Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Inspired by Wimbledon 2019

As Wimbledon 2019 started last week, it was time for my Annual ‘Inspired by Wimbledon’ Card & Cuppa project.

Each year, the project is usually purple, green, yellow and white. This year I chose Purple Posy, Highland Heather, Soft Sea Foam and So Saffron. These colours created a lovely muted and subtle project.

The background is stamped with a combination of textured shapes from the Artisan Textures Stamp Set and leaves from the Pop of Petals Stamp Set. ‘Celebrate…’ is from the Beautiful You Stamp Set.

Using the Detailed Trio Punch, the corners are rounded.

A strip of So Saffron is made by cutting two shapes using the Classic Label Punch. With an extra layer made for the sentiment using the Pretty Label Punch, these are added to the project.

Finally, the flower, with a centre from 1/2″ Circle Punch and a touch of Wink of Stella is added to the card.

Bright Birthday Card

It was a friend, and fellow Stampin’ Up! fan’s Birthday, so I made this Bright Birthday Card for them.

It uses the Bright Collection for the colours with Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green mixed with Whisper White.

A Decorative Mask and Sponge Daubers create the background with a strip of Poppy Parade Cardstock across the middle.

The sentiment is from the Itty bitty Birthdays Stamp Set and cut out using the Tailored Tag Punch. This is then layered onto another Tailored Tag shape.

The flowers and leaves use the Pop of Petals Stamp Set and matching Four-Petal Flower Punch. Each flower has a Sponge Daubered centre with Wink of Stella added afterwards.

The Pop of Petals Bundle (Stamp Set & Punch) is only available as a discounted Bundle until 3rd June. After then, they will be available at full price in the new Annual Catalogue.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Punch Art Dragon

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project, this punch art dragon has a bit of twist.

I hold separate Card & Cuppa for Children projects during the summer holidays and usually design a separate project for them as well. This year, I decided that both the adult and children sessions should make the same project.

The cafe where I hold the sessions for Children has a theme of activities for each week of the holidays and it was ‘Mystical’. This is where the dragon comes in.

I also couldn’t decide on which one I liked, so I made both!

I’d seen similar projects on Pinterest, but they all used Ovals, which we no longer have in punch format. So I did my own take on the designs using punches we have available.

To create the body pattern I used Playful Backgrounds in either Granny Apple Green or Gorgeous Grape.

The clouds are from Lift Me Up and again stamped tone-on-tone in Balmy Blue.

After a bit of cutting out to create the neck piece, several punches are used to create the head, eye socket and nose.

Then it’s smaller circles in Whisper White and Basic Black for the eyes and nose and Classic Label for the fangs. The scales are from the new four-petal flower, cut into four.

It was then a case of putting everything together and attaching the head with Dimensionals.

An optional sentiment from Happy Birthday Gorgeous was the finishing touch.

Both the Card & Cuppa (Adults) and Card & Cuppa for Children attendees created fabulous projects.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Inspired by Wimbledon

Every year at Card & Cuppa, I design a project inspired by Wimbledon Tennis Tournament colours.

Here is this year’s Purple, Green and Yellow card.

This card uses the same bundle we used last week – Pop of Petals with the Four-Petal Punch. Touches of Texture is where the flowers and ‘splats’ come from.

The leaves are Granny Apple Green with Gorgeous Grape flowers. The background stamp is in Pineapple Punch.

A crucial part was stamping the butterflies 7 times using Memento Ink, 3 on the card and 4 onto a strip on Pineapple Punch cardstock.

To add more depth to the butterflies, parts are coloured with the matching Stampin’ Write Marker. On one of the butterflies, the colouring is covered with Wink of Stella before punching.

3 of the butterflies are then stuck over the background butterflies. The final butterfly is then added with a Dimensional to look like it is flying off the card.

A great summery sentiment free card that is suitable for a lot of different occasions.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Pop of Petals

At last week’s Card & Cuppa session the attendees got to play with a new bundle – Pop of Petals.

This project is my version of the sample on Page 47 of the Annual Catalogue. I’ve used Petal Pink, Pear Pizzazz, Gorgeous Grape and Flirty Flamingo ink.

The stamp set has a number of flower designs that co-ordinate with the Four-Petal Flower Punch. Word of warning here, the punch and images need to marry up as the punch is not symmetrical.

Firstly, a pretty image of several flowers in the set creates the background. Two different flower images are used in this design, one is for the flowers in Flirty Flamingo onto Petal Pink cardstock. Second is the leaves using tone-on-tone stamping and then cutting the image into four.

I love the sentiment from Picture Perfect Birthday as makes a great centrepiece.

Using Blender Pens we softened the flowers by moving ink from the stamping to colour the images.

Wink of Stella adds sparkle in the centre of the flowers. Finally, everything was built from the bottom to the top using a combination of SNAIL and Dimensionals to create depth.
