Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Hand-Penned Petals Two Ways

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project was this pretty floral design.

The stamping is from the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set & Dies, with background leaves in Pear Pizzazz.

Basic Gray has been used to stamp the floral image and cut out using the coordinating Penned Flowers dies. This is coloured using Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens.

Using Stamping’ Blends, the ribbon is coloured to coordinate the cardstock. This is then made into a swoosh.

A circle is then cut from the Stylish Shapes Dies in Daffodil Delight.

Pearls are also coloured with Stampin’ Blends and these are then added to finish the project.

I then made another card using the same items, just in a different orientation. They were used for Mothering Sunday cards.

These are shown below. Is the portrait or landscape version your favourite?

An In Color Thank You Using Items Already on my Desk

Do you have a pile of pre-cut items already on your craft desk? Me too!

For this project, I challenged myself to use them.

Using the In Colors of Soft Succulent and Polished Pink, with Very Vanilla, the project came together with items I had already cut or stamped.

The Stitched Greenery Die provides the background, again in Soft Succulent.

A flower from the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set, with the outline stamped in Smoky Slate, provides the main image. This image is then coloured using second generation stamping in the project colours. It is then cut out with the coordinating Penned Flowers Dies.

The flower sits on a shape cut from the Decorative Circle Punch.

Using the Beauty of Friendship Stamp Set the sentiment is stamped onto shapes cut from the Tailor Made Tags Dies. These are offset and poke out from behind the shape.

The flower and Decorative Circle piece are raised up on Dimensionals to create some extra depth.

Finally, some coordinating In Color Opal Rounds complete the project.

Introduction to In Color Class – Sweet Sorbet

For the Sweet Sorbet project at my recent Introduction to In Color Class, we made this card.

It combines here with Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride and Very Vanilla.

Using the Vintage Bottle Punch, Vintage Bottle Shaker Dome and Effervescent Elements, all new in the Annual Catalogue, the fun shaker section is created.

Leaves, cut using the Bough Punch are stuck to the project. Then, flowers from the Sending Dies, Flowers of Home Dies and Penned Flowers Dies are coated in Wink of Stella and added using Glue Dots.

Each flower is given a centre using a combination of In Color Matte Decorative Dots from the Class kit and some Iridescent Pearls.

Finally, a bow made from coordinating In Color Metallic Woven Ribbon sit on the bottle.

This project is sentiment free, but one can be added if required.

Countdown to Christmas 2021 #11

Another project from my Special Christmas Cards online Class is the 11th project in my Countdown to Christmas 2021 series.

Countdown to Christmas 2021 #11. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

Every year, one of these cards is suitable for children. This fun easel card is the one for this year.

It starts of as a rooftop and when it is open, it shows the chimney and Santa’s feet sticking out.

Each side of the fold is tiled using Poppy Parade, Cherry Cobler and Cajun Craze. The snow on the ridge and chimney is from the Penned Flowers Dies.

For the chimney, Gray Granite is embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.

Countdown to Christmas 2021 #11. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

Santa’s legs are made from Poppy Parade, edged with Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon. Basic Black boots are cut using the ghost shape from the Halloween Punch. This punch is on the Last Chance Products list, so make sure you don’t miss out on getting your hands on one.

To secure the easel card when it is opened, ‘Ho Ho Ho’ is cut out using the Playful Alphabet Dies. Each of the letters is coated in Wink of Stella before being stuck to the Basic White piece.

This piece is attached using Dimensionals to ensure the card sits in place.

As with all the projects at this class, the attendees made a box for the card. Here is mine.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Highland Heather Florals

Last week’s Card & Cuppa design began with a request for ‘something purple for a Birthday’.

Highland Heather Florals. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

The purple is Highland Heather, with Mint Macaron, Daffodil Delight and Basic White completing the combination.

Before doing anything else, my sentiment from the Art Gallery Stamp Set is stamped. This is because it’s easier to cover it or stamp again if you make a mistake at this stage.

Using the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder, this creates a pretty pattern for the bottom part of the project.

Highland Heather Florals. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

Strips of cardstock are layered on top of a piece of coordinating ribbon. This piece has been cut in half, but you could use two pieces instead.

Die cut pieces from the Penned Flowers Dies are layered and stuck onto the strip. Some of these were given a coating of Wink of Stella beforehand.

Finally, some Rhinestones add a touch of sparkle.

Hand-Penned Customer Thank You Cards

My favourite time of the month as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is sending Thank You cards to those who shopped with me the month before.

Hand-Penned Customer Thank You Cards. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

This is my card for my June Customers.

It uses items from the Hand-Penned Suite, with the Hand-Penned DSP as the focus.

The fabulous DSP is on Special Offer until 2nd August. Make sure you grab yourself a pack or two before the offer ends.

For my colour combination, I picked Pale Papaya and Basic White from the DSP, with a Black sentiment. As there are a few colours in the DSP, I wanted to keep the colours I used to a minimum.

