Finishing Up Friday – A Wall of Daisies

This week’s Finishing Up Friday uses pre-made items from this previous Card & (Your) Cuppa project.

I chose a soft colour combination of Petal Pink, Crumb Cake and Basic White.

Using a Blending Brush, I began by running some Crumb Cake ink over my pre-embossed wall piece to add highlights to some of the bricks. This piece is from the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.

Next, the daisies are stuck together in pairs. I had to punch a few more of these using the Medium Daisy Punch to add to those I already had in my stash.

Then, each daisy is given a touch of colour in the centre using a Sponge Dauber, and a touch of Wink of Stella for some sparkle.

Background leaves are cut using the Bough Punch.

My sentiment is from the Sending Smiles Stamp Set and cut out using the coordinating Sending Dies. These are available as a Bundle in the Annual Catalogue.

Finally coordinating embellishments from the Elegant Faceted Gems pack provides a touch more sparkle.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Delicate Daisies and FREE SAB Cards & Envelopes

For last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project, I created this project that used the FREE SAB Cards & Envelopes for the basecard.

The project takes inspiration from the design on Page 56 of the Annual Catalogue.

Rather than creating a basecard as I normally do, I chose to use the FREE SAB Cards & Envelopes instead. These basecards are pre-printed with a delicate leaf pattern and also come with matching envelopes.

Using the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder for my background, this was cut down to size. It was then given some colour using a Sponge Dauber and Crumb Cake ink.

Blushing Bride Daisies cut using the Medium Daisy Punch were then created by again using a Sponge Dauber to add colour to the centres, and then gluing two together.

Lengths of the gorgeous Natural Finish Ribbon were stuck the wall piece before the daisies and leaves, cut using the Bough Punch in Mint Macaron and Crumb Cake were added.

A sentiment from the Art Gallery Stamp Set has Linen Thread looped behind and is then stuck to the project.

Finally, some of the new Festive Pearls from the July-December Mini Catalogue are added. These 3mm Pearls come in a pack of 200 with 50 each of Cherry Cobbler, Soft Succulent, Silver and Gold. Gold are the ones I chose to use on this project.

Daffodil Delight Daisy and Stripes

As you know, I love making projects with stripes.

For this Birthday Card I chose to use Basic Black and Basic White, with accents of Daffodil Delight to add a fun splash of colour.

First, the sentiment from the Art Gallery Stamp Set is stamped. It is stamped first as if there are any ‘oops’ moments, the cardstock can be turned over for another go.

The black and white stripes are laid down in an alternating pattern to create a chevron effect.

Next, a length of the Black & White Gingham Ribbon sits at the bottom of the chevrons.

Daisies are cut using the Medium Daisy Punch and given a highlight of colour in the centre and tips of petals using Sponge Daubers.

Leaves are cut from Daffodil Delight using the Bough Punch.

These pieces are assembled together and stuck to the project.

Finally, some coordinating Glossy Dots, new in the Annual Catalogue are added for a touch of shine.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Heart & Home DSP

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project was a version of a recent project.

As my ZOOM classes don’t include stamped images, this version has shapes instead cut from the Medium Daisy Punch.

Misty Moonlight is the main colour on the piece of Heart & Home DSP, so I’ve used the colour for the rest of the project.

The strip of DSP has the join covered by a length of the White Frayed Ribbon and the coordinating Denim Ribbon.

Using a Sponge Dauber, the centres of the daisies are coloured and layered together. These are then scrunched to create texture and more colour is then added.

Next, they are stuck to a Doily, also from the Mini Catalogue.

This doily is raised up over the ribbon using Dimensionals and a sentiment from the Art Gallery Stamp Set is stuck to the edge.

Finally, some Classic Matte Dots are added to complete the project.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Grunge and Daisies

I was asked for a grunge project, so last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project complied.

The colour combination is Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and VeryVanilla, with Real Red for a of colour.

To start, the edges of the Soft Suede layer are distressed using an emery board, then inked in Crumb Cake with a Sponge Dauber.

Next, the Very Vanilla layer is scrunched several times. This is also then inked, distressed with an emery board, and inked again.

The layers are stuck to the project at an angle, only sticking in the middle to allow the edges to curl.

For the daisies, cut from the Daisy Punch and Medium Daisy Punch, these are inked on both sides using a Sponge Dauber. By pressing in the middle, it gives a darker effect in the centre, then lightly adding a touch of Crumb Cake along the petals.

The daisies are then scrunched several times to allow the fibres to soften. Then the cardstock is very carefully split into two. These are inked with Real Red to give a touch of colour, before sticking the two pieces of each daisy together. They are now have a really delicate feel.

