Lots of Green Greenery

With the arrival of new products, we often forget about the items we loved before the new ones came along.

Lots of Green Greenery. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs For today’s project, I’m sharing some love for the neglected Forever Fern Stamp Set, Forever Flourishing Dies and Greenery Embossing Folder.

They are, however, mixed with new In Colors of Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen, plus Very Vanilla.

First, I used a Sponge Dauber to add a very delicate touch of colour to the Very Vanilla piece. It’s barely visible, but it makes a very subtle difference.

Then, I stamped and die cut the various leaves. These were in a variety of first and second generation stamping. Be sure to check out my Top Tips video if you’re not sure what that means.

After I’d stuck the leaves down, I embossed a piece of Soft Succulent. This was stuck over the edges of the leaves, leaving a thin strip of Very Vanilla showing.

For the sentiment, the Many Messages Stamp Set and coordinating Messages Die were a perfect fit.

It sits on a length of Evening Evergreen Chevron Weave Ribbon for a finishing touch.

I really love this project and think it would look great in a variety of different colours. Blues and purples spring to mind.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Embossed Circles

For last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project, I made a non-stamping version of a recent project.

As you can see, this version uses embossed circles and die-cut leaves.

Pumpkin Pie, Poppy Parade, Blushing Bride and Early Espresso, along with Very Vanilla are once again my colour combination.

Sponge daubers and ink create a vintage look across the Very Vanilla cardstock. The attendees were free to use Sponge Daubers and their own inks for this. They also provided a sentiment of their choice.

Forever Flourishing Dies provide the Pumpkin Pie leaves as the first part of the various layers.

Next, the three embossed circles are stuck down. These have been given texture using the Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folders and Greenery Embossing Folders.

The sentiment, mine is from the Blossoms in Bloom Stamp Set, then has a strip of Scallop Lace Trim stuck to the back of it.

Using Mini Dimensionals, the sentiment is raised off the project.

Finally, three Champagne Rhinestones add some bling. They co-ordinate really well with the colours of the card.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Forever Greenery

For last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project, I chose to use the fabulous Forever Greenery Suite (again!) from the Annual Catalogue

My colours are from the Forever Greenery DSP. The greens of Pretty Peacock, Shaded Spruce, Just Jade, Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz and Soft Sea Foam all combine with Whisper White.

Using one of the Greenery Embossing Folders, Whisper White leaves create a pretty background. A strip of the DSP on each side then creates a border.

The leaves are cut in the various greens using the Forever Flourishing Dies from the Forever Greenery Suite.

Lengths of the reversible ribbon, with the co-ordinating Pretty Peacock side facing out are then added. This ribbon isn’t from the Suite, but it works beautifully with the project.

Finally, a die cut shape from the Tasteful Labels Dies with a sentiment from the Many Mates Stamp Set is placed on top. The sentiment is in Just Jade ink to co-ordinate with one of the colours.

Finally, three Champagne Rhinestones are arranged to finish the project.

This is a great generic project, suitable for anyone. The sentiment can be anything you like and any shape too, not just a circle.

I’m really enjoying using this suite and may have to remove it from my desk to give other products a look in!

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Forever Greenery Suite

For last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project, I decided to use products from the new Forever Greenery Suite. This is a new suite that went live in the Annual Catalogue on 3rd June.

It uses the Forever Flourishing Dies and one of the two Greenery Embossing Folders. Along with these items, there is a fabulous stamp set, DSP and some pretty embellishments in the Suite too.

My colour combination is an assortment of greens – Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow, Shaded Spruce and Old Olive. I combined these with Very Vanilla and Cinnamon Cider from the new ‘In Color’ Collection.

After attaching the embossed piece with Tear & Tape, the strip of In Color Ribbon was added across the project.

Next, the leaves were glued to a ‘helper’ piece in Pear Pizzazz. My helper piece was a piece of cardstock, cut using the Classic Label Punch in Pear Pizzazz. You could use an offcut or any other shape, just make sure it’s in the same colour.

Once all of the leaves were attached, the helper piece was trimmed down. As it’s the same colour as the piece behind, you don’t need to trim it down as it should be sufficiently hidden.

The leaves were then attached to the embossed section using Mini Dimensionals.

I love the simplicity of this project to make, but it looks very stylish. This is a great project for all occasions and you could add a sentiment of your choice. I think it would look really good in other colours, maybe in shades of blues or purples.
