Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Uniquely Artistic Stamp Set

At last week’s Card & Cuppa project, I used the Uniquely Artistic Stamp Set.

I hadn’t used this Stamp Set at a class before, so revisited this previous project and changed the colours.

A lot of my class attendees are fans of pink and purple, so my colour combination reflects this. It’s Gorgeous Grape, Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride and Basic White.

The background leaves are stamped in Gorgeous Grape and a Blender Pen is then used to pull the ink from the image.

Next, three flowers are stamped in Melon Mambo onto a separate piece of cardstock and coloured uisng a Small Blending Brush and Blushing Bride Ink.

These are then fussy cut, leaving a border around the edge. The centres are then given a touch of sparkle using some Wink of Stella.

More sparkle then comes from a swoosh of Glittered Organdy Ribbon.

The flowers are glued together and then stuck to the project in one piece using Dimensionals.

A sentiment from the Art Gallery Stamp Set is then added to the centre of the flowers.

Finally, some coordinating Opaque Adhesive-Backed Gems are scattered across the project.

Abstract Beauty Thank You Cards

For my recent customers I made these pretty thank you cards.

They use items from the Abstract Beauty Suite Collection in the Jan-June Mini Catalogue.

The Suite has lots of products and I’ve used the DSP, Stamp Set and Dies to create this project.

My starting point was the DSP and I chose to use coordinating Blushing Bride and Night of Navy from the sheets as my colours.

As the DSP does a lot of the work, each card only needs a sentiment and some ribbon to finish.

The Stamp Set and Die Bundle from the collection provide the sentiment and shapes. These are then layered together.

Using a swoosh of the Glittered Organdy Ribbon, carried over from the July-Dec Mini Catalogue, helps to coordinate with the gold foil pieces on the DSP.

I love how quick and simple these cards are. Great for making in batches.

Countdown to Christmas 2021 #10

The 10th project in my Countdown to Christmas 2021 series is this card from my recent Special Christmas Cards online Class.

At my Special Christmas Cards Class, each attendee makes three cards. These are the sorts of cards that you would give in person, rather than post.

It has become tradition over the years that one project at this annual class is a poinsettia design. This year’s design has a White and Gold theme.

Using the Poinsettia Dies, the shapes are cut from Vellum and the 12×12 Gold Shimmer Vellum. This Gold Shimmer Vellum is on the Last Chance list, so make sure you grab a pack.

A swoosh of the Glittered Organdy Ribbon is added for the poinsettia to sit on. If you want to learn how to create a swoosh like this, take a look at my Top Tip, Tricks & Techniques video on it.

Each of the layers is stuck together with a combination of Glue Dots and Dimensionals. The attendees could decide how much depth they wanted to give their project.

Once the poinsettia was sat over the ribbon, some Wonderful Gems were added to each corner and one in the centre. The Wonderful Gems are also on the Last Chance Products List.

As well as the cards, the attendees made a box for the card to go in and decorated them as they liked. This is the one I created for this project.

Countdown to Christmas 2021 #8

The next project in my Countdown to Christmas 2021 series is another project from my recent Crack Your Christmas Cards Class.

Well, in fact it’s actually 3 projects as I’m sharing the rest of the projects from the class. I’m concentrating on this one, but the other two are at the end of this post.

We’re still trying to decide if this is a reinguin, a pendolph, or something else!

All the projects from the class used the Penguin Place Bundle (Penguin Place Stamp Set & Penguin Builder Punch) from the Mini Catalogue.

This project uses Cherry Cobbler.

The penguin is stamped, punched and the feet are added. Then, the antlers are stamped near to the top of the circle, cut using the Layering Circles Dies.

A length of Glittered Organdy Ribbon is then added. With the circles layered, these then sit over the end of the ribbon to make it look like a hanging bauble.

Next, a bow made from the ribbon sits at the top.

A sparkly red nose, from the Holiday Rhinestones are then added.

Finally, a few more coordinating rhinestones are dotted across the project.

The next project is this cute penguin with a Coastal Cabana flare created with a Sponge Dauber. You could also use a Blending Brush. He sits on a pretty snowflake.

