Last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project continued with the autumnal theme.

It uses the Picture This Dies and the Iconic Dies.

The base card and die-cut layer are both Soft Sea Foam. Leaves are cut out in Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive, with the toadstools in Very Vanilla.

Using Sponge Daubers, the background Very Vanilla piece is given a mottled effect.

Then, the toadstools are coloured with Real Red and Crumb Cake, and the edges of the leaves with Pear Pizzazz. Again, the colouring is with Sponge Daubers.

A sentiment fom the Ornate Thanks Dies is then raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, some of the gorgeous Matte Decorative Dots are added to the project.

Silvery Simply Elegant Thanks

The pretty DSP does all the hard work for me on this project.

This is a piece of the Simply Elegant Specialty DSP. It has gold, silver and copper foil running through it.

As Smoky Slate is quite close to silver, I chose to use that for my accent pieces, along with Basic White.

Using the Hippo & Friends Dies, I used the Spotlight Technique to cut out a piece from the DSP, plus a layer piece from Smoky Slate.

A length of the coordinating Simply Elegant Trim in Silver sits across the project. This then has a triple loop bow attached with a Glue Dot.

Check out yesterday’s Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques video for a demonstration on tying multiple loop bows.

The Ornate Thanks Stamp Set provides the stamp set. This has ends shaped to mirror the die-cut pieces.

Finally, the sentiment is raised up using Mini Dimensionals.

Introduction to In Color Class – Soft Succulent

Today I’m back to sharing last week’s Introduction to In Color Class projects.

We have now reached Soft Succulent, the 4th project from the class.

I love this colour with Mint Macaron and Rich Razzleberry. Very Vanilla accents and Basic Gray stamping complete the mix.

This is a version of a previous project I have made. However, as the class was online without access to shared stamps, the kit contained die-cut and embossed shapes instead.

First, the background is given a texture using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

Next, shapes are cut using the Elegant Tag Punch, Symmetrical Stems Border Punch and the Painted Labels Dies.

A bow from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack in Very Vanilla is wrapped around the tag.

A sentiment from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set is stamped onto pieces shaped with the Treasured Tag Pick a Punch.

All of the pieces are layered together, along with a length of coordinating ribbon.

Finally, coordinating In Color Jewels are scattered across the project.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Flowering Vine Dies

Last week was the first Card & (Your) Cuppa session of 2021. It was great to be back.

Here is the project. It uses the fabulous Flowering Vine Dies. It is my version of the project on Page 62 of the new January-June Mini Catalogue.

The colour combination is Mint Macaron, So Saffron, Blushing Bride and Very Vanilla, with Just Jade Ribbon.

Two pieces of lattice effect and lots of flowers are cut out using the Flowering Vine Dies. This takes a while, but the smaller flowers can be cut in multiples of three as there are three dies for these. Each flower is then stuck onto the back of the lattice piece using either Multipurpose Glue or Fine-Tip Glue.

Then, these pieces are stuck onto the basecard, so the flowers show through.

A sentiment from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set in Basic Gray is added to another die cut shape from Flowering Vine Dies. This is stuck onto a co-ordinating So Saffron piece.

This piece is stuck over the swoosh of Just Jade Ribbon using Dimensionals.

Finally, some small pearls are added to the centre of the larger flowers.

Forever Fern to Say Thank You

This month, I’ve used Forever Fern to say Thank You to my recent customers.

I love being able to express my gratitude to those who have supported my business.

As you know, it’s one of my favourite things about my job.

For this project, my colour combination is Rococo Rose, Rich Razzleberry and Crumb Cake.

It’s a combination I have used before with Whisper White, but this time I chose Very Vanilla instead.

Just a few leaves from the Forever Fern Stamp Set, along with the splates for the background, create a soft, yet class look.

A sentiment from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set, with the edges cut using the Banners Pick a Punch.

This is stuck above a Rococo Rose punched circle shape.

Finally, some Pearls add a certain something to this classic project.

Pretty Peony Garden DSP for Customer Thank You Cards

It’s time for me to say thank you to the wonderful people who purchased products from me in September.

Not only do they receive a handmade card, with a little note from me. Those who use the Hostess Code have a little gift arrive with their card too.

This month, I used the pretty Peony Garden DSP. This DSP is one of the packs on Special Offer during October. Make sure you check out the others too.