Leaves from the Tulip Builder Punch are also scrunched and inked around the edges. A small dragonfly is cut from the Dragonflies Punch.

Everything is then assembled on the project.

My sentiment is from the Strong of Heart Stamp Set, on the current Last Chance List. It sits on a piece of Scalloped Lace Trim and looped piece of Baker’s Twine.

Finally, a few Champagne Rhinestones are dotted around for a little bit of sparkle.

It’s Your Time to Shine

This very pink project is for a friend who is a big fan of the colour.

They have had some good things happen to them recently, so I wanted to send them a positive card.

It uses the new In Color of Polished Pink, with Basic White.

I’ve based my project on the picture on Page 152 of the Annual Catalogue.

The background is a piece of the Expressions in Ink DSP. A cut out from the Picture This Dies provides the layer above.

Daisies from the Daisy Lane Stamp Set are stamped and then cut out using the Medium Daisy Punch.

These have some Wink of Stella put in the centres and are layered together, then placed over the cut outs.

Edges of the sentiment are shaped using the Banners Pick a Punch before it is attached using Mini Dimensionals.

It's Your Time to Shine. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs A bow made from coordinating In Color Ribbon is stuck beneath the sentiment with a Glue Dot.

Finally, a few In Color Jewels are dotted around the project for a finishing touch.

Beauty and Daisies

These pretty monochrome daisies sit on a fabulous background of DSP.

The background DSP is stamped with the Beauty of Friendship and Daisy Lane Stamp Sets in Misty Moonlight. Don’t be afraid to stamp onto your DSP, it creates some great effects.

Various generations of stamping have been used for the smaller ‘splat’ type images at the top. Check out this week’s YouTube Video on what generational stamping is all about.

Using the Medium Daisy Punch, the daisies are cut out and layered after stamping. They are then lightly coated with Wink of Stella for some subtle sparkle.

For the sentiment, I used the Beauty of Friendship Stamp Set and the coordinating Beautiful Trees Dies for the shape.

A length of coordinating Baker’s Twine from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack is finished with a bow.

Finally, some Metallic Pearls are dotted around to pick out the silver in the Baker’s Twine.

Hybrid Daisies

For today’s project, I sharing these hybrid daisies with you.

These are a hybrid of the Flowers of Friendship Stamp Set for the stems and leaves, with the Medium Daisy Punch creating the flowers.

As the daisies cover the flowers in the stamped image, you wouldn’t know they were there.

A colour combination of Daffodil Delight, Just Jade and Basic White give this project a fresh summery feel.

Using a Blender Pen, the leaves are given a soft hint of colour.

Next, a strip of Just Jade Ribbon from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack lays down one side. A strip of Daffodil Delight stamped tone-on-tone sits on top.

This is topped with a sentiment from the Stamp Set and cut out using the Label Me Fancy Punch.

For the daisies, two shapes are layered and given a yellow centre using a Sponge Dauber.

Finally, after these are attached, the centres have a touch of sparkle using sequins from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Spring Daisies

For last week’s Card & Cuppa I wanted to celebrate the arrival of Spring with these fresh spring daisies.

My daisies are different shades of yellow, So Saffron, Daffodil Delight and Bumblebee onto Pear Pizzazz and Soft Sea Foam greens.

I’ve added some extra texture to the Pear Pizzazz piece by scoring lines using my Metric Plate on my Simply Scored tool. Spring Daisies. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs A piece of my favourite (and thankfully not retiring!) Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon makes a pretty bow.

Each daisy has some Wink of Stella in the middle, before the the Opal Rounds are added.

My project is currently left blank, so is perfect for any occasion. You can easily add a sentiment to tailor it as needed.

Fabulous Florals on World Cardmaking Day

Happy World Cardmaking Day.

Today I’m sharing another project from my Fabulous Florals Class. This is a quick and easy project to make on World Cardmaking Day.

As it’s a monochrome project, it is easy to replicate in your own colours. You can also use any punch shape you have to hand.

My colours are Coastal Cabana and Whisper White. I chose Coastal Cabana as it co-ordinates with the strip of Playing with Patterns DSP across the card.

This DSP pack is one of the packs in the current 15% off DSP Sale running throughout October.

Medium Daisy Punch shapes are stuck onto the DSP strip, with any overhanging pieces cut off and stuck into the gaps.

The DSP strip is then stuck onto the Whisper White layer.

A cross of co-ordinating ribbon from the Playing with Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack is topped with a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set in Coastal Cabana ink.
