Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Floral Squares Dies

My Floral Squares Dies had their first outing at last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa Class.

I chose Very Vanilla for the basecard and squares, with Soft Succulent as my background colour. Additional splashes of colour were from Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya and Polished Pink, from this year’s In Color Collection. They were joined by So Saffron.

Each square has a backing piece of Soft Succulent 6×6 DSP, to help separate them from the background.

Then, the colourful flower pieces are given a coating of Wink of Stella before they are added to each square.

My sentiment, from the Art Gallery Stamp Set has loops of ribbon at each end.

Loose Flower Flourishes in the three flower In Colors are then attached.

Finally, some Pearls are stuck to the centre of some of the flowers.

I think this project would look really great in monochrome.  I’ll add it to my list of things to try!

How much fun are these fab critters?

This Peekaboo Farm Stamp Set has 5 fabulous farm animals, a wall for the them to peek over, plus senitments and other images too.

Here I’ve used it with the new circle shapes from the Picture This Dies.

 

My main colour is Fresh Freesia, with the stamping of the coloured images in Basic Gray.

I cut my Fresh Freesia piece, plus a Basic White piece with the dies. This gives me the bits to peek through, plus the bits to stamp on.

Each image is stamped onto one of the cut out circles and is coloured using Stamping Blends. I used quite a lots of Blends for this project!

My Basic White pieces are stuck in place through circles, before the Fresh Freesia piece is raised up over them on Dimensionals.

For some added fun, I have stamped the hooves onto a separate sheet, cut these out and then stuck them overhanging the edge of the circles.

The finishing touch is some Loose Flower Flourishes on the head of the pig, and around the sentiment.

I can’t wait to use the other stamps in this set, and the other dies too.

A Birthday Biggest Wish

Yesterday, my Annual Catalogue order arrived and in the big box were a few new items.

This Birthday card uses some of these new products.

My colour combination is three of the new In Colors of Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya and Polished Pink. They work really well together with Basic White.

I’ve used one of my stripe pattern designs to create the background. These stripe patterns are really great for using up any offcuts or for being economical with your cardstock!

The mixed In Color Cardstock pack is another great way of being more frugal with cardstock. They include a few sheets of each of the 5 colors, instead of having to purchase multiple packs.

Then, using the new Layering Diorama Dies I have cut the fabulous curvy shape.

Another new item, the Biggest Wish Stamp Set gave me the two words for the sentiment. I really like this Stamp Set as the sentiment can do a lot of the hard work for you, especially if you need a quick and easy card.

Finally, three Loose Flower Flourishes in the same In Colors are added. These don’t have any adhesive on the back, so you can attach them however you like. I chose to use Glue Dots.Biggest Wish. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

The finished project reminds me of a dessert. Perhaps I’m just hungry!
