Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Peekaboo Forest

Last week I held both my Card & Cuppa and my Card & Cuppa for Children Classes. I decided that this project using the Peekaboo Forest Stamp Set and Dies would be the card for both classes.

This Stamp Set and Dies are currently on the Last Chance Products list at a discounted price. Make sure you grab them while you can.

To begin, a piece of Basic White cardstock was cut in half using a one of the Dies. This creates the pieces for the sky and the hedge.

The sky was then coloured with a Blending Brush using Balmy Blue and the hedge using Garden Green.

Next, leaves from the Stamp Set were stamped onto the hedge piece and coloured with a Blender Pen.

Each of our Peekaboo Friends were stamped in Early Espresso onto a separate piece, and cut out using the Dies. They were coloured using Watercolour Pencils and a Blender Pen.

Assembly was next, with the sky being stuck down first and the animals stuck to the back of the hedge. A Dimensional was stuck to the back of each head before the hedge was attached. This gives the project more depth and makes the animals look like they are peering over the hedge.

Finally, a sentiment from the Simply Said Stamp Set was added to the bottom of the project.

July Card Making Class – Project 2

The is the second project from this month’s Card Making Class. All four of the designs were based on theme of ‘For the Children’.

This cute any occasion design is created using the Peekaboo Forest Stamp Set and Dies Bundle from the Online Exclusives range.

First, a background is created using Balmy Blue and Old Olive Ink and Blending Brushes.

Next, the tree is stamped onto Crumb Cake and the bear onto Very Vanilla, both in Early Espresso. These are cut out using the Dies.

A piece of Old Olive cardstock is also given a foliage outline using the Dies.

This piece is then stamped with the little leaves which are coloured using Blender Pens. The whole piece is also given a touch of extra colour using the Blending Brush.

Both the tree and the bear are coloured using Stampin’ Blends in Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie.

The section behind the hole is also coloured using a Stampin’ Blend in Basic Black.

Each piece is then layered onto the background, making sure to slot the bear in when sticking the tree down, but not sticking his head down just yet. Any overhanging foliage is then cut away.

Finally, a Dimensional is carefully stuck to the back of the bear’s head to lift him away from his hole to give some extra depth.