Hand-Penned Customer Thank You Cards. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

Using the Penned Flowers Dies from the Suite, I scalloped the edge of the DSP.

The sentiment is from the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set and I’ve stamped a few extra flowers around it.

This is cut out using the Label Me Fancy Punch.

Lengths of the coordinating In Color Ribbon are crossed behind it.

Finally, some Genial Gems, also from the Suite are dotted across the project.

If you shop with me in July, a card will be on the way to you during August. Don’t forget that if you use the Online Shopping Club Code, you will receive a little extra gift too.

Anything is Possible With Hand-Penned Petals

This project is all about the Hand-Penned Petals products.
Anything is Possible. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

These new products in the Annual Catalogue are simply stunning.

My colour combination of Daffodil Delight, Misty Moonlight and Basic White, with Black stamping is taken from the Hand-Penned DSP.

I’ve also recreated the image from the DSP using the Hand-Penned Petals Bundle (Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set and Penned Flowers Dies).

Normally, I would stamp these images in Basic Gray, but as the DSP has Black outlines, I’ve mirrored that too.

For my infill stamping, I’ve used 3rd Generation stamping to tone the colours down. If you’re not sure what generations stamping is, check out my recent Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques video.

Using Wink of Stella, the flowers are given some subtle shimmer.

Anything is Possible. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

The background is just one piece of DSP, cut and then reversed to show the other pink side. This side helps to make the stamped image stand out.

A length of Crinkled Seam Binding runs across the project, with the sentiment added just slightly overhanging the edge.

My main flower is attached with Dimensionals to raise it off the card.

Anything is Possible. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

Finally, some small Rhinestones are dotted around for a little bit of extra sparkle.

This fabulous DSP is one of the packs on special offer until 2nd August. Find out more here.

Triple Ripple

This card is all about repitition, with this triple ripple effect.

Triple Ripple. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

It uses the Hand-Penned Petals Bundle (Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set & Penned Flowers Dies) from the Annual Catalogue.

Firstly, the flower image is stamped in Gray Granite multiple times, plus one on another piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock.

The separate flower is cut out with the dies, and then coloured using both packs of Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen.

Next, using my colours of Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry, the ripples are cut using the dies from the bundle.

Triple Ripple. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

A sentiment from the Blossoms in Bloom Stamp Set is added to the top Very Vanilla Ripple.

Next, the ripples are stuck together and attached to the project.

For the focal flower background, I used the Stitched With Whimsy Dies. This was fussy cut around the edge to create the whimiscal shape.

The focal flower is stuck onto this shape which is raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, coordinating Artistry Blooms Sequins are dotted around the card.

Don’t forget that several offers end this month. Make sure you check them out here.

Turtle Friends Bundle

I love a Stamp Set that has a coordinating punch, and this Turtle Friends Bundle makes me smile.

It’s perfect for young and old and many different occasions too.

Turtle Friends. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

I’ve used Evening Evergreen and Mint Macaron for my colour combination, with Calypso Coral streamers.

The larger image from the set is stamped in Evening Evergreen and then coloured with Mint Macaron and Evening Evergreen Stampin’ Blends.

It’s then cut out using the Turtle Punch from the Bundle from the new Annual Catalogue.

Turtle Friends. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs Streamers and the sentiment are added to the background. Each time I stamped the streamers, I rotated the stamp 180 degrees to avoid an obvious repeating pattern.

Using a length of Mint Macaron Soft Velvet Ribbon, this is stuck over a scallop edge strip, cut using the Penned Flowers Dies.

Layering Circles Dies provide the backing for the turtle (tortoise!) to sit on.

Finally, this whole piece is raised up using Dimensionals.

Turtle Friends. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

I can’t wait to use the friends from this set in future projects.

Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques: CASE-ing Stampin’ Up! Publications

Welcome to my first Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques video. I’m finally trying to dip my toe in the YouTube water on a regular basis.

The first video is all about CASE-ing the Annual Catalogue, which I’ve done to make this project.

Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques: CASE-ing Stampin' Up! publications

My aim is to share a quick Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques video every Thursday. No promises that this is going to happen straight away!

The project I’ve created using this tip uses the new Hand-Penned Petals Bundle (Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set and Penned Flowers Dies).

A fabulous colour combination of Highland Heather, Mint Macaron and Pale Papaya teamed with Very Vanilla creates a lovely soft look.

I just love how the design looks like it has been professionally printed. This new Bundle in the Annual Catalogue is just incredible.

You can choose to stamp the insides, or colour them using a variety of methods. My version is stamped using the various infill images. The way they aren’t completely coloured gives them a really stylish look.

Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques: CASE-ing Stampin' Up! publications

One of the flower sections has been cut out with the dies and raised above co-ordinating ribbon.

Finally, some Wink of Stella in the centre of the focal set of flowers, plus some Genial Gems are added for some sparkle.
