cut away.

A sentiment from the Forever Fern Stamp Set then has the edges shaped using the same punch, to mirror the angles, before it is raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, coordinating In Colour Square Gems are added to each shape.

This project is such a simple one to replicate and you could use any colours, DSP, sentiments and more.

My colour combination is Flirty Flamingo and Very Vanilla, with two In Colors, Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent.

I’ve used the Forever Fern Stamp Set and coordinating Forever Flourishing Dies from the Annual Catalogue.

The background splats are stamped and the leaves are stamped and cut out using the Stamp Set and Dies.

A length of the Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon creates the swoosh.

Using the sentiment from the Stamp Set, this is cut out using the Double Oval Punch and attached with Dimensionals.

Today’s project uses the Forever Fern Stamp Set Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Pear Pizzazz, with Very Vanilla.

Once the background is created, it’s just a matter of adding the relevant sentiment on top.

I chose to round the corners of my project using the Detailed Trio Punch.

This mirrors the layers for my sentiment that are cut using the Layering Circles Dies.

The sentiment then sits on top of a length of coordinating In Color Ribbon.

A few In Colour Jewels are added as a finishing touch.

A Penguin of Positivity

The cute penguins from the new July-December Mini Catalogues are a big hit.

As they are now returning to work and I know they like penguins, I thought I’d send a little penguin of positivity!

Using the free SAB Penguin Playmates DSP the background is created. I’ve used colours from the paper for my basecard and layers.

My sentiment is from the Forever Fern Stamp Set, again layered onto one of the colours from the DSP.

The penguin is also from the DSP. It’s great as it can be cut out using the Penguin Builder Punch. I love how this SAB paper coordinates with catalogue items. It is then raised up using Dimensionals.

Finally, a few Rhinestones are dotted across the top for some sparkle.

Lots of Green Greenery

With the arrival of new products, we often forget about the items we loved before the new ones came along.

Lots of Green Greenery. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs For today’s project, I’m sharing some love for the neglected Forever Fern Stamp Set, Forever Flourishing Dies and Greenery Embossing Folder.

They are, however, mixed with new In Colors of Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen, plus Very Vanilla.

First, I used a Sponge Dauber to add a very delicate touch of colour to the Very Vanilla piece. It’s barely visible, but it makes a very subtle difference.

Then, I stamped and die cut the various leaves. These were in a variety of first and second generation stamping. Be sure to check out my Top Tips video if you’re not sure what that means.

After I’d stuck the leaves down, I embossed a piece of Soft Succulent. This was stuck over the edges of the leaves, leaving a thin strip of Very Vanilla showing.

For the sentiment, the Many Messages Stamp Set and coordinating Messages Die were a perfect fit.

It sits on a length of Evening Evergreen Chevron Weave Ribbon for a finishing touch.

I really love this project and think it would look great in a variety of different colours. Blues and purples spring to mind.

Heartfelt Thank You With Forever Fern

I recently made these Thank You cards for my Mum.

Mum asked me to make a batch of cards she could send to those who have supported her since we lost Dad in January.

As Dad loved all things nature, I just had to use the Forever Fern Stamp Set.

It’s a simple, yet striking design in various shades of green with Very Vanilla providing a lovely warm contrast.

The leaves are stamped in Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz, with the background splats in Old Olive for extra texture.

To speed up the stamping process and ensure all the leaves were in the same place on each card, I used my Stamparatus.

Finally, the Vine Design Stamp Set and Mossy Meadow ink create the sentiment.

With the sentiment fitting perfectly in a Double Oval Punch shape, it then sits on top of a length of co-ordinating Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim.

Plenty of Pinks for a 40th Birthday

A friend who is a fan of all things pink and sparkly had their 40th Birthday recently.

With the new Annual Catalogue providing another pink in this year’s In Colors. I had plenty of pinks to choose from.

My colour combination is Polished Pink, Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo and the project is version of this previous card. This project is a large A5 card. Plenty of Pinks for a 40th Birthday. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

For the flowers, I have used the In Bloom Bundle – In Bloom Stamp Set and Pierced Blooms Dies from the January-June Mini Catalogue.

The background is a combination of the In Bloom Stamp Set and the Forever Fern Stamp Set. Using a Sponge Dauber, I’ve also added touch of extra colour behind the flowers.

Vine Design provides the Happy Birthday sentiment and is cut out using the Messages Die, again, both are from the January-June Mini Catalogue.

A long length of the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack in Blushing Bride with a bow wraps around the card.

I’m not sure that you can see the huge amount of Wink of Stella I’ve used on the project to create a lot of sparkle. It is on the flowers and also dotted across the background too.

Finally, for a bit more sparkle, Rhinestones and In Color Jewels are added.

Butterfly Brilliance Bundle Birthday

This pretty butterfly from the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle flew to one of my Nieces for her Birthday.

I chose a soft colour combination of Petal Pink, Pear Pizzazz and Gray Granite, with Very Vanilla

With the corners rounded using the Detailed Trio Punch, it was time for the stamping.

The leaves and splatter images from Forever Fern Stamp Set create the backdrop for the butterfly.

Butterfly Brilliance Bundle Birthday. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs Using the items from the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle, the butterfly is stamped and cut out. To add a touch of colour, I used Stampin’ Blends, using the darker blend on the darker patches of stamping and the lighter blend for the rest.

Finally, some Elegant Faceted Gems in co-ordinating Petal Pink add a subtle touch of bling.

Welcoming a New Team Member

Earlier this month, a Stampin’ Up! fan joined my team of Lily Pad Stampers .

Here is the card I sent to welcome them.

The Quite Curvy Stamp Set, with the matching Dies, from the January-June Mini Catalogue, allowed me to add a few of their favourite things on the card.

My colour combination for the cardstock is Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and White.

I’ve used Whisper White in my project, which has now been replaced with Basic White. See this post for full details while I work through my supply.

A background using an image from the Forever Fern Stamp Set adds a pretty splatter effect. The sentiment in the corner is a great welcome message as they start their Stampin’ Up! journey.

After stamping the leaves and birds in Basic Gray, using the dies to cut them out, it was onto colouring. Stampin’ Blends in Old Olive, So Saffron, Petal Pink and Highland Heather to create a soft look.

As the recipient is also a big fan of Wink of Stella, the birds were given a touch of sparkle.

The pieces are then stuck to the card, with the birds raised up on Dimensionals. Welcoming a New Team Member. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs I then added some Pastel Pearls, again in Highland Heather to finish the card.

I know the new team member is going to enjoy purchasing their products (especially Wink of Stella) at a discounted price. Plus, as they have joined now, they have just been able to view the brand new Catalogue that is launching in May.
