Perfectly Penciled DSP

A Sweet Sorbet Special Day

Today’s project uses the In Color Sweet Sorbet to make this ‘It’s Your Special Day’ card.

Along with Sweet Sorbet, I chose Basic Black and Basic White for my colour combination.

The sentiment is from another ‘sweet’ product, the Sweet Songbirds Stamp Set. This is the first item to be added to the Basic White piece.

A strip of the Perfectly Penciled DSP then sits across the bottom of the project, with a thin strip of coordinating cardstock across the join.

On top of this is a length of In Color Metallic Woven Ribbon, also in Sweet Sorbet.

Another section of the DSP is cut out using the Beautiful Shapes Dies to provide the pretty flower.

This is then given a touch of colour using Stampin’ Blends and sits on a shape cut from the Stylish Layers Dies.

Finally, a touch of Wink of Stella is added to the flower to give an extra touch of sparkle.

Finishing Up Friday – Perfectly Penciled Petal Pink Hippo

This week’s Finishing Up Friday is this cute pink hippo.

It uses Perfectly Penciled DSP, Stylish Shapes Dies, SAB Hippest Hippos Stamp Set with the coordinating Hippo dies, and Petal Pink accents.

Don’t forget there isn’t long to earn SAB items with a qualifying order. You only have until the end of August.

This week, I was able to identify the projects that the pieces were left over from – here and here.

With my colour combination of Petal Pink, Basic Black and Basic White decided for me, all I had to do was colour my pre-stamped and pre-cut hippo.

I chose to use my Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends and coordinate it with the rest of the project.

You have seen me use this card layout many times in the past. First, a sentiment from the Hippest Hippos Stamp Set sits in the top right-hand corner.

Next, a piece of the DSP goes on the bottom, with a length of the Petal Pink Ribbon across the join.

Then, the shapes and hippo are layered together and sit on Dimensionals above the ribbon.

For a finishing touch, some Solid Faceted Gems, also in Petal Pink are dotted around this quick, easy and fun card.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Monochrome Perfectly Penciled DSP

Last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project just used black and white for this monochrome design.

It uses the Perfectly Penciled DSP for the background piece.

A sentiment from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set is then stamped on a separate piece of cardstock to sit across the project.

Basic Black and Basic White strips are then cut and stuck behind the sentiment. The edges are cut at an angle and they are set are different lengths.

Once the sentiment piece is stuck down, with any overhang cut away, two lengths of Basic Black Baker’s Twine then sit at the top and bottom.

Finally, some Classic Matte Dots are added.

This design is a great scrap buster and perfect for masculine projects.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Perfectly Penciled DSP

The new Perfectly Penciled DSP made an appearance at last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa Class.

This fabulous new DSP is black and white, so is great for colouring.

However, I chose to leave the Perfectly Penciled DSP as it comes and used Petal Pink accents to soften it.

Different pieces and sides of the DSP are cut and placed to create a background.

A length of the new Soft Polyester Ribbon is then added.

Next, a sentiment from the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set is then stamped onto a cut out from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Another shape is cut in Basic Black and offset behind.

Finally, some of the new Solid Faceted Gems from the Annual Catalogue, also in Petal pink add some little extra touches of colour.
