Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Slight Grunge in Sepia Tones

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project was this slightly grunge-type project in sepia tones.

Having been asked recently for some more ‘generic’ designs, this one fits that brief.

My colour combination was Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.

Using the splat image from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set and the leaf from the Inked & Tiles Stamp Set, the background piece is stamped.

Using a Blending Brush, the edges are given a touch of extra colour for a slight grunge effect.

The banner pieces are cut using the Nested Essentials Dies, but by drawing around the edge shape, rather than cutting them out. Another leaf is stamped onto the Very Vanilla shape and given a touch of grunge before the pieces are layered together.

Go To Greetings is the Stamp Set that provides the sentiment. This is cut out and stuck to the banner.

A length of coordinating Pecan Pie ribbon is stuck to the back of the banner before the whole piece is stuck to the project using Dimensionals.

Finally, some Classic Matte Dots in Very Vanilla are added.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Thinking of You in Green and Blue

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project was this Thinking of You card.

I regularly ask my attendees what sort of cards they would like to create, and was asked for Thinking of You, so here it is.

For this project, I chose a combination of green and blue with Soft Sea Foam, Lost Lagoon and Balmy Blue, along with Very Vanilla.

The delicate background is created in Soft Sea Foam using one of the Foursquare Decorative Masks and a Blending Brush.

Next, leaves from the Layering Leaves Stamp Set are stamped in Lost Lagoon and punched out using the coordinating Bough Punch.

The flower from the Two-Tone Flora Stamp Set is then created using Balmy Blue, with first and second generation stamping to create the layers. It is cut out using a Circle Punch from the Online Exclusives range. A gentle touch of sparkle is added to the centre of the flower with Wink of Stella.

Thinking of You is from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set.

Each piece is then layered together onto the background, with the flower raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, some Pearls are coloured using Stamping Blends and added to the project.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Medley Mix Stamp Set

I have been asked for a ‘thinking of you’ card by my Card & Cuppa attendees, so here is last week’s project.

It uses the new Medley Mix Stamp Set from the new Mini Catalogue, along with the Inked & Tile Punch Pack that it coordinates with.

For this project I chose more muted colours of Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.

The eagle-eyed among you will notice that this design is inspired by the projects in the catalogue.

Leaves and the background detail are from the Layering Leaves Stamp Set, with the leaves cut out with the coordinating Bough Punch.

Other images are from the Medley Mix Stamp Set, with the circle cut using the 1 3/4″ punch from the Online Exclusives range.

Thinking of you is from the the Go To Greetings stamp set. All of the pieces are layered together with the sentiment on the top.

Finally, a few Iridescent Pearls are added.

I think this project would look great in a number of colour ways and with different sentiments too.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Bottled Happiness and Layering Leaves

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project paired the Bottled Happiness and Layering Leaves Stamp Sets.

My earthy colour combination is Copper Clay and Moody Mauve new In Colors, along with Pretty Peacock and Misty Moonlight, plus Very Vanilla.

This combination is great for a neutral project suitable for anyone.

Both of these stamp sets for this design have matching punches, the Vintage Bottle Punch and the Bough Punch. You may remember I forgot to take the Bough Punch to this class several weeks ago, so I decided to remedy that!

To begin, a line is stamped across the background using an image from the Inked & Tiled Stamp Set. As the line isn’t quite long enough to go all the way across, it is stamped twice with the join under the bottles.

Using Go To Greetings, a sentiment is also stamped into the top corner.

Next, the bottles, leaves and flowers are stamped in Copper Clay, Pretty Peacock and Moody Mauve using a mixture of first, second and third generation stamping. The tall bottle, leaves and flowers are then punched out. As the Pretty Peacock shorter bottle doesn’t have a coordinating punch, it is cut out by hand.

A length of the In Color Textured Ribbon, in Copper Clay is stuck across the piece.

The leaves are then arranged to look like they are in the shorter bottle using a combination of glue and glue dots.

This and the tall bottle are then stuck to the project, the tall bottle directly, the other with Dimensionals.

A touch of Wink of Stella is then added to the Moody Mauve flowers. Finally, some Iridescent Rhinestones add some more bling.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Tropical Leaf Bundle

For last week’s Card & Cuppa project, I used a new Bundle from the Online Exclusives range.

This is the Tropical Leaf Stamp Set and Punch Bundle.

My project is inspired by one of the pictures from the website when you view these products.

