Countdown to Christmas 2022 – Week 8

These holly leaves in sepia tones are the project for week 8 in this year’s Countdown to Christmas series.

Like last week, I chose to use non-traditional colours. This week, my colour combination is sepia tones with Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.

It’s a very simple design and is great for mass production, or if you need a last minute card.

A background of holly leaves from the Leaves of Holly Stamp Set is stamped. Then, the sentiment, more leaves and the berries are stamped onto a separate sheet of Very Vanilla.

These are all cut out using the coordinating Holly Berries Dies.

The die cut leaves and berries are given a frosty feel with some Wink of Stella.

All of the pieces are then stuck together and attached to the project as one piece using Dimensionals.

Countdown to Christmas 2022 – Week 5

Week 5 of this year’s Countdown to Christmas series is also October’s Christmas Card Club project.

For this project, I used the Leaves of Holly Bundle (Leaves of Holly Stamp Set & Holly Berry Dies), along with Textural Elements. All of these items are from the Boughs of Holly Suite Collection and can be found in the July-December Mini Catalogue.

Unsurprisingly, I chose a traditional Christmas colour combination of Garden Green, Old Olive, Real Red, Poppy Parade, Soft Suede and Basic White.

All of the items were cut out using the Holly Berry Dies and the sentiment stamped with the Leaves of Holly Stamp Set.

Wink of Stella was added to the berries on the Textural Element to add a touch of sparkle.

Each piece is arranged, layered and then stuck to the project. Ensuring the glue is strategically placed where it will be hidden by the sentiment.

To add some extra strength, I stuck the Textural Element down with Glue Dots. They fit nicely behind the berry sections.

The sentiment is then added using Dimesionals, before the die-cut berries are layered together and added to the corner.

Finally a few Festive Pearls are dotted across the project.

This project is a very traditional Christmas card, but you don’t have to use these colours. Why not mix things up a bit?

Finishing Up Friday – Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set & Dies

This week’s Finishing Up Friday uses leftover items from an online Stampin’ Up! training event from earlier in the year.

At the training event, we were crafting with the Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set and Splendid Stems Dies and creating projects together. So the leaves on this project were in my ‘use me’ pile.

The colour combination is Soft Sea Foam, Calypso Coral and Basic White. All of the stamping is in Black using Tuxedo Ink.

Using a Blending Brush, I have created a colour flare in the background with Soft Sea Foam Ink.

Next, the leaves are layered together.

A length of coordinating Seam Binding Ribbon sits across the project.

My sentiment is from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set and cut out using a shape from the Holly Berry Dies.

More Seam Binding Ribbon creates some loops on either side of the sentiment.

The sentiment is then raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, some Fine Sparkle Adhesive Backed Gems in Calypso Coral are dotted across the project.

Countdown to Christmas 2022 – Week 2

For this week’s Countdown to Christmas 2022, I’ve taken inspiration from a project in the July-December Mini Catalogue.

This card uses items from the Boughs of Holly Suite Collection.

The background is from the Boughs of Holly DSP. Shaded Spruce and Sahara Sand were taken from the colours in the DSP

Holly leaves are then stamped in Shaded Spruce using the Two-Step Stamps in the Leaves of Holly Stamp Set. They are then cut out using the coordinating Holly Berry Dies from the Suite Collection, along with a skeleton leaf cut in Sahara Sand.

These are layered onto the background.
