Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Abstract in In Color

For last week’s Card & Cuppa I designed an abstract project using the new 2023-2025 In Colors.

A combination of stamps from the Oceanfront Stamp Set, Quiet Meadow Stamp Set and the Inked & Tiled Stamp Set provided the background stamping in the various new colours. The whole project is sits on a Thick Very Vanilla base card.

Next, a length of In Color Textured Ribbon was added, followed by a length of the coordinating Jute Trim. This was split and tied in a knot before being placed on top of the ribbon. Splitting the Jute Trim creates the wavy effect.

Shapes cut from the Stylish Shapes Dies and the Tailor Made Tags Dies were arranged on top of the background, with the large square left until last.

The sentiment is from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set and cut in two before being stuck to the Copper Clay Square. This whole piece is given more depth using Dimensionals.

In Color Dots, also in the same Moody Mauve as the layer, ribbon and twine add the finishing touch.

This is a great design for anyone and particularly handy for those teen or masculine projects. It can be changed to use any colours and shapes too.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Oceanfront Stamp Set

For last week’s Card & Cuppa project, I once again CASEd this previous project of mine.

This was the first time the attendees had the chance to use this stamp set so I made sure every stamp in the set was used!

As this stamp set is from the DistINKtive range, the images have much more depth and help to create the realistic view.

A Mint Macaron sky with Balmy Blue water and Crumb Cake shore creates the background.

Next, Old Olive grasses and Early Espresso reeds are added. These sit behind Gray Granite rocks which are fussy cut and given dimensions using Dimensionals.

For this card, I chose to use Thinking of You as it was a lovely serene scene.

The sentiment is from the very useful Go To Greetings Stamp Set.

Again, this is cut out and stuck to the project using Dimensionals.

Countdown to Christmas 2022 – Week 6

This week’s Countdown to Christmas 2022 project uses non-Christmas products.

The Oceanfront Stamp Set, Bough Punch and Decorative Circle Punch combine to create this fun mistletoe project.

My colour combination is Tahitian Tide, Granny Apple Green and Basic White, with a hint of Sweet Sorbet.

Using a similar technique to this previous project, I made a stamped strip to look like a wintry snowy scene.

A shape cut from the Decorative Circle Punch then sits in the centre of the project.

A shape from the Bough Punch is cut multiple times, and then stuck together at the top to create the mistletoe.

Next, a length of Sweet Sorbet Baker’s Twine is wrapped around the stems and tied in a bow to help join them together.

The mistletoe is then stuck to the central shape.

Finally, some Pearls are added as ‘berries’.

As I wasn’t using festive stamp sets for this project, I have deliberately left the card sentiment free.

Oceanfront Birthday

Can you imagine yourself sat here? It looks very relaxing.

I was using a few stamp sets creating backgrounds for future projects. After creating this one, I had a project in my mind that I just had to finish.

The project is made using the Oceanfront Stamp Set. By stamping the same image multiple times in Balmy Blue, the strip across the middle is created.

On top of the central strip, tiny ‘splats’ are then added, again in Balmy Blue.

For the sentiment, the shape is cut using the Decorative Circle Punch. Then grasses are stamped in different generations of Old Olive.

Next, ‘Happy Birthday’ from the Lovely & Lasting Stamp Set is stamped to one side.

The rocks are then stamped in Sahara Sand on a separate piece of Basic White cardstock and fussy cut.

A length of Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack is looped behind, and the sentiment piece, along with the rocks are raised up on Dimensionals.

I think I’ll be making a few more backgrounds in different colours with this stamp set.

Beautiful Scenes with the Oceanfront Stamp Set

This fabulous card, made using the Oceanfront Stamp Set is inspired by the Mini Catalogue.

I saw the project on page 39 and set about recreating it, with a HIPPOFROG Designs twist of course!

My colour combination is Crumb Cake and Balmy Blue, for the rocks, shore and sea. Then, I’ve used stamped off Pale Papaya and So Saffron for the sky.

The grasses are Garden Green and Early Espresso. All onto a Basic White background.

As per the Mini Catalogue, I have fussy cut the rocks and these are raised up on Dimensionals to give some depth.

For the sentiment, I chose ‘Happy Birthday’ from the Art Gallery Stamp Set. This is set on top of loops of coordinating Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack,.

I think the loops look like the sun, so I added some very subtle tone on tone ray/reflection stamping down the page, using the splatter stamp. Oceanfront Stamp Set. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

I’m really pleased with how this project turned out and have many more ideas running through my head on what I can do with this pretty Oceanfront Stamp Set.