As I wanted this project to be a more neutral and suitable for anyone, I chose the greens of Garden Green, Mossy Meadow and Old Olive, with Very Vanilla.

First, the stems are stamped in Mossy Meadow. Next, a colour flare is added in Old Olive using a Blending Brush.

Large and small leaves are then stamped in a combination of first and generation stamping onto a separate piece of cardstock.

The larger leaves are cut out using the coordinating Punch from the Bundle. For the smaller leaves, these are fussy cut. They are fairly easy to cut out as they are an almost heart shape.

All of the leaves are then stuck to the project either directly or raised up on Dimensionals.

A sentiment from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set sits across the leaves.

Finally, some Rustic Metallic Dots are added for a little touch of bling.

I think this project will look great in other colour shades too, such as browns or blues.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Oceanfront Stamp Set

For last week’s Card & Cuppa project, I once again CASEd this previous project of mine.

This was the first time the attendees had the chance to use this stamp set so I made sure every stamp in the set was used!

As this stamp set is from the DistINKtive range, the images have much more depth and help to create the realistic view.

A Mint Macaron sky with Balmy Blue water and Crumb Cake shore creates the background.

Next, Old Olive grasses and Early Espresso reeds are added. These sit behind Gray Granite rocks which are fussy cut and given dimensions using Dimensionals.

For this card, I chose to use Thinking of You as it was a lovely serene scene.

The sentiment is from the very useful Go To Greetings Stamp Set.

Again, this is cut out and stuck to the project using Dimensionals.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Layered Stripes Background Stamp

For last week’s Card & Cuppa project, I used the Layered Stripes Background Stamp from the Jan-Apr Mini Catalogue.

This abstract design is a great project for anyone and for any occasion.

I chose Coastal Cabana and Pacific Point from the Brights Collection, along with Very Vanilla.

Using the Stamparatus, the image from the Layered Stripes Stamp Set is stamped in Pacific Point.

Next, various shapes are cut out using the All That Dies.

A length of coordinating twine from the Three Twine Combo Pack is tied at both ends and made into a swoosh. The ends are then frayed and cut to length as needed.

The shapes are layered together with the twine and a sentiment from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set.

Finally, some Classic Matte Dots in Very Vanilla are added to the card.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Two-Tone Flora Bundle

Last week’s Card & Cuppa design used another new Bundle from the January-April Mini Catalogue.

The Two Tone Flora Bundle is a Stamp Set and Dies Bundle with lots of different coordinating elements.

Once again, I saw a project in the catalogue that I just had to CASE.

For the background, I use the large die and a piece of thick cardstock to create a stencil.

Soft Sea Foam and a Small Blending Brush then allowed the pattern to be transferred.

The flowers are stamped in Pale Papaya and Pumpkin Pie, with some Wink of Stella added to the centres. Leaves are in Soft Succulent.

Using the dies, the flowers and leaves are cut out.

A sentiment from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set is stamped in Evening Evergreen for a darker shade.

All of the pieces are then layered together using a mix of glue and Dimensionals.

Some Blue Pastel Pearls are then coloured using a Stampin’ Blend in Soft Succulent, to coordinate with the rest of the project, before being added as a finishing touch.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Go To Greetings

For last week’s Card & Cuppa project, we had reached ‘G’.

The Go To Greetings Stamp Set was the product of choice with this design. I’ve had this idea in my head for this stamp set for a while.

My colour combination was a autumnal one of Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze. I also wanted this project to have a more masculine feel.

Using each of the different versions of the same sentiment, the background was created.

Next, the required sentiment was stamped onto a separate sheet.

Some of the Glitter Washi Tape in coordinating Old Olive was popped behind. This product is on the Last Chance Products list as it is retiring from the July-December Mini Catalogue, so make sure you grab it while you can.

Finally, the sentiment was stuck on top and the overhanging pieces were cut away.

There are some other sentiments in this stamp set that also work with this design. It’s a quick and easy project to make and can be recreated using different colours, sentiments and embellishments.

Finishing Up Friday – Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set & Dies

This week’s Finishing Up Friday uses leftover items from an online Stampin’ Up! training event from earlier in the year.

At the training event, we were crafting with the Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set and Splendid Stems Dies and creating projects together. So the leaves on this project were in my ‘use me’ pile.

The colour combination is Soft Sea Foam, Calypso Coral and Basic White. All of the stamping is in Black using Tuxedo Ink.

Using a Blending Brush, I have created a colour flare in the background with Soft Sea Foam Ink.

Next, the leaves are layered together.
