Wedding Congratulations

Here is the card I made some friends for their recent wedding.

As I helped design and make their wedding stationery, I knew their colour scheme, so wanted to match it.

We have Fresh Freesia, Gray Granite and Basic White.

They liked the Gray Granite as it was on this card I made them for their engagement.

There were lots of hearts on their stationery, so I have stuck with that theme, but used different products.

To begin with, I chose to design a square card.

I used Blending Brushes to create a masked strip down the centre of the background piece, with the colours joining together, as they are in marriage.

Across the card, I then stamped some tiny hearts in Versamark with an image from the Penguin Place Stamp Set. I embossed these using Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.

You can’t see the hearts very well in the pictures, but you can see them in the right light.

For the hearts, I die cut shapes using the Artisan Additions Dies and stuck these onto matching cardstock. The hearts were then cut out using the Heart Punch Pack.

These were raised up on Dimensionals.

A simple sentiment sits across the bottom, similar to their thank you card design.

Finally, a few of the pretty Heart Pearls add some more hearts to the card.

Mixed Media with Painted Poppies for a Big Birthday

One of my Card & Cuppa attendees recently celebrated a big birthday, so naturally I had to make them a card.

They are a fan of mixed media and love poppies too, so I decided to combine these loves, it was a big birthday after all!

My main colour palette was Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand and Very Vanilla, with Pear Pizzazz for the leaves.

First, I stamped the background with an image from Gallery Grunge using Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. This created resist areas for when I used a Sponge Dauber over the top to add colour.

A combination of shapes and images and stamped and cut out using the Painted Poppies Stamp Set and the matching Painted Labels Dies. I can’t believe quite how much I’m using this fabulous Bundle from the Mini Catalogue.

For the sentiments, I used the Well Said Stamp Set and Well Written Dies. This is another one of those stamp and die combinations that I use quite regularly as they are really versatile.

The Classic Label Punch cut out the smaller part of the sentiment.

The length of ribbon is the Woven Threads Trim, again in Sahara Sand. I cut the bottom edge off to create the fringe.

Before I stuck everything together, I covered the ‘happy’ and the centre of the poppies with Wink of Stella. I love how Sahara Sand goes an almost gold colour under it.

Garage Gears for Dad

I know it was a few weekends ago, but for Father’s Day I made this card using the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set and co-ordinating Garage Gears Dies.

It’s one of those stamp sets that I saw in the previous catalogue and wasn’t sure about. But when I found out it was carrying over, I took the plunge and purchased the bundle.

My main colours are Sahara Sand, Night of Navy and Balmy Blue for the layers and stamping.

I then went to town with the colouring of the cogs as they were Sahara Sand to begin with!

Sponge Daubers, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze made the rusty look.

Once I was happy, I ran a Versamark Inkpad over the top, not worrying if I missed bits. I then sprinkled Clear Embossing Powder over it set with a Heat Tool.

The finishing touch was the circle cut using the Stitched Shapes Dies and a strip of Copper Trim. I was pleased at how close to the colour of the trim I had manage to make my cogs.

With a change of sentiment, of which there are several in the Stamp Set, it would be great for any occasion.

I’m pleased to say that both recipients were extremely happy with their cards.

Swirly Bird Wedding Bouquet

As this card has been handed over, I can now share this Swirly Bird wedding bouquet with you.

A lovely lady in Cyprus had a sneaky wedding, and as I was visiting, I just had to make her and her new husband a card.

The circles are from the Swirly Bird Stamp Set stamped in Versamark. They are then heat embossed using Clear Powder to create a shine.

I saw a picture of her bouquet so used the colours as my inspiration. They are Grapefruit Grove, Calypso Coral and Shimmery White.

For the stems, I used the balloon strings from Balloon Celebration and cut round them.

The Detailed Trio Punch creates rounded corners to mirror the circles.

A bow in co-ordinating Grapefruit Grove ribbon finishes the project.

Colorful Seasons Birthday

Last week a good friend celebrated her Birthday.

This friend is a fan of Stampin’ Up! and the colour purple mixed with Crumb Cake.

Using these colours as my guide and the fact that they are a fan of the Colorful Seasons Bundle, here is the card I made.

It’s a great autumnal card using the emboss resist technique.

To begin with I heat embossed the stamped leaves with clear embossing powder onto the Glossy Card.

Then, using sponge daubers, Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist and Pumpkin Pie I created this one-off background. The Glossy Card allows the ink to blend really well into each other and the embossing resists the ink.

The sentiment is from the Number of Years Stamp Set. It has a punched gold circle behind it and a strip of co-ordinating Gold Ribbon too. All of this is set onto a Crumb Cake basecard.

Finally the die cut leaves were coated in Wink of Stella for a bit of bling and attached with those everso handy Mini Dimensionals.

I’m not sure that you can see the Wink of Stella leave very well, but I can assure you they were very sparkly!

Copper Birthday Blooms

A good friend celebrated her Birthday last week.

She’s a fan of heat embossing so I decided to combine this with a vintage look.

The background uses Crumb Cake tone on tone stamping using the Touches of Texture Stamp Set.

I then stamped the flower from Birthday Blooms with Versamark and heat embossed with Copper Embossing Powder. Next I cut out the flower by hand, I’m not going to lie, it took ages!

A strip of the beautiful Lace Trim and loops of Copper Metallic Thread were then added. You can’t see the thread very well in this picture but it’s definitely there!

Finally, I attached the flower using Dimensionals. As I wanted the flower to be the star of the project I didn’t add a sentiment.

Sending Positive Thoughts – Good Things Are Going to Happen

A lovely lady I know is going through a bit of tough time at the moment. So, I decided to send her a hug in an envelope via a card.

Stampin' Up! You've Got This

I chose the fabulous ‘Good Things Are Going to Happen’ sentiment as it said what I wanted to say. The stamp set is You’ve Got This.

To begin with I stamped onto Shimmery White Cardstock in Whisper White Ink. Next I heat embossed the image with Clear Embosing Powder.

Watercolor Pencils were my colouring tools of choice along with Aqua Painters to give a soft and pretty coloured flower. Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive were the colours I used to co-ordinate throughout this project.

For the finishing touches I looped Old Olive Baker’s Twine around the project. Finally I used the Pretty Label Punch to cut the sentiment and layer and added some Metallic Shapes for some sparkle.