Using some of the colours of the DSP, Petal Pink, Gray Granite and Whisper White, I had my colour combination.

Strips of the DSP are stuck to the Whisper White layer in alternate colours, with the overhang cut off.

Next a sentiment from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set in Gray Granite is cut out using the Story Label Punch.

This is then popped over a looped length of the co-ordinating Gray Granite Ribbon.

You may have noticed that I like a bit of looped ribbon behind sentiments on my projects!

Finally, using the Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends to colour some Pearls, these are dotted around the project for an extra delicate touch.

Just Wanted to Say

Have you had those moments where you ‘Just Wanted to Say…’? If so, this project is just perfect!

Using items from Ornate Garden Suite from the Annual Catalogue, a pretty daisy-themed card comes together.

Bumblebee and Old Olive for the basecard and layer co-ordinate with the colours of the Ornate Garden Specialty DSP. As this piece of DSP is quite busy, I chose something simple to go with it.

The flower from the Ornate Style Stamp Set in the Suite, stamped in Early Espresso onto Bumblebee cardstock, keeps everything co-ordinated.

Using Watercolor Pencils, I very lightly coloured the petals in Whisper White and the stem and leaf in Old Olive. For the centre of the daisy, Wink of Stella adds a bit of sparkle.

‘Just wanted to say’ is from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set. It’s one of the sentiments that you would traditionally stamp inside the card, but I like to use things in slightly different ways! I’ve trimmed each end to follow the angle of the words.

Using Dimensionals, the daisy and sentiment piece are raised up off the DSP to add some depth.

I’m really hoping the recipient likes this card.

Ornate Garden Suite in Any Direction

Yesterday I showed you a project where the DSP did all the hard work. Today I’m sharing a card that can be used in any direction, either portrait or landscape. This is another project from my Pretty Paper Stash Buster Class.

Again is used the Ornate Garden Specialty DSP, along with the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set. These are both from the Ornate Garden Suite in the Annual Catalogue.

As the DSP is cut on the diagonal, with the stamping following the cut line, it makes it an any direction card. Obviously this only works if the pattern on your DSP is non-directional.

I have taken colours from the DSP as my basecard, layer and for the stamping. These are two In Colors, Terracotta Tile from last year, and the new Bumblebee.

When I’m using DSP, I tend to use colours from it. This way, I know they will co-ordinate. It also removes a lot of the thinking. The colours are helpfully listed on the back of the card sheet that comes in the pack, or you can find the details in the catalogue.

By cutting your DSP on the diagonal, you are doubling the number of cards you can make from your pack of 12 sheets. Using yesterday’s design, you can create 72 cards. With this design, you can make 144 – yes, one hundred and forty four!

Make sure you have your Paper Trimmer to hand as it will take a while to cut using a pencil, ruler and scissors.

Field of Flowers for my Customer Thank You Cards

I’m so grateful to everyone who has placed an order through my Online Store during this strange time.

As a thank you to these fabulous customers, they have been receiving these pretty cards. Some have also been receiving little gifts too for using the Hostess Code for their order. Customer recognition is one of my favourite parts of my job.

I used the new Field of Flowers Stamp Set from the new Annual Catalogue. My colour combination is Garden Green and Seaside Spray with Whisper White.

To make sure everything was aligned each time, my Stamparatus came in very handy. On one plate I had the flowers, and on another the dragonfly and stems, inking each one up in turn.

The Ornate Thanks Stamp Set provides the fabulous sentiment and this is on a shape cut from the amazing new Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. You know how much I love my punches, well this one is something very special. Pop back soon as I’ll be sharing a video on how to use it.

I think the shape really adds a classy finish to the project.

A Special Commission with Ornate Garden Suite

A few weeks ago I was asked to make two special commissions for a Birthday.

I used the Early Release Ornate Garden Suite, and an image in the PDF flyer for the Suite was was my inspiration.

I used the Ornate Style Bundle for the daisies and the pretty frame. The daisies were coloured using Stampin’ Blends in a number of different colours. These were then cut out with the Stitched Rectangles Dies.

I used Calypso Coral as the accent colour for the rest of the stamping and cardstock.

To make the ‘Nan’ wording, I used the letters from ‘Thanks’ in the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set, cut the stamped letters out separately and stuck them together.
