Engagement Congratulations

When I designed this project, little did I know I would need to send Engagement congratulations to friends.

I made this slightly different version for the newly engaged couple using Whisper White and Gray Granite.

The Ornate Borders Dies are again give a subtle background. As the orientation is different, I’ve actually cut out one of the flowers in the middle to make the piece slightly shorter. You can’t see this as it is covered by the sentiment.

Gray Granite flowers are then added to the piece using Glue Dots.

A sentiment from the Well Said Stamp Set is cut out using the Tasteful Labels Dies.

This is then stuck on top using Dimensionals.

Finally, three small Rhinestones are added to the centre of each flower to give a touch of sparkle.

Fabulous Florals – Ornate Borders Dies

Here is the second project from my recent Fabulous Florals Papecrafting Class.

This card uses the Ornate Borders Dies to create a delicate effect. Perfect for a Wedding or Wedding Anniversary, or any other occasion.

Very Vanilla and Soft Sea Foam, with Gold accents are my colour scheme for this card.

The die-cut piece from the Ornate Borders Dies is stuck onto the Very Vanilla background to give a tone-on-tone effect.

Lengths of Very Vanilla Metallic-Edge Ribbon are stuck diagonally across the piece to frame the pretty die-cut.

Then, the flowers from the dies are stuck on top. These Soft Sea Foam flowers are offset slightly.

Finally, Gilded Gems are added to the centre of each flower. These gold gems co-ordinate with the ribbon to pull everything together.

Special Commission for a Birthday

During this lockdown, it’s been lovely to be asked to make cards for people. Here is a special commission for a Birthday.

It uses a combination of dies, punches and an embossing folder.

I know the recipient likes their garden, so I started with a garden wall using the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder.

Next, I used the Ornate Borders Dies in Purple Posy, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape for the flourish across the wall. This is one of the many products in the Ornate Garden Suite from the new Annual Catalogue.

To create ‘mum’, I used letters from the Well Written Dies words and put them together. This is backed by a piece of Whisper White Crinkle Seam Binding coloured with Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends.

For the butterflies, these are stamped in Melon Mambo, punches out and coloured with more Stampin’ Blends in various shades of pink.

The finishing touches are Wink of Stella and some small Pearls in the centre of the flowers.

I’m pleased to report the recipient was happy with their card.

A Special Commission with Ornate Garden Suite

A few weeks ago I was asked to make two special commissions for a Birthday.

I used the Early Release Ornate Garden Suite, and an image in the PDF flyer for the Suite was was my inspiration.

I used the Ornate Style Bundle for the daisies and the pretty frame. The daisies were coloured using Stampin’ Blends in a number of different colours. These were then cut out with the Stitched Rectangles Dies.

I used Calypso Coral as the accent colour for the rest of the stamping and cardstock.

To make the ‘Nan’ wording, I used the letters from ‘Thanks’ in the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set, cut the stamped letters out separately and stuck them together.