And finally, this cute penguin who is wrapped up warm in the snow. It uses Shaded Spruce as the main colour.

Countdown to Christmas 2021 #7

The 7th project in my Countdown to Christmas 2021 series is this card from my recent ‘Crack Your Christmas Cards’ class.

At the class there were 16 cards to make, 4 each of 4 different designs. This is the first project.

It’s similar to this poinsettia project I shared a few weeks ago. I love reusing designs, it’s such a quick and easy way of making something new.

All of the projects from the class use the Penguin Place Bundle (Penguin Place Stamp Set & Penguin Builder Punch from the Mini Catalogue.

In the Class Kit, the attendees also received some Glittered Organdy Ribbon and Holiday Rhinestones, as well as all the cardstock they needed.

My colour combination is Night of Navy, Coastal Cabana and Basic White, plus Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie for the penguin.

To begin, the background is randomly stamped, using the snowflakes and star images from the set.

Then, lengths of the ribbon are added to look like a present.

The penguin is stamped and punched out using the Bundle, plus a hat and scarf are fussy cut.

Two shapes are cut using the Essential Tag Punch. These are offset and the penguin is then adhered on top.

This section is raised up using Dimensionals.

Finally, a few coordinating Holiday Rhinestones are added to the project.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Starburst and Halloween Punch

For last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa, I designed a halloween project where the layout could be used for a non-halloween card too.

I chose Halloween colours of Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie and Mango Melody, along with Basic White.

The background is made using the starburst technique. I’ll be doing a quick video on how to make one of these cards, so keep an eye on my Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques videos over the coming weeks.

Halloween Punch. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs Using a shape from the Hippo & Friends Dies, this is added to the edge, with the overhang cut away. A few lengths of the Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon sit behind this.

Two pumpkins and a ghost are cut using the Halloween Punch and added to the shape.

Finally, some Black Matte Dot eyes are added to the shapes.

As you can see, you could easily swap the Halloween shapes for a sentiment, or other shape. Plus, any colours or DSP can be used for the starburst background.

SSOTM with Penguin Place – Project 6

Today I’m sharing the final project from this month’s SSOTM Class.

It’s the second of the two bonus projects those who opted for the Class Bundle received.

It uses the Class Bundle of the Penguin Place Stamp Set and Penguin Builder Punch from the Mini Catalogue.

The colours are Fresh Freesia, Balmy Blue and Basic White, with Black and Pumpkin Pie for the penguins.

The tags are cut using the Fancy Tag Topper Punch. Each is stamped with images from the Class Stamp Set and then has pieces of Glittered Organdy Ribbon, tied on with Baker’s Twine looped through them.

A thank you sentiment is added to the bottom of the white tag.

Next, the outer tags are stuck down, with the middle tag raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, the trio of penguins are added to the trio of tags.

A Fabulous 50th

A very good friend celebrated their 50th Birthday earlier this week.

As they are a fan of Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry and sparkle, my colour combination was easy to decide.

I chose to make a square card and I used lots of different products to create this project.

The images and die cutting are from the Artistically Inked Bundle (Artistically Inked Stamp Set and Artistic Dies), Quiet Meadow Stamp Set and the Playful Alphabet Dies.

To begin, the background piece was stamped with the small flowers from Artistically Inked, plus some splats from Quiet Meadow.

This was then run through the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. Next, using a Blending Brush, I gave a vintage feel to the background. I like how it looks like dried flowers.

Different generations of stamping create the flowers for the centre piece.

The layering begins with the die cut leaves, then the Fine Art Ribbon and Glitter Organdy Ribbon. As there isn’t a Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blend Combo, the light Blackberry Bliss Blend was a good substitute to colour the ribbon.

I then layered the flowers together on a separate piece of cardstock and popped some more die cut leaf pieces around them. Raising the whole piece up on Dimensionals added a lot more depth.

’50’ is coated in Wink of Stella and added to the corner. Again, using Dimensionals, the sentiment lays across the flowers. As this project was being hand delivered, I used several layers of Dimensionals.

Finally, some Metallic Pearls are dotted around the project.
