Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Blushing Bride Butterflies

Last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project had Blushing Bride butterflies as the feature.

Blushing Bride Butterflies. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs Along with Blushing Bride, the colours were Pear Pizzazz and Fresh Freesia, plus Very Vanilla to create a softer look.

The sentiment, from the Art Gallery Stamp Set was stamped first. That way, if I made a mistake, I could use the other side!

Then, the strip of coordinating Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon was stuck down the side.

Pierced Blooms Dies provide the small leaves and the flower, with the large leaf stem from the Artistic Dies.

Wink of Stella was then added to the centre of the flower, and the butterflies. The butterflies are from the Brilliant Wings Dies.

By sticking the smaller butterflies down first, I was able to see how much space I had available to create the rest of the project.

I then cut the bottom leaves off the large stem and started layering the leaves together, mixing the ones I’d cut off to the left and right.

The large butterfly was then stuck to the flower and this was then attached using Mini Dimensionals.

Pearls then provided the finishing touch.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – A Cascade of Purple Pierced Blooms

For last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project, the attendees created a pretty cascade of purple pierced blooms.

My colour scheme was the ‘can’t go wrong’ combination of Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. These were combined with Very Vanilla.

For the background, the Stitched Greenery Die made another appearance. It is a really useful die.

Next, it was the turn of the flowers to turn into that cascade of purple.

Most flowers had a touch of Wink of Stella added to them for a bit of sparkle.

I chose to use the Biggest Wish Stamp Set for my sentiment. This was raised up on Dimensionals, with the bow stuck to the corner using a Glue Dot.

Finally, some Pastel Pearls in coordinating colours were added to the center of some of the smaller flowers.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Pierced Blooms Dies

Lots of layers of flowers and leaves from the Pierced Blooms Dies made last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project.

The jar shape is from the Jar Punch, cut from Smoky Slate. Everything else is cut using the dies.

These dies are part of Bundle with a coordinating Stamp Set in the January-June Mini Catalogue. Although the products are staying, the Bundle is on the Retiring List and leaves us at the end of this month. Make sure you grab your discounted Bundle while you can.

A combination of Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive for the leaves, So Saffron and Daffodil Delight for the yellow and Pale Papaya for the orange make up the floral part. Pool Party adds the bow and ribbon elements.

Attaching the ribbon and bow to the jar first and adding that to the project gives a starting point.

Next, leaves and flowers are added, using a combination of wet glue and Glue Dots.

The largest flowers are given centres, coated with Wink of Stella and are raised at the front with a couple of leaves to add depth.

Finally, the smallest flowers were used to fill in gaps and small Basic Pearls are popped in the centre of some of the flowers.

This project is sentiment free, but one can be added if needed.

Plenty of Pinks for a 40th Birthday

A friend who is a fan of all things pink and sparkly had their 40th Birthday recently.

With the new Annual Catalogue providing another pink in this year’s In Colors. I had plenty of pinks to choose from.

My colour combination is Polished Pink, Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo and the project is version of this previous card. This project is a large A5 card. Plenty of Pinks for a 40th Birthday. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

For the flowers, I have used the In Bloom Bundle – In Bloom Stamp Set and Pierced Blooms Dies from the January-June Mini Catalogue.

The background is a combination of the In Bloom Stamp Set and the Forever Fern Stamp Set. Using a Sponge Dauber, I’ve also added touch of extra colour behind the flowers.

Vine Design provides the Happy Birthday sentiment and is cut out using the Messages Die, again, both are from the January-June Mini Catalogue.

A long length of the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack in Blushing Bride with a bow wraps around the card.

I’m not sure that you can see the huge amount of Wink of Stella I’ve used on the project to create a lot of sparkle. It is on the flowers and also dotted across the background too.

Finally, for a bit more sparkle, Rhinestones and In Color Jewels are added.

In Bloom Bundle meets In Color

Have you seen the fabulous new Bundles in the January-June Mini Catalogue.

For this project, the new In Bloom Bundle meets In Color, to create a pretty floral card.

My colour combination is Seaside Spray and Rococo Rose In Colors, with Pear Pizzazz and Very Vanilla.

As these cards were for Mothering Sunday, I made two. One in Seaside Spray and the other in Rococo Rose, with accents in the other colour.

Another new product in the Mini Catalogue is the pretty Stitched With Whimsy Dies. This is the wavy embossed outline shape you can see on the Very Vanilla background piece.

In the background, I used a Sponge Dauber and ink in the opposite colourway. This adds a slight hint of colour for the leaves and flowers to sit on.

The Pierced Bloom Dies are a set of 25 Dies. Some co-ordinating with the In Bloom Stamp Set as part of the Bundle. Other dies in the set work on their own, such as the bow shape.
