Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Of Art & Texture in Pinks and Purples

Last week’s Card & Cuppa was the final one before we start making Christmas cards.

I chose a colour scheme and design that was far from festive!

My colour combination was picked from the new Color Coach, part of the Online Exclusives range. It uses analogous colours, colours that are next to each other on the colour wheel.

The colours were Melon Mambo, Berry Burst, Fresh Freesia and Bubble Bath. I also added the In Color of Pretty in Pink along with Very Vanilla.

Using the Of Art & Texture Stamp Set, also from the Online Exclusives range, the various images were stamped in the colours.

A Blending Brush and Pretty in Pink ink were then used to add some additional colour around the edges for a slightly grungey feel.

Coordinating Baker’s Twine in Very Vanilla from the Essentials Combo Pack was used across the project with a frayed knot at the join.

The Heartfelt Hexagon Stamp Set and Punch provided the outline for the sentiment, with the Simply Said Stamp Set providing the words. This sentiment piece was raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, Melon Mambo Glossy Dots were added for a touch of bling.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Textured Timber Stamp Set

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project used another new product from the Online Exclusives range, the Textured Timber Stamp Set.

To make this card more neutral and suitable for anyone, I chose a colour combination of Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow and Very Vanilla. Old Olive and Garden Green are also used for some of the leaves.

First, the trunk is stamped down the side, along with some second generation ‘splats’ from the Layering Leaves Stamp Set.

On another piece of cardstock, the stump piece is stamped and then cut out by hand.

Both the trunk and stump section were given a touch more life using the brush end of the Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend. By using it on the knots and following along some of the lines, it makes the pieces more realistic.

Leaves, again from the Layering Leaves Stamp Set were stamped onto Mossy Meadow, Garden Green and Old Olive cardstock and punched out.

These were then layered under and through the stump piece.

A sentiment from the Heartfelt Hexagon Stamp Set was then added on top of a length of coordinating Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine, from the Essentials Pack.

This whole stump section was then raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, some Iridescent Pearls, coloured with the Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend are then added.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Pets & More Stamp Set

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project used the new Pets & More Stamp Set from the Online Exclusives range.

A lot of my attendees are animal fans, particularly dogs, and they also enjoy colouring, so this project ticked both of those boxes.

My colour combination was Pecan Pie, Cajun Craze and Daffodil Delight, along with Basic White.

As the Pets & More Stamp Set is image only, a sentiment from the Heartfelt Hexagon Stamp Set was the first thing to stamp.

We then masked off the top section to allow for the bowls, paw prints and tennis balls to be stamped. This creates a ‘fake DSP’ look at the bottom of the layer.

As this stamp set is from the ‘Reversibles’ range, it gives you twice the number of stamps, with the ‘normal’ outline and a full solid image using the reverse.

The dog was stamped onto a separate piece and punched out using the 2″ Circle Punch, another item from the Online Exclusives range.

Watercolor Pencils were the used to colour the dog, with a Blender Pen to help finesse the colouring.

The dog was then layered onto 2 3/8″ Circle.

To cover the masking line, a length of Gold Trim from the Gold & Silver Trim Combo Pack is added. This is also an Online Exclusives item.

Dimensionals are then used to raise the dog up over the Trim.

Finally, the tag is given a touch of coordinating bling from the Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins.

This is a great card for the animal lover in your life.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Pretty Petal Park in Pinks

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project combined the Petal Park Stamp Set and coordinating punch with pinks.

My colour combination was Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo, with Shaded Spruce and Basic White.

For the background, the marbled image from Artistically Inked Stamp Set is stamped in second generation to create a subtle pattern.

Next, the flowers and leaves from the Petal Park Stamp Set are stamped in Flirty Flamingo and Shaded Spruce onto a separate piece of cardstock.

They are coloured using the Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen, with a touch of Wink of Stella in the centre.

These are then cut out using the Petal Park Builder Punch.

Let’s eat cake is from the Hearfelt Hexagon Stamp Set and cut out using the coordinating punch from the Bundle in the Mini Catalogue.

All of the leaves and flowers are then stuck to the background.

A length of the Petal Pink Ribbon from the Ribbon Duo Pack creates a swoosh for the sentiment to sit above on Dimensionals.

Finally, some Iridescent Rhinestones provide some bling.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – More Ladybug Builder Punch

Following on from the previous week’s Card & Cuppa project, last week’s design again used the Ladybug Builder Punch.

I wanted to show how to use the punch in different ways, so created this cute butterfly card. During lockdown, we made this flower project using the punch too.

The main colours are Coastal Cabana and Fresh Freesia, with Basic White, for a happy springtime feel. Both Basic Gray and Smoky Slate are the accent colours.

To begin, a circle was punched out of the Basic White layer using the 2″ Circle Punch from the Online Exclusives range.

Next, the flowers and leaves from the Inked & Tiled Stamp Set are added to the background. These are second generation stamping and a scrap of Grid Paper was used to mask off areas we didn’t want to stamp on.

A sentiment from the Heartfelt Hexagon Stamp Set is then stamped and punched out using the Double Oval Punch. It is given a touch of colour around the edge using a Blending Brush before being stuck to the project.

For the butterfly, a body was cut in Basic Gray and two wings in Basic White, all using the Ladybug Builder Punch.

The wings were coloured using Blending Brushes and ink, with third generation stamping in Smoky Slate using a stamp from the Timeless Arrangements Stamp Set. This created a delicate pattern on the wings.

