As last week’s Card & Cuppa was a repeat of a previous design, I’m showing you a project from last week’s Stamp-a-Stack Class. It uses my current favourite FREE SAB Stamp Set, So Hoppy Together.

The pond background is from the Waterfront Stamp Set, with the lily pad made using the Layering Ovals Framelits.

For the frog, this fun fellow is stamped in Basic Gray and coloured using Stampin’ Blends. He’s cut out by hand, but you could use the newly released co-ordinating Framelits.

The finishing touch is the cute flies that are added in a wavy line above the frog. They are again coloured using Stampin’ Blends.

Petal Palette Thank You

Today I’m sharing this pretty Petal Palette Thank You card with you. I gave this card to the lovely Guest Relations Manager on our recent holiday.

It’s no secret I adore the Petal Palette Stamp Set and tend to use it quite a lot in my projects.

For this project, I’ve teamed Mint Macaron with Blushing Bride for soft tones.

Ovals are cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits and are sitting on a length of Linen Thread.

Finally, adding a few pearls in the centre of the flowers makes them stand out.

This is a really quick and simple project that can be replicated in many different ways. My mind is full of the various colour combinations I could recreate this design with.

Introducing Call Me Clover – with ovals

Here is the penultimate project from my In Color Introduction Class. It’s for Call Me Clover, a lovely green.

I decided to use a design from a different project and change a little bit. I do this a lot and it’s a great tip. Just find a design layout you like and change bits each time, colour, sentiment, stamp set etc.

The colours for that are co-ordinating with Call Me Clover are Mint Macaron and Crushed Curry.

Layering Ovals Framelits create the different cut outs and the corners rounded using the amazing Detailed Trio Punch. I think I may have already mentioned how pleased I am that we have a corner rounder again!

By raising the sentiment on one side using Dimensionals and attaching with SNAIL on the other, it ensures it isn’t too bulky for the post.

Finishing touches are Wink of Stella on the background flowers and Pearls on the centre of the main flowers.

Animal Outing Anniversary

Yesterday we celebrated our 19th Wedding Anniversary. I used the perfect stamp set called Animal Outing to create this card.

This new stamp set has a frog which of course is my part of HIPPOFROG.

Due to the lack of a hippo in this stamp set, I’ve chosen the giraffe instead. As my husband is 6’6″ it’s quite appropriate. Plus, there were jokes at our wedding about me needing to stand on a milk crate (and I’m quite tall!)

Also, our wedding reception was at the local safari park, so an animal card ticks all the boxes.

I’ve stamped using the new Gray Granite inkpad and coloured using Watercolor Pencils. I also decided to use a Blender Pen to soften the colouring but had to take care not to smudge the ink as it it is waterbased.

The Lemon Lime twist background has more leaves stamped on it – taking care not to stamp the frog again. When it came to the sentiment I used the Classic Label Punch to create the banner pieces and layered the whole piece onto Baker’s Twine.

By using the Layering Ovals Framelits, the focus is on the foreground pair.

As I didn’t need a post-friendly card, I’ve used Dimensionals for most of the layers to create depth.

Finally, Jar of Love provided me with the heart which I’ve covered with Wink of Stella.

Animal Outing has 10 stamps in the set for just £20 for Clear Mount, and I’ve used just 3 of them on this project.

Make sure you get your hands on this lovely set that is great for colouring.

This year’s frog – 2018 version!

Due to the new colours and punches in the Annual Catalogue, it’s time to introduce you to this year’s frog. The 2018 version!

It’s the same as previous years with the ovals from the Layering Ovals Framelits, with a few updates. As before, the other cut out shapes use a variety of punches.

I’ve used Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce as the frog colours. Call Me Clover and Balmy Blue make the lily pad and pond ovals.

The 1/2″, 3/4″, 1 1/2″ and 1 3/4″ Circle Punches are the main shapes. I then punched the eyes in Basic Black using the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch and they sit perfectly in the 1/2″ Whisper White circles.

It’s the Vases Builder Punch where I quickly stumbled upon the plant leaf to make the fabulous smile. The feet are made from the flower shape from this punch too. It’s great to think outside the box and use things in different ways.

Again, as I use the frog for a variety of different things, I added a ribbon so that I can attach him to bags, clipboards etc.

Maybe I’ll eventually make a hippo with some new colours to keep him company…

Seasonal Branch Just for you

At my recent Stamp-a-Stack class, this proved to be one the favourite projects of the evening.

Colorful Seasons from Stampin' Up! with HIPPOFROG Designs

It uses the Colorful Seasons Bundle of Stamp Set and Dies along with a sentiment from another set.

Inspiration for this design was Cherry Blossom. The combination of Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla and Calypso Coral make a pretty card that is suitable for any occasion.

Flowers are stamped on the background first, before attaching the die-cut branch.  Die-cut flowers are then added to the branch. Each flower is then decorated with pearls coloured with a Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend Marker.  Please note that the Stampin’ Blend Marker is currently out of stock and not available to order at this time.

A strip of the delicate lace ribbon and the sentiment are the final touches.

Celebrate your day with Bunch of Blossoms

As I was away on holiday last week there wasn’t a Card & Cuppa class. However, one of my regular Card & Cuppa attendees celebrated their birthday while I was away so I’m sharing that with you today.

This bright and cheery card uses Bunch of Blossoms and the Blossom Builder Punch to create a pretty spray of flowers in yellows and orange.

I’ve chosen Old Olive as the green and have stamped several leaves on the background to add extra depth. I used the same stamp for both the centre of the flower and the dots on the background.

The flowers are Daffodil Delight and So Saffron with Pumpkin Pie centres and cut out with the co-ordinating punch.

Using Washi Tape to mask the ‘let’s’ from the sentiment made ‘celebrate your day’, a much more appropriate greeting.

Both the Stitched Shapes Framelits and Layering Ovals Framelits are layered to create the framed piece in the centre.

A Baker’s Twine bow and Rhinestones add the finishing touches.