Before attaching the wings to the body, the body was trimmed at the sides to avoid it overhanging the wings. Glue Dots were used to attach the wings to the body.

A couple of Dimensionals were used to attach the butterfly in the hole. Eyes from the Classic Matte Dots are then added.

Finally, a few Rhinestones are added for a touch of sparkle.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Ladybug Builder and Tropical Leaf Punches

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project was this colourful card.

tt uses both the Ladybug Builder and Tropical Leaf Punches, along with the coordinating Tropical Leaf Stamp Set. The sentiment is from the Hearfelt Hexagon Stamp Set, layered with the Double Oval Punch shapes.

You will find the Tropical Leaf Stamp Set and Punch Bundle in the Online Exclusives range at my Online Store.

For the background, the leaf shape was punched out and used as a mask to create the leaves in Granny Apple Green with a Blending Brush. Veins were then added in the same colour using the coordinating Stamp Set.

A flare of Lemon Lolly adds a touch of extra colour around the leaves.

Memento Ink then provides the black for the sentiment which is stamped and punched out. It’s layered together before being raised up on Dimensionals above a length of Gingham Ribbon.

For the ladybird, this is created using the Ladybug Builder Punch. By colouring Melon Mambo sequins from the Sequins Trio pack using a Stampin’ Blends Marker, the seven spots are created. The ladybird is then attached using Dimensionals.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Of Art & Texture Stamp Set

For last week’s Card & Cuppa project I used an Online Exclusives Stamp Set called Of Art & Texture.

It is based on a project I made many years ago, just using new products.

My main colours are Balmy Blue, Night of Navy and Basic White.

The background uses one of the images from the Of Art & Texture stamped multiple times. This is a Stamp Set from the Online Exclusives Range.

Tiny flowers from the Heartfelt Hexagon Stamp Set are then stamped across the background. They are then coloured using Tahitian Tide and Azure Afternoon Stampin’ Blends. Wink of Stella gives a touch of sparkle to the centre of each flower.

A sentiment from the Beautiful Balloons Stamp Set is stamped and layered using Circle Punches, also from the Online Exclusives.

This sits on a length of coordinating Night of Navy Bordered Ribbon.

Finally, a few Rhinestones complete the project.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Happy Hedgehogs without the hedgehogs!

For last week’s Card & Cuppa project I used the Happy Hedgehogs Stamp Set without the hedgehogs!

My accent colour was Sweet Sorbet and I paired it with Basic White. The stamping was all in Basic Gray.

For the tree, I used the shrub image from the Happy Hedgehogs Stamp Set and stamped it twice to create extra height. The bottom was stamped first, with the top section of the image masked, followed by stamping the top piece.

Additional grass was then added to the bottom, along with a butterfly.

As you can see, there is not a hedgehog in sight! I used other images from the set to create the design.

All of the images were coloured using the Watercolor Pencil packs 1 and 2.

A sentiment from the Heartfelt Hexagon Stamp Set is cut out and layered using both shapes cut from the Double Oval Punch.

This sits on top of lengths of coordinating Baker’s Twine using Dimensionals.

Finally, some small Iridiescent Pearls sit in the centre of each flower.

I like this design as it is a great any occasion card.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Masterfully Made DSP

Last week’s Card & Cuppa used the beautiful Masterfully Made DSP to create this any occasion card.

This gorgeous DSP was the star of the show.

A coordinating Lost Lagoon base card and Basic White layer showed off the DSP really well.

Using the Double Oval Punch, the shape for the sentiment was cut out, then stamped with the ‘for you’ from the Heartfelt Hexagon Stamp Set. This was in Melon Mambo, another coordinating colour from the DSP pack.

There isn’t a Melon Mambo Baker’s Twine, so we created our own using the White from the Essentials Baker’s Twine and colouring it using a Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blend.

This then sits behind the sentiment in a swoosh, with the sentiment raised up on Dimensionals.

It was a really quick and easy project and is a great one if you have a stash of DSP.

You can also add embellishments, Wink of Stella and more as you would like, depending on the DSP and the occasion.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Heartfelt Hexagons Bundle

At last week’s Card & Cuppa, I designed a project using the early release Heartfelt Hexagons Bundle.

This discounted bundle contains the Heartfelt Hexagons Stamp Set and coordinating Heartfelt Hexagons Punch.

Those of you who have been around a while will recognise it as a similar design to this previous project.

Using a colour combination of Parakeet Party, Garden Green and Granny Apple Green, 3 hexagons were punched in each colour.

Splats were added to some of the hexagons using the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set to create a touch of extra interest.

Next, the dotted hexagon outline image from the stamp set was stamped in Parakeet Party. I’m not sure that it shows us properly in the pictures, but it is there!

Then, the sentiment was stamped inside and punched out.

Each of the hexagons was then arranged with a small gap on the piece of Basic White. I think this was the hardest part as you only need 8 of the 9 punched pieces, and deciding which piece goes where can be a struggle.

All of the green pieces were then stuck down, with the overhanging pieces cut away.

A length of coordinating Metallic Woven Ribbon was then added across the centre of where the sentiment would sit.

Finally, the sentiment was raised up over the ribbon using Dimensionals.

I’m a big fan of these types of projects that use the same shape multiple times as they come together really quickly and easily. I have a plan to make some red and green ones for Christmas cards.
